HI!!! I’m back and I’m sorry it took me so long, you wouldn’t believe the case of writers block I had. Literally nothing came to me for like 2 weeks no matter how hard I tried. Then when I finally got a general idea, I had no idea how long to make it or if it was the right time to introduce Seth (who I mentioned in chapter 6) But it all boiled down to this Sethless chapter (don’t worry SoullessWarlock he’ll be in the next one and you will get his scene’s before hand to see if I handled your character well.) But as they say, good things come to those who wait. (at least I hope it’s good)
ENJOY!!
“SAM!!” Loah yelled as she burst from Luke’s car and threw herself at her boyfriend.
He just stood there frozen and let her hug him. Soon she pulled back.
“Sam why won’t you hug me?” She asked. Sam gave her a blank look.
“I--I thought you would be mad. I thought you would yell and scream, and throw things. But here you are being all sweet. Why are you being so sweet?” Sam scratched his head nervously. Loah smiled and rubbed his arms.
“First of all I leave the queen outs to my dads.” Thankfully this brought a little smirk to Sam’s list which perked Loah up a bit. “Second, I heard about Jordan. I knew how much pain you must be in and I don’t want to be the bitch who got mad at you when you are hurting!” The smile on Sam’s face grew. Loah smiled back.
“What?”
Sam shook his head. “I was just thinking, I have the best girlfriend in the world.”
“Well get used to it.” Loah said “Cause I am not leaving your side anytime soon.” Loah reached up and pulled Sam’s head to hers, and smashed their lips together. A few moments later there was a not so subtle cough behind them. Loah turned to see her father.
“Daddy thank you so much for sitting with him.” She reached over and pulled her tall dad into a hug, which he returned.
“It’s not a problem.” They pulled away “I’m guessing that you two have made up now?” Loah nodded. “Perfect, your dad is in the plane, the pilot’s ready to go, I suggest we get on board.” Noah looked to Sam for confirmation that this is what he wanted to do. He nodded.
“The sooner I see my brother the better.” With that they all grabbed their bags and loaded on to Lucinda’s jet. Sam and Loah sat in a love seat near the back while Luke and Noah took one near the front. After they had taken off and Sam had a chance to relax Loah started in with the questions.
“Sooooo, my dad was a little sketchy with the details. How did Jordan get hurt?” Sam dropped his head but Loah did nothing. She just waited it out and sure enough after a few moments of silence Sam raised his head and began speaking.
“He and Lyle were in a car accident on Hollywood Boulevard. Lyle‘s a little banged up but Sam got the brunt of the damage.” Loah silently took in the information and nodded.
“Okay.” She said, the it was her turn to take a deep breath before she asked the question she had been dreading.
“Sam? -----Was Rosie in the car?” There was a moment of silence before Sam spoke.
“No. Thank god. The only things keeping me sane right now are you and her. I don’t know what Me and her parents would do if anything happened to that beautiful little girl.” Sam started crying and Loah pulled him into a tight, comforting hug.
“But nothing did happen Sam. Rosie is okay and Jordan will be to.” Sam pulled back and looked Loah in the eyes.
“That’s what really gets me about all this, I mean Jordan is a good guy. He doesn’t drink he’s never done drugs, he’s a good dad….I don’t see why this happened to him.” Sam looked down, Loah raised his head.
“You know my grandma was in a coma once.” She said, the same idea Noah had, coming to her. Sam nodded.
“Yeah Noah said something about that.” Loah smiled to herself…..he said Noah. “You think Luke would actually talk to me?” He asked. Loah shrugged, smile widening.
“Only one way to find out.” Before he could protest Loah had grabbed Sam’s hand and they were heading over to her parents seats. Loah plopped down next to Luke while Sam remained standing.
“Well hello.” Noah said.
“To what do we owe the pleasure?” Luke asked.
“Actually..” Loah asked. “I was wondering if you could talk to dad? About when grandma was in the coma.” Luke and Noah both smiled.
“I literally, just recommended that to him.” Noah said.
