The great aimeexfraser from the Twilight forum called Blushing Cheeks. You are a precious help to me. =D
Summary : When one of the Cullens has some serious trouble, the entire family is implicated as they struggle to get back to their normal lives.
Disclaimer : Of course, none of this is mine. The great Stephenie Meyer created those characters and I just use them for a fanfiction.
Rating : K+, for now.
Note : I used a quote from the great book from Oscar Wilde, The Picture of Dorian Gray to begin with my fanfiction because I thought it was perfect for what I planned to write.
Note 2 : If you still notice any English mistake, feel free to inform me and I'll correct it.

The prologue begins from Carlisle's point of view. Through the fanfiction it will change; other characters will tell the story. I will try to chose the best point of view for each chapter, to describe the best way what is going on. I will always tell which character describes the events.

*****

Good resolutions are useless attempts to interfere with scientific laws.

Their origin is pure vanity. Their result is absolutely nil.

They give us, now and then, some of those luxurious sterile emotions that have a certain charm for the weak.

Prologue

When you have a family, the most important thing is to be there for every single member of it.

Especially when your family is big and each member has a different past like mine does.

Since the very first day, I have always done my best to keep them together.

But what happens when one of them is in trouble ?

How do you manage to be everywhere at the same time ?

How do you manage to endeavour to help one of them, while you are being blamed by the rest of them because what you do is wrong ?

Because what you do takes youto forget all your principles and the way of life you believe in.

I wish I knew...

I thought my family was strong enough never to be harmed by anything... or anyone.

But I was wrong.

Edward, Rosalie, Emmett, Alice and Jasper are my children. All of them. The ones I always wanted to have.

And when one of them calls me "Dad", I cannot refuse anything because it is just too much pain to see them begging me for it.

Today I found out that even the strongest can get weak.

And I am just as weak, for not being able to help him the way I should.

The right way.
