Like You (c) Evanescence
Three years, three painful years since it happened. Since the day Sasuke died. Sakura didn’t know how she survived those lonely years. Ino tried to cheer her up, so did Hinata, Temari and Tenten, but it just wasn’t the same. Everything was so empty without Sasuke. His rare secretive smile, or how he would lean in and whisper something funny into her ear before kissing her cheek and grinning at her happily; it was the little things that made her smile when she was alone in her house, or like know, standing at his grave, buried next to his parents. Tears stung Sakura’s eyes.
“Uchiha Sasuke,” Sakura whispered, falling to her knees and feeling the grooves where the kanji was carved into the stone. “Caring friend and loving boyfriend, you will be missed,” she read sadly. She placed a rose on the ground, before kowtowing to it. Ever since his death, she had adopted his clan name and symbol. Nobody refereed to her Haruno Sakura; they now called her Uchiha Sakura. Sakura explained to her parents that it was what she wanted, and though her parents didn’t like it, they allowed their daughter to change her clan name. “I miss you Sasuke,” she whispered sadly. “I miss you so much, but its all going to be over soon. Soon, I’ll kill Itachi and bring his severed head back to Konoha and we’ll finally be at peace,” Sakura whispered, before pulling out a picture. It was of her and Sasuke at Naruto’s thirteenth birthday party, a few days before Sasuke died. She pulled out a shuriken and rammed the point into the stone pinning the picture to it. “So…so you’ll remember me, Sasuke,” she whispered. “I love you Sasuke,” she wiped tears away before getting up and walking off.
Stay low
soft, dark, and dreamless
far beneath my nightmares and loneliness
I hate me
for breathing without you
I don't want to feel anymore for you
Hinata knocked on Sakura’s door, only to find it swung open easily. “Sakura? Sakura?” Hinata took a tentative step in. Naruto poked his head in over her shoulder.
“Maybe she’s not home?” Naruto said. Hinata activated her Byakugan.
“No, she’s home,” Hinata said and looked at Naruto, she saw him naked. “Oh…” she blushed and turned her Byakugan off.
“Are you alright Hinata-chan?” Naruto asked. Hinata nodded and walked in. Naruto turned and beckoned his teacher inwards. Kakashi, Hinata and Naruto all walked up to Sakura’s room. Hinata took a deep breath and knocked on the door. It swung open easily. There was Sakura, with a kunai in her hand, and her wrists bleeding and tears streaming down her face.
“Sakura!” Naruto shouted and ran to her, and covered her bloody wrists. “Sakura, what’s wrong? Why are you doing this to yourself?” Naruto asked.
“I made up my mind, Naruto,” Sakura looked at him with hollow eyes. “I’m going to kill Itachi.” Naruto, Hinata and Kakashi gasped.
“No! You can’t!” Naruto grabbed her shoulders. “Sakura! Itachi…Itachi is an S-rank criminal! Let Granny Tsunade take care of him! Don’t go looking for him! He’ll kill you!” Naruto said.
Sakura turned her cold hollow green eyes onto Naruto, before giving him a mirthless laugh. “Itachi, kill me? Like he killed his own brother? Get real Naruto! I’ve trained for this day! And even if I do die, I’ll welcome it! Because then, I’ll be with Sasuke, we’ll be together. And his brother won’t be able to harm us! I may not be Uchiha by blood, but I know I’m Uchiha. I’m the last of Sasuke’s clan…our clan,” she said distantly. “I’m already dead Naruto. My soul is dead…my body is just a shell, a shell that keeps on living with no emotions whatsoever,” Sakura looked at her best friend. “I’m sorry, but I died the day Sasuke died.”
