The Big News

Chapter 1: Inuyasha never saw it coming…

Kagome looked back at her mother one more time, “this is it, huh?”

“Yeah, I guess it is,” her mother said with a single tear running down her cheek.

Kagome looked at the well and took a deep breath. He’s either going to freak, or cry…freak, definitely freak. She took another deep breath as she thought about this.

“Kagome, I know you want to say goodbye, but couldn’t you spend the night here?” Her mother asked hopefully.

“He doesn’t know, I never told him, the least I could do is spend my last night with him,”

“You never told him?”

“No…I feel bad about it, but I never could find the right time. He was either mad, or in a good mood, I didn’t want to bring down the good mood, and I didn’t want to get the brunt of his anger…”

“Do the rest know?”

“Yes, but they didn’t tell him either,”

“Oh, Kagome…I’m…going…to, um…miss you…” she managed to rasp out through sobs.

“You too, mom,” Kagome hugged her mother as they cried their goodbyes.

Kagome sighed again as she jumped down the well. A blue light enveloped her as she went back through time. She came out to get nearly tackled by Shippo. Sango and Miroku walked calmly toward the well, as Kagome looked around. She couldn’t find Inuyasha anywhere…uh oh.

“Hey guys, where’s Inuyasha?” She asked hesitantly.

“You were a little late coming, and Koga was part of the welcoming committee. He started making stupid comments about Inuyasha making you run away,” Sango started.

“He got ticked and decided to wait for your return slaying random demons,” Miroku finished.

Kagome sighed again, oh great, another bad mood…

“Was there a reason you wanted to see him so bad?” Sango asked seeing her friend’s distress.

“Today’s the day…”

The pair’s faces fell as Shippo looked up at her, “The day for what?”

“Shippo, Sango and Miroku will explain. I need to find Inuyasha…Kirara!” She called.

The fire cat came walking out of the brush, “Can you help me find Inuyasha?” Kagome asked hopefully.

When Kirara mewed, Kagome got on her transformed state. Kirara set out sniffing, and a little while later, she found the dog hanyou trying to pick a fight with a much larger demon.

“HA! If I’m such a pathetic half-breed, why won’t you fight me?” Inuyasha taunted.

“You are not worth my time,” the demon replied back.

“Oh, really? Well, if you ask me, I’d say you were scared!” he taunted further.

“I AM NOT AFRAI…”

“SIT!”

Inuyasha came crashing to the ground at Kagome’s special command. She flew down and made Kirara scoop up the irate half-demon. She brought him back to the village they call home. When they landed, she released the spell from him.

“WHAT YOU DO THAT FOR, WENCH!” he snarled.

“Inuyasha, I need to talk to you,” she started.

He was thrown out of his anger at the softness of her voice, “What is it?” he said concerned.

Kagome took a deep breath…Inuyasha never saw it coming.
