Lily Lebowski is a grief counselor at the medical examiner´s office in Boston. She and Jordan are best friends and she and Garret Macy are romantically involved. They became close a short time after Lily had started in June. She was only 23 but she did a real good job and still does. She is really good in helping grieving people. It is a tough job and it sometime shows it´s toll on Lily. Especially cases including children are hard on Lily, because she has lost her father only a few years ago due to a car accident. It took a very long time for her to recover from that.

One day after a dead man had been released to his family Garret notices Lily´s avoiding way and decides to confront her. “Lily are you alright?” “Yeah. I am fine. It just was a long day.” “ Honey you know where I am if you need someone to talk to.” “Thanks Darling.” He walks back to his office to finish the paper work. He was not able to shake it but he was sure that something was not right with Lily. He was absolutly sure that she was hiding something. So he decided to go by her place when he was finished.

When he arrives at his door and knocks she opens him and lets him enter her appartment. When they are sitting on her couch Garret starts talking. “Lily could it be that you are hiding something from me?” “What should I be hiding Garret?” “I do not know. But you are different since the case today. What are you hiding?” “Nothing?” “Lily what are you hiding?” Garret know spoke in a stern way. And when Lily looked at him her façade started to crumble. “You are right Garret there is more. My father was killed in a car accident a few years ago. The other driver left the scene. They still did not find him.” “I am so sorry sweetheart.” She starts to cry and Garret pulls her into his chest. He cradles her and strokes her back to soothe her. After a while Garret falls asleep and Lily whispers. “I love you Garret.” He opens his eyes when he hears that and says. “I love you too Lily. Now get some rest.”

When they walk into the morgue the next morning Lily decides to tell Jordan about her secret relationship to Garret. While they are still in the elevator she says. “Garret I am going to tell Jordan about us if that is alright with you.” “It sure is.” When they exit the elevator she walks into Jordan´s office. “Mornign Jordan.” “Morning Lily.” “Jordan I need to talk to you.” “Sure what is it?” “Garret and I hove been dating for three months.” “Really?” “Yes.” “I am so happy for you Lily.” “Jordan please you are the only one that knows for now. We want to keep a secret for a little longer. Please do not tell anyone.” “I will not Lily. I promise.” “Thank you Jordan.” They hug and Lily goes back to work.