Grieving for you
I'm not grieving for you
nothing real love can't undo
and though I may have lost my way
all paths lead straight to you
Kakashi stepped forwards. “Sakura, please think about what your saying. Don’t go chasing Itachi. Sasuke wasted his life trying to kill his brother and—”
“And it got him killed! I don’t care! I’ll die one day! Better make it sooner rather than later because I’ll go mad without Sasuke!” Sakura screamed, tears rolling down her face. “I’ll go mad without him! Hell! I’m already going mad!” She tossed the kunai away, and wrapped her arms around herself. “I miss him so much!”
I long to be like you
lie cold in the ground like you
“Sakura,” Kakashi looked at her, and shoved Naruto out of the way, gentle. The jounin took the girls hands and looked at her. “Sakura, its okay to miss Sasuke. I miss Sasuke, Naruto misses Sasuke, even Hinata misses Sasuke,” Kakashi sighed. “But, please don’t through your life away on revenge,” Kakashi said.
“I have to do this, Kakashi-sensei, I have to. Not only for myself, but for Sasuke,” Sakura said and pulled her hands free of her teacher’s hands. “Please everyone leave, I want to be alone,” Sakura said. Everyone but Hinata left. Sakura looked up at Hinata. “Please Hinata,” Sakura said. Hinata sighed.
“Sakura, just…just to make Naruto-kun have to say good-bye to another one of his friends,” Hinata said softly and left. Sakura sighed and she knew what she had to do.
Halo
blinding wall between us
melt away and leave us alone again
humming, haunted somewhere out there
I believe our love can see us through in death
Sakura sighed as she ran down the streets of Konoha, her pack heavy with supplies and her heart filled with determination. She left a quick note telling Hinata, Naruto and Kakashi not to come looking for her. She made her way out of Konoha, but she stopped at the graveyard to place on last rose on Sasuke’s grave. “Don’t worry Sasuke,” Sakura whispered. “I’ll avenge our clan. I’ll make sure Itachi paid for what he did to us, to your parents,” she kissed the rose before placing it on the ground. “I’ll be back soon Sasuke, hopefully…I won’t be standing on your grave but lying next to you,” she sighed. “I love you Sasuke,” she smiled before leaving the Village Hidden in the Leaves.
I long to be like you
lie cold in the ground like you
there's room inside for two and I'm not grieving for you
I'm coming for you
Itachi looked around, it was a beautiful day. Suddenly kunai came flying at him and the Uchiha prodigy dodged it quickly. “And I was beginning to feel like it was going to be a good day too,” Itachi sighed and turned to face his opponent. He smirked when he saw Sakura. “Well, well, well, if it isn’t my brother’s little cherry blossom, I haven’t seen you since my brother died,” Itachi said.
“Shut up if you know what’s good for you!” Sakura shouted. Itachi pinched the bridge of his nose.
“You are just like my brother sometimes,” Itachi shook his head.
“Just shut up, stand still and let me kill you!” Sakura shouted.
“Yep, exactly like my brother,” Itachi sighed. “Tell me Sakura, do you honestly think you can kill me?” Itachi said.
“I’ve been training for this encounter ever since you killed Sasuke!” Sakura screamed. Itachi shook his head.
“I didn’t kill Sasuke, Sasuke killed himself. He ran into the gunpowder. It was his chidori that set it alight. I did nothing but sidestep,” Itachi said.
Sakura was silent for a moment: “LIAR!” she screamed, tears rolling down her cheeks. “YOU BLOODY LIAR! YOU KILLED SASUKE! YOU KILLED HIM! YOU MURDERED YOUR OWN BROTHER! HOW COULD YOU BE SO HEARTLESS?”
“Why are you wearing the Uchiha symbol?” Itachi asked.
“Because…I love Sasuke! And I’m keeping his memory alive! And its isn’t Haruno Sakura anymore, its Uchiha Sakura!”
“My brother was twelve, he was too young to marry,” Itachi said.
“I changed my clan name! So, in a sense, you murdered my clan! YOU MURDERED SASUKE!” Sakura screamed.
“You already stated that,” Itachi said.
