Chapter 1: Black hair within five hundred years…
“Sit!” Kagome’s command rang through the forest as Inuyasha came crashing down.
“YOU WENCH! WHAT D’YOU DO THAT FOR?!”
“You’re such a jerk! I bet you wouldn’t be this way if you weren’t a half-demon! I WISH YOU WERE NORMAL!” that was the last thing she said as she jumped down the well.
Inuyasha stood there in shock. He hadn’t known how the fight had gotten out of hand, but it did. She had never said anything like that to him before. She was really mad.
Kagome landed inside the well in her time. She sat there crying. She and Inuyasha hadn’t had a fight in a good year and a half. They barely even hugged, but she knew that he loved her. It was just…he was such a jerk sometimes. She wasn’t sure how she had gotten to saying sit, but she knew he deserved it.
She walked out of the well house and went inside. Her mother was cooking dinner, “Kagome are you alright?”
“Yeah, just me and Inuyasha had another fight,”
“It’ll work out, it always does,”
“I guess. What’s for dinner?”
“Oden,”
“Oh I love oden!”
“Go get cleaned up, it’ll be ready soon,”
“’K!”
As Kagome was washing up for dinner, she started to feel bad about what she said. I didn’t mean it. I don’t wish he was “normal”, I just wish he was a little nicer. Okay, so maybe he’s on the weird side, but that’s why I love him!
She got downstairs and started to eat dinner. Everyone was quiet, and she knew it was because they were all afraid of her when she had a fight with Inuyasha.
Inuyasha was outside fuming. He was grumbling under his breath as he paced outside the well. He was trying to get up the courage to jump in after her, but he just couldn’t. That stubborn, pride-filled side of him wouldn’t let him.
He sat down in front of the well. Had she really meant what she said? He kept thinking about her words over and over as he thought the same question.
He looked up into the darkening sky as a blinding light passed over head. He squinted for a minute before looking up again. There in front of him, were the Northern Lights.
He couldn’t believe his eyes. Could they see those in Japan? He didn’t think they could.
Kagome finished her meal and went up stairs. She took a bath and got in her PJs. As she was sitting in her room studying, she saw a brilliant flash shine through her window. She walked over and gasped.
“The Northern Lights?” she whispered to herself. She didn’t think those were visible in Japan.
She sighed as they disappeared a few minutes later. She went back to her desk and closed her textbook. She flopped down on her bad and set her alarm clock for 6:00. I’ll go to school and forget all about Inuyasha for a while…
Inuyasha started pacing again as the lights above faded. He still didn’t have the courage to go after his girlfriend. We’re going to have a serious talk about these beads when you get back…if you come back…he shook his head and started to trudge back to Kaede’s hut.
As he lay down on the mat, he thought about how he was going to get Kagome to return to him.
Halfway through the night, he turned over and pulsed. Everyone slept right through it, even him.
**the next morning**
Kagome got up and ready as she headed downstairs for breakfast, “Hey guys,”
“Good morning dear,” her mother said as she put a bowl of cereal on the table.
“I’ll be going to school today,”
“Nothing out of the ordinary then,” he mother said with a smile.
Kagome found it weird that her mother wasn’t more surprised. Maybe I should stop by and tell Inuyasha where I’m going first…
She finished her breakfast and went out to the well. As she jumped down, she noticed no blue light was washing over her.
She landed on the bottom of well. She tried it about a dozen more times before checking to see if the sacred jewels were around her neck.
She gasped, they weren’t there! She was extremely worried, but the bus was there.
She spent the entire bus ride worrying about it. She got off and was walking to her locker when she stopped short in her path. Her mouth dropped as she saw an absolutely gorgeous man at his locker. He had cropped off black hair that was slightly spiked with no gel. He was wearing jeans and a red tank-top.
When he turned around, Kagome’s mouth dropped lower. He had gray eyes, slight dimples, and a perfect jaw line. Oh…my…god! It’s…it’s Inuyasha!
Kagome went running over to him. He raised an eyebrow and crinkled his nose a bit.
“Can I help you?” he said with an attitude.
“Inuyasha?! What are you doing here, and why are you human?!” she nearly shouted in a panicked voice.
He just stared at her for a few seconds, “Better question: what are you talking about?”
Now it was her turn to stare. He was acting like she didn’t even know her.
“Inuyasha, what’s wrong with you?”
“I barely glance at you, never mind talk to you. I think I’d be a little freaked out if you randomly started conversations me. And what’s with the ‘know me’ voice?”
“Because I do know you!”
“Right…ya know, I can set you up with a great therapist,”
“Inuyasha!”
“Whatever,” he said in a low voice before walking away.
Kagome stood there shocked for a minute before going to her next class. She sat next to him. Great, now I can figure out what’s going on!
