Chapter 3

The Uzumaki Clan

Danzo’s court martial and public execution took place after Hokage and the old war hawk had a long assisted interrogation. Not only was Danzo involved in having Kushina Uzumaki sent away to a small prison facility shortly after Naruto had the nine-tails sealed inside him, he also was instigating a coup de tat from the Uchiha Clan. In short these two events were considered treason by the Village council and Sarutobi agreed. Danzo was put to death shortly afterward and his clan was also stricken from the Village records.

As for Kushina she healed up well in the hospital and was released after a week. The awkwardness Naruto felt now having a parent vanished outside of a week. Kushina was everything he imagined his mother to be, kind, gentle, loving, but a stern disciplinarian. In a sense he had both his parents again and was unable or unwilling to let the smile drop from his face for nearly two weeks. Once the stigma of having his mother in his life again and knowing his father would be present in life at least in a partial way, the fox boy began delving into his classes and training with the Hyuga clan head with a new found passion.

Kushina smiled softly sitting across from the third Hokage sipping some tea that had been brought in for this meeting. “I’m sorry I haven’t been in sooner Lord Hokage, but wanted to spend the last few weeks reuniting and rebonding with the son I thought I lost.”

“It’s quite alright Kushina dear Naruto really needed it, the boy is probably the happiest I have ever seen him, he no longer hides behind the fake grin that I’ve seen him with,” Sarutobi letting his smile appear. “But I take it this is not a social visit, so what may I help you with.”

“I have members of my clan still scattered throughout the five Shin obi nations,” Kushina sipped her tea thinking. “One of the benefits of being in prison facility was I heard from some S-class missing nin that many of my clan members are still pretty much alive. I have a niece unfortunately in Orochimaru’s clutches, my uncle and his family live in the Land of the Hidden Mist, rumors had he took part in the Kekki Genkai massacre there,” Kushina closed her eyes thinking a moment, then smiled sadly. “My closest relative my brother is the 4th Kazekage and rumors state he turned his youngest into a container much like Naruto was.”

Sarutobi looked a bit surprised at the last statement, “Seems the Land of the Whirlpool is still pretty alive though not all in one place.”

“If possible I like to somehow retrieve my niece from Orochimaru’s nasty little fangs,” Kushina stated coolly, “also like to establish a Nine Swordsman of the Hidden Leaf, and reestablish the Uzumaki clan here.”

The old Hokage thought a moment, “Swordsman equal to that of the Legendary Seven Swordsman of the Hidden Mist would be a great boon to this village, I take it you have candidates in mind?” Sarutobi asked and Kushina nodded her eyes bright in anticipation. “Naruto would be the clan heir,” pursing his lips a bit thinking, “who’s your niece that was taken by Orochimaru?”

“Her name is Tayuya,” Kushina explained. “Like me she has red-hair, and was rumored to have the foulest mouth I’ve ever heard of.”

“I’ll send a message to Jiraiya if anyone can find her and bring her here it’ll be him,” Sarutobi replied filling out a small slip of paper he set down on the desk and would send the note out after the meeting.

“That old pervert is still around,” Kushina rolled her eyes then giggled. “I guess that’s okay Minato and I did name him after the hero in the Pervy Sage’s first book.”

Sarutobi raised an eyebrow at Kushina’s comment on Jiraiya’s preferred lifestyle. He sat back reflecting on certain things. “As clan head and Naruto your only successor he would need to be placed in an arranged marriage fast if you wish to avoid the Clan Restoration Act. Unfortunately the only girls that fall within Naruto’s age limit and have ties to other council clans are the Yamanaka and Hyuga clans.”

“Hinata would perfect the two are already hanging out together thanks to Hiashi’s teaching my son some Taijutsu. Maybe this way he could train in the Gentle fist style?” Kushina stated.

“You would have to talk to Hiashi about it, his clan could oppose it,” Sarutobi stated. “Or worse have Hinata given the bird caged seal to prevent the Byakugan from being transferred outside their clan.”

Kushina scowled lightly, “I hope it won’t come to that, Minato and the Hyuga clan were very friendly toward each other, I can’t imagine they be so prejudice as that, still you are correct this is decision Hiashi and I must make together.”

The rest of the meeting was Kushina establishing her clan in the Namikaze estate, and picking out the Nine ninja with the best sword skills to become a member of the Nine Swordsman of the Hidden Leaf. She picked Itachi Uchiha, Hayate Gekko, Yugao, Asuma Sarutobi, Rin, as her first five candidates and set them up in a building on the new Uzumaki compound. Choosing Itachi did spark some waves with Fugaku but Kushina ignored him stating that Itachi’s involvement in the group would be a benefit to the entire village. Plus deep down she sensed that Itachi was very conflicted about something and hoped he would confide in her at a later date about it. She said her farewells to the Hokage and made a beeline for the Hyuga compound in not only to see her son who would spend the majority of his afternoon on the compound training in Taijutsu. Even though he successfully transmuted the Nine-tailed fox’s chakra he still couldn’t get certain teachers to train him. So the Academy gave Naruto his Ninjutsu, Genjutsu, and other basic Shinobi skills in the morning, then give him study hall in the afternoon so he could learn basic Taijutsu styles from the Hyuga clan, rumors had it that Maito Gai was teaching Naruto as well. Great something my son doesn’t need, green spandex, and spouting off the glories of youth every second, he’ll end up like that poor Lee kid. Kushina shuddered at that thought as she approached the Hyuga compound she spotted Naruto going at it with Neji Hyuga a branch member of the Hyuga clan, nephew of Hiashi, a child genius and rookie of the year in his graduating class. The boy was a Genin and had the day off.