“And now,” Sakura’s eyes narrowed, “I’m going to kill you.”
You're not alone
no matter what they told you you're not alone
I'll be right beside you forevermore
Itachi sighed and waited for her to charge, which she did, and she threw her shuriken and kunai at him, and even summon a couple of clones. But Itachi was crafty and he knew which was the real Sakura. “You think a couple of your clones can fool me Sakura? Sasuke tried that too, once,” Itachi said, blocking the weapons easily.
“Aaaarrrggghhh!” Sakura leapt and came down on top of Itachi. Itachi looked up and smirked, but he was a second too slow, and Sakura was able to cut his ear off.
“You little wench!” Itachi growled, as he looked at the girl. Sakura smirked as she got to her feet. She hadn’t felt this alive in years. She charged at Itachi, her bloodied kunai aiming for his heart. Itachi smirked, and lunged forwards, and he delivered a thrust into Sakura’s gut. She gasped and fell backwards, her kunai falling, blood poured out of her belly wound, and bubbled out of her mouth.
“Sa-Sa-Sasuke-k-k-k-kuuuun,” she gasped softly. Itachi blocked out the sun as the dying girl’s eyes fogged over.
“I’ll give you points for cutting off my ear,” he said before stabbing her in the heart.
I long to be like you, sis
lie cold in the ground like you did
there's room inside for two and I'm not grieving for you
and as we lay in silent bliss
I know you remember me
I long to be like you
lie cold in the ground like you
there's room inside for two and I'm not grieving for you
I'm coming for you
Rain poured down on Naruto, but he didn’t care. He was standing at the graves of his two closest friends. Haruno Sakura and Uchiha Sasuke. Tears rolled down his face as he fell to his knees, placing a rose on each of their graves. “Sakura,” he shook his head. “We miss you, your parents miss you, Kakashi misses you, Ino, Hinata, Tenten, and Temari miss you, even Rock Lee misses you,” Naruto said. “But most of all, I miss you,” Naruto sighed. “I had a crush on you…once,” Naruto muttered. “But that was a long time ago, I once wished you’d look at me the way you looked at Sasuke…but…that was also a very long time ago,” Naruto sighed.
“Naruto-kun?” Hinata whispered. It had been seven years since Sakura’s death and Naruto and Hinata were married.
“I’m coming Hinata,” Naruto said. “I’m just catching them up on what they missed,” Naruto smiled weakly. Hinata nodded and left. “Hinata and I got married,” he smiled. “We keep the Uchiha mansion…nice. Itachi’s dead. I killed him. He nearly got me, but,” Naruto laughed sadly. “That demon fox came in handing and I was able to defeat him,” Naruto placed his hand on Sasuke’s grave. “You vengeance is finally given, my friend, and who knows, they say that the Sharingan came from the Byakugan…maybe one day in the future, a Hyuga will be born with the Sharingan…” Naruto sighed. “There still maybe an Uchiha out there, who knows.” Naruto looked at Sakura’s grave. “I did Sakura…I killed Itachi…I did it for you and Sasuke,” Naruto sighed once more. “I’m Hokage now,” he looked at them. “But…its not the same…because…I never wanted to be Hokage without my friends,” he sighed before getting up. “I miss you guys so much…but you two are finally together…forever,” he wiped his tears before walking away.
The squeal to Hello. I have debated about writing a third enstalment focusing on Naruto and Hinata's life AFTER this one, called My Immortal, where he remembers all the good times he had with Sasuke and Sakura before they died. What are you guys' thoughts?
Once again, I think this is one of the best song-fics I've ever written. Its just so beautiful! *cries*
ZOMFG! Itachi lost an ear! Hahahaha!
Note: This is before I read Shippuden or really caught up with Naruto anyways, so forgive my mistakes. But, hey, its fanfiction.
Happy Birthday to me!
R'n'R or I'll cut your ear off like Sakura did to Itachi!

PS: Sorry Ita-kun!
