my first DN ficlet. I am a LightxL fan. :3

It had started out as something almost pure. A simple dream that this world could see realized by his hands. Light never would have thought that his dream would go so terribly wrong. Who wouldn't want a world free of crime and violence? When the note fell into his hands Light knew he could do it. He knew he could make this world better.

I had a dream that no one else could have.

He hadn't counted on L. Or that he would fall in love with the genius detective. Looking back on it, it was inevitable that he would fall for him. It started out as a rivalry almost, L trying to get a confession and Light playing the innocent one.

When Light lost his memories, it became so much more. Being handcuffed to L had brought them together. He often wondered if L knew it would happen. If L wanted it to happen.

Light would never know.