“And I said yes.” Luke said. “If it will help you get through this Sam I’ll be glad to help.” Sam’s eyes widened.
“Are you sure? I-I mean I don’t want to make you uncomfortable.” Sam stumbled over his words. Loah smiled and stood next to Sam, pressing a kiss to his cheek.
“Sam honey, just sit and listen to dad. I swear it will help.” Sam smiled and nodded. Noah kissed Luke’s cheek and stood next to Loah.
“Lo and I will give you guys some privacy.” Luke smiled at his husband, marveling at what an outstandingly compassionate man he was. Noah and Loah sat where she and Sam just were and Sam took a seat next to Luke. There was a bit of an awkward silence. Sam didn’t really know how to start and Luke didn’t want to say or do anything to push Sam to fast. Finally he found the perfect way to start.
“So I assume Noah told you about my mom?” Sam shook his head.
“Only that she was in a coma, he didn’t give me any specifics.”
“Well,” Luke started. “Then let me fill you in.” Luke took a moment to breath and prepare before starting. Soon, he was ready. “Okay, well when I first came out, she wasn’t fully supportive. Couple that with the fact the Damian had just come back, and he was acting all gay friendly. But behind my back he was planning to send me to a straight camp. He had convinced my mom it was the best place for me. But before they could send me I figured out their plan. Only I thought it was my mom’s idea. So when she came to me when she figured out the truth I wouldn’t hear her. We started fighting on the stairs and I pushed her away. She fell. It was lucky she didn’t loose the baby.”
When he was finished Luke wiped tears that had started to flow. Noah, who had been casting glances his way, saw and almost went to him. Loah stopped him.
“Let them finish dad, please” Noah agreed but never took his eyes off of them. After some silence Sam decided to speak.
“Your mom was pregnant when she got hurt?” He asked, choked up. Luke nodded.
“With Ethan, she had a c-section while she was still comatose. I always blamed myself, not just because I pushed her, but because for most of her coma, I wasn’t there. For most of it I was mad at her and I spent more and more time with a lying Damian.”
“Why?” Sam asked, probing deeper into this story.
“I--I’d rather not go into that.” Luke said. “The past is the past, Damian and I are on good terms now, and I did get to sit by my mom’s side when the truth surfaced.“ Luke smiled and Sam nodded, fine with the change of subject, he had some questions to ask anyway.
“I just wanted to know..” Sam said. “How, how did you get through it. Sitting there looking at her, all helpless and fragile and weak like that?” Luke shed a tear and Sam saw it. “Oh god your crying..” Luke stopped him.
“Fir the hundredth time Sam,” Luke said smiling. “Shut up.” Sam smiled back and let Luke talk.
“I’m not going to lie to you, it sucked. Seeing my best friend so hurt, it really sucked. Because it seemed like she wasn’t really there. But, there was one thing that helped.”
“And that was?” Sam asked.
“Talking. I talked to her all the time. About the family, about how Ethan was growing and it did form sort of a connection between us.” Sam took a moment to digest the information.
“So you think if I speak to Jordan, tell him about Rosie and about me, that it will feel better?” Luke nodded.
“It’ll still hurt, but it will take out most of the sting.” Sam nodded and stood up.
“Thank you, again Luke. This really did help.” Sam turned to go back to Loah, but Luke grabbed his arm.
“Sam, thank you for taking such good care of Loah, and making my little girl so incredibly happy.” Luke and Sam smiled at each other.
“Se is the best thing that has ever happened to me. I promise I will always treat her right.”
“I know you will.” Luke said. “Otherwise Noah’s going to kick your ass.” Sam chuckled and returned to Loah. Noah got up and sat next to Luke, gathering the blond in his arms. Luke looked up at Noah, expecting him to say something cheesy or really romantic, but instead Noah just brought his husband in for a tender, loving kiss and they spent the rest of the flight, content in each others arms.
AAAAND Chapter 7 is done!! Well was it ‘worth the wait’ or should I be more speedy next time? Please don’t hold back I want the honest, brutal truth.
