“We have been waiting 11 years for this Vernon” Petunia said “we will have to tell him”

“No” he said stubbornly “remember what Lily was like when she found out she was a freak?”

“She was a witch” Petunia muttered

“What?” Vernon said not hearing what his wife had said

“Nothing dear” Petunia said “the letter normally comes the week before their 11th birthday”

“So what do we do with it?” Vernon said and as Petunia shrugged he ripped it in half

“There” he said “Problem solved”

But they both knew it would not be that easy. That next week the Dursley’s where bombarded with over a hundred letters for Harry Potter yet Harry did not receive any of the letters that where sent to him just like Dumbledore knew he wouldn’t as he knew that the best thing he could have done for Harry was to keep him away from the wizarding world even if it kept him from the better side of his family and he was beginning to regret that.

“Minerva” he said turning to the deputy head “can you get me the rest of the staff please?” and she nodded and left the room.

“What’s the matter Albus?” Severus Snape the potions professor said entering the room first followed by professors Flitwick, sprout and Hagrid

“The muggles are not giving Harry his letters” Albus said softly

“You expected them to?” Snape said “we told you 11 years Harry should have gone to his godparents”

“One of his godparents is a convicted murderer” Dumbledore said “another is a werewolf and the other two where grieving too much for them to take Harry in they had both lost the closest thing that they had to a sister Severus it would be too much to ask of them”

“Yet asking them to teach there this year isn’t?” Minerva said backing up Snape’s argument”

“Their daughter is coming here this year” Albus said “and we need a defence against the dark arts teacher who better to ask than an Auror?”

“True” the staff agreed “but I think that we should tell them so that Harry is told what he is Albus after all if you are right we need Harry”

“Go get them please Severus?” Albus asked and he nodded and left the room

10 Minutes later

“What do you mean he isn’t getting his letters!” Dean Black said angrily “those fucking muggles I am going to kill them”

“Calm down Dean” Severus said shortly “we all care for Harry, even if he doesn’t know it”

“So what do we do now?” Samantha asked putting a hand on her husband’s arm

“We send you and Dean on his 11th birthday” Dumbledore said “I am letting him go into your care you are his family after all”

“Thank you Albus” Dean said “I have been waiting 11 years for this well since James and Lils died”

“Me two” Sam said softly “I just wish Sirius could be with us as well”

“Everyone in this room knows what really happened” Albus said

“If anyone can survive Azkaban it’s Padfoot” Dean said confidently

“I hope your right” Minerva said “because if he does he will want to meet Harry”

“And he will” Dean said “if I know Padfoot when he comes out he will commit the murder he was accused of”

“True” Snape said “and I trust you would help him and then vouch for him”

Dean didn’t say anything simply shrugged and Snape laughed they had became friends over the past 11 years a she had seemed genuinely grieving for Lily and James maybe Lily a little more because of the who marauders against Snape thing but they had gotten past that well Dean and Snape had anyway.