Naruto saw his mother out the corner of his and smiled brightly, “Hiya mom, some to see me train?”

“Something like that, I’m also here to see Hiashi I have something that concern both you and him,” Kushina stated watching Naruto barely get under one of Neji’s strikes then flipping Neji into the air.

“Bad form, Naruto,” Neji stated landing on his feet and turned back to face off with the blond.

“Yeah well, at least I didn’t try to hit someone when he was distracted you jerk,” Naruto growled.

“If that had been real battle you of been dead, you must always be on alert, dear,” Kushina stated walking up and kissing him on the forehead.

Naruto sighed a bit looking at Neji before sliding back into his stance, “Okay Neji let’s do this again.”

Kushina entered the compound and found Hiashi sitting in another training watching as his youngest Hanabi battle against Hinata who was also home doing some work on her gentle fist technique. Kushina sat down Indian style next to Hiashi watching, the Hyuga clan head looked at her with sweatdrop. “You were never very formal were you, Kushina-chan,” Hiashi stated. “A trait your son picked up, at very early age.

Kushina put her elbow on her leg and her hand underneath her chin gazing indifferently at the Hyuga. “It’s probably why Minato never liked me going to formal functions; I’m not the type to be really proper about anything. But unfortunately I came to ask you something.”

“And that would be?” Hiashi stated watching his daughter’s continued to spar.

“For Hinata to be Naruto’s bride to be?” Kushina asked causing Hiashi to do a double take.

“Please tell me you are playing one your old pranks Kushina,” Hiashi stated trying hard to find it on the red-head’s face. He then heard a dull thud looking over at the sparring session he saw Hinata one her back with a full body blush.

“It’s not a prank I’m being serious for once,” Kushina let loose a cat like smile. “See I’m reestablishing the Uzumaki clan, with me as head. So as my sole heir Naruto I need to guarantee his future. I have choice between the Yamanaka clan, whose daughter along with several other girls are currently gaga over the Uchiha brat, Sasuke. Or Hinata who judging by her full body blush and feinting spell is very much enamored with my son.”

Hiashi watched as Hinata slowly recovered but her face was still red as a tomato, touching her fingers together in a shy movement. “I suppose that is true, Hinata come here a second.”

Hinata quietly walked over and sat down her face still red, “Y-yes f-father?”

“You heard what Ms. Uzumaki had said,” Hiashi paused to see his daughter nod and the blush returned in full force. “If you agree to this arrangement you may be put under the Bird Caged seal. Though I will try my hardest to prevent that, you understand.”

Hinata thought a moment, with the seal in place she could not pass the Byakugan onto her children, but for her to be with Naruto was becoming a dream of hers, to be the wife of the future Hokage. She smiled dreamily at the prospect of being Naruto’s wife and then her rather perverted thoughts kicked and caused her to blush again. “I-I understand f-father,” she replied.

“Well then I will need to get approval from the Clan council,” Hiashi stated looking a bit troubled. “You know this will not be easy Kushina.”

“Would it help your case to let the clan council know that Naruto has mastered both his father’s signature jutsu, the Hiraishin and the Rasengan,” Kushina smiled.

This caused the Hyuga clan head to look at the red-head in awe, “The boy hasn’t even graduated and he’s mastered an A-Ranked and a S-Ranked jutsu?”

Kushina put her hands together and gushed, “He’s so like is father, even down to capturing a girls heart,” she had stars in her eyes while Hanabi and her father looked at the red-head sweatdrops running down the back of their heads. Hinata only blushed and feinted again.

“Let’s get this over with, have you informed Naruto?” Hiashi asked.

“No, I will tell after this clan meeting,” Kushina stated returning to normal.

Author’s Note: Well I’m trying to move the stories along as such however this has been a taller order than I first thought, with the Tenchagan, Grandma Tsunade, and the Yu-gi-oh GX: Deck of Konoha fics along with this one I might ask someone to take one of them off my hands to lighten my load a bit. As for this story Hinata and Naruto will sort of pull a Ai Yori Aoshi thing at least in terms of the relationship. Hinata kind of reminds me Aoi from that series. But she’ll gain her confidence the longer she’s around Naruto. As for Naruto he’s going uber powered so expect his first major opponents to be push overs.
