A/N: I think this would be sweet, Filch finally getting up the courage to tell Trelawney how he feels about her during their days at Hogwarts. No, I don't really think they could be together, I just have a new boyfriend, so the love bug bit me and I felt like putting Filch with someone out of his league. They're all Gryffindors, okay?
Disclaimer: I don't own the characters; I just got this idea while I was driving down a country lane since I live in the country.
Summary: What if someone who would never amount to anything but a caretaker fell in love with a psychic. Set in the past. Trelawney/Filch.
Fifteen year old Sybill Trelawney was studying for her end of the year test in her room at Hogwarts. It was three weeks until the end of her fifth year and she was so excited. Another year had come and gone and she'd managed to survive without many friends and no boyfriend.
Argus Filch, age seventeen, knocked on her door.
"Yes?" she asked.
"Sybill, may I come in?" asked Argus.
"Sure Argus." said Sybill.
Argus walked in. "Sybill, since it's almost time for us to leave for the summer, I wanted to tell you something that I've wanted to tell you since you first got here.
"What is it?"asked Sybill, looking up.
"I, well, I, I like you, I think you're really pretty and sweet and I believe your predictions and I want to be with you."said Argus. It had come out so fast.
"Argus."said Sybill.
"I was wondering if I could maybe take you to a movie or something, I'm sorry."said Argus. He turned to leave.
"Wait, maybe you can, meet me in the Great Hall."said Sybill. It was Saturday, they were allowed to go on dates on weekends so why not?
"Okay, I'll meet you at seven!"exclaimed Argus, he was about to spring up with excitement.
"See you then."said Sybill.
Argus left the room with a smile on his face for the first time in ages.
Minerva McGonnagal saw the whole thing. She walked in as soon as she was certain that Argus couldn't hear them.
"Sybill's got a boyfriend."she teased.
"Mind your own business, he just wants to take me to a movie."said Sybill.
"He's smitten, you don't need the Inner Eye to see that."said Minerva.
"Well that doesn't make him my boyfriend."said Sybill.
"Yes, but he wants to be, he was acting like an unpopular, pimple-faced freshman boy approaching the most popular, most beautiful senior girl in school, or did you not See that?"asked Minerva.
"Minerva."said Sybill.
"Sorry, I couldn't resist."said Minerva.
"And anyway, I did see that, and maybe I want to go out with him."said Sybill.
"You really should, everyone has noticed that he likes you."said Minerva.
"I knew it all along, that's why I've been playing hard to get."said Sybill.
"Oooh, Sybill, you are so mean to make that boy wait."said Minerva.
"Well, he's not exactly bright, he's in special ed and I'm taking advanced Divination, we come from opposite ends of the intelligence ladder."said Sybill.
"Well, you don't exactly need a brain for Divination."Minerva muttered.
"What was that?"asked Sybill.
"I said you should really date him, you don't have a boyfriend and I think it would be really good for you."said Minerva.
"Yeah, maybe I should, I guess I'm bisexual then."said Sybill.
"You were a lesbian?"asked Minerva.
"Yeah, but I didn't have a girlfriend either and beggers can't be choosers."said Sybill.
"Why didn't you tell me you were a lesbian?"asked Minerva.
"Because I thought you'd think I was copying you, anyway."said Sybill.
"Seriously, I could have hooked you up with my ex-girlfriend."said Minerva.
"Minerva, back to my date with Argus."said Sybill.
"Yes?"asked Minerva.
"Could you help me decide what to wear?"asked Sybill.
Argus sat at the entrance to the Great Hall waiting for Sybill. He was wearing his best outfit, a dress shirt and a pair of khakis.
Sybill walked over to him in a short green dress that stopped about four inches above her knees, a short blue denim jacket that stopped at her ribcage, and white sandals. Her long blonde hair was glistening in the sunlight. She was beautiful.
Argus stood up to greet her. "Good evening."he said.
"Hey."said Sybill.
They hugged.
"Are you ready to go?"asked Argus.
"Sure."said Sybill.
So together they walked to Hogsmeade where they were going to see a movie called "Twilight".
They got in and got seated and about halfway through the movie, Argus put his arm around Sybill. He had been daring himself to do that all night.
Sybill looked up at him and he was about to move his arm, but Sybill settled into it and they continued watching the movie.
After the movie, they went to a restaurant to eat.
Then they went back to the castle.
"I really enjoyed this."said Sybill as they were standing outside the common room.
"Me too."said Argus.
"I'd like to do this again sometime."said Sybill.
"So would I"said Argus.
They both leaned in for a kiss.
"Password."said the portrait of the Fat Lady, interrupting them.
Argus rolled his eyes and Sybill giggled.
"Zippity."he said.
The portrait opened for them and they walked into the common room.
"I guess I'll see you tomorrow."said Argus.
"Alright."said Sybill.
They kissed and Argus went upstairs to his dorm.
Sybill waites for a minute and then turned to go upstairs to her dorm when Minerva came out from behind a chair.
"Minerva McGonnagal, you scared me to death!"exclaimed Sybill.
"Sorry, I couldn't help but overhear, so how did it go?"asked Minerva.
"It went great, I like him."said Sybill.
"I'm happy for you."said Minerva.
"Yeah, well I'm tired, I'm going to bed okay."said Sybill.
"I'm right behind you."said Minerva.
And that night was the begginning of a wonderful thing in Sybill's life.
She and Argus dated all through school. Even after Argus graduated Sybill still continued to go out on dates with him on weekends.
When Sybill graduated, they dated more than just on the weekends.
Then they took jobs at Hogwarts. Argus wasn't able to be anything but a caretaker, since he was a squib, but he got the job easilly because no one else wanted it. And because of her psychic abilities and off the charts grades in Divination, Sybill became the Divination professor.
They stayed with their jobs until it was time for them to retire. Although, someone had tried to fire Sybill.
When they finally did retire, they moved to America. They set up home in a small, southern town called Calhoun Falls, South Carolina, a little known town that if you didn't live there you wouldn't know it existed. Nonetheless they were happy there.
They lived like muggles, although, Sybill used magic occasionally to cure head aches and stomach aches and to find lost objects because of her health and the fact that she was always losing something.
Sybill learned to drive a car and enjoyed driving down the beautiful country lanes. Argus was very good with tools and continually worked on improving their house until what started out as a small doubled-wide trailor became a beautiful country house.
They never married, but had two children together, one son and one daughter. Like their father, neither of the children had much magical ability, but they both were born with psychic abilities like their mother.
And after their children grew up and left them, they continued to live together happily until they died.
A/N: Yes I am fifteen and my boyfriend is seventeen. If you ask me, I'm way out of my boyfriend's league on the intelligence ladder but he was my friend for a long time and he asked me out and made me late for gym class. LOL! But he acted about like Filch and long story short, we're together now. The only difference between me and Sybill is that she's taking advanced Divination and I'm taking advanced English, but I really can predict the future. So enough about my relationship with my boyfriend, review!
