Disclaimer: Nope. Don't own anything. At all.

Caitlyn left the next day, and once again, I was left alone. I walked back to my room for the millionth time that day, and lay down on the floor.

While lying there, I processed every piece of advice that had been given to me over the past week. It seems like every single one of my friends—even my mother, didn't want me to go out with Shane.

Sure he made me feel like I was the most important person in the world, but I wasn't acting like myself when I was with him. I sacrificed my virginity for a guy, and I can't take it back (actually, I can—but you get the point).

I groaned and rolled over so I was lying on my stomach, debating on whether or not I should stay with Shane, because ultimately, the decision is mine. I ran my hands through my hair before reaching over and grabbing my phone.

I scrolled through my contacts list and pressed the dial button and holding the phone up to my ear.

"Hello?" Shane asked when he answered the phone.

"Hi, can we talk?" I asked.

"Sure," He said.

I bit my lip before saying, "I don't know if I can do this, Shane."

"What do you mean?"

"I don't know if I can go behind Jemma's back, she doesn't deserve that, and I'm just not that girl. I can't be that girl." I sighed.

"Fine then, I'll break up with her. Please, Mitch, just give us a chance." He pleaded. I shut my eyes and took a deep breath before speaking again, "Shane, no. It's not fair to her, it's easier like this."

"How's it easier, Mitch?" He practically yelled at me. Tears stung my eyes and I sighed again, "I don't know, Shane. It just is, I'm so sorry."

"Yeah, whatever, Mitchie." Dial tone. I looked at my phone and realized he hung up on me, great. I rubbed my eyes and got up, walking out of the room and into the kitchen.

Mal was sitting on the island, a bag of Fritos in her hand, completley lost in space. "Hey," I gave her a weak smile. She snapped out of her daze and hopped off the island, heading for the door, so I grabbed her wrist, "Wait! I want to talk to you."

She turned and sighed, "Fine. What do you want?" I led her back to the island and took a seat on one of the chairs, "Okay, what I'm about to tell you, you can't tell anyone else, promise?" She rolled her eyes, but nodded, "Okay, so last week, after we had that horrible fight, and after you guys went to dinner, Shane came over, and we," I paused and took a deep breath, "We, h-had sex. The next day I freaked out and called Shane because I didn't think we'd used protection, and he said we didn't. I was scared, and I couldn't talk to you, or Miley, or anyone, so I called Caitlyn, that's why she was here yesterday. But before she came I got my period, so I'm not pregnant. Me and Caitlyn chatted for a while and she told me to really consider my relationship with Shane. So after she left that's what I did." I took a deep breath before I finished, "I broke up with him this morning."

"What am I? The last person to know?" She snorted, and looked at the bottom of her bag of chips before throwing it in the trash can, I shook my head, "No. You're the first. Mal, listen to me, you are my best friend."

She shook her head, "I doubt it." I snorted, but lifted up the sleeve of my jacket to show her what was resting on my wrist, "Look at this, Mal. Tell me what this is." I demanded.

"It's the friendship bracelet I gave you for you seventh birthday," She whispered, almost amazed, "Why do you still have it?" She asked. I chuckled, "Hello, you gave it to me. I value our friendship. You're the one who helped me get over that stupid guy, Danny in the sixth grade when he dumped me. You're the one who helped me cram all night for our math final because I was scared of failing, and I'm pretty sure we weren't even in the same type of math class. You were the one I went to when my dad left. And you're the one who helped me become Torrey Em. You're my best friend, not Miley, not Caitlyn, not Lilly, you."

I hadn't even realized that I was crying until I saw the tears drop on to the table. I looked at Mal to see she was crying too. We just sat there, staring at each other, then for some reason, started giggling, which turned into hysterical laughter. I gripped the marble of the island as pain made it's way to my stomach and more tears fell from my eyes.

I got off the chair and pulled Mal into the hug, "Do you forgive me?" I asked hopefully. She giggled and broke out into a huge smile, "After that speech, who couldn't? I'm sorry for being a major drama queen. I should know that I'm your best friend, and vice versa. I love you , Mitch. But in a friend-slash-sister way."

I smiled, "I sister love you too, Mal." She pulled away from the hug and swung her arm around my shoulder, "Anything else that you left out?" I groaned then laughed, swinging my arms around her too, "Oh, you have no idea."

After a three hour chat with Mal, I walked across the hall and knocked on the door. Lilly opened it and smiled, "Hey, Mitchie, what's up?" I shrugged, "Nothing really, is Mile in there?" I asked, she nodded and swung the door open before heading off to the kitchen.

I walked in and saw Miley laying face down on Mal's bed; purple earbuds lodged in her ear. I awkwardly walked over to her and tapped her on the back, she looked up and took the buds out of her ear, "Yes?"

"Can we talk?" I asked. She nodded and patted the spot next to her. I laid down next to her, "I'm just gonna get straight to it. Miles, you were right. I mean not about the whole desperate thing, but about Shane. It just wasn't our time. I became someone other than me, and I'm just really sorry."

Miley smiled and tossed her iPod aside, "No problem, Mitch. I'm sorry too, for all the things I said. Friends?" She asked. I grinned, and hugged her, "Always. But, dude, I have so much to tell you!"

I started from the fight with Mal, to the phone call with Shane, the talk with my mom, Shane's visit, my worries, Caitlyn's visit, the makeup with Mal to the talk we were having now.

Miley just sat there mouth gaped open, then she ju,ped up so fast I fell halfway off the bed, so I was upside down, "What's with the jumpy?" I asked.

"Girl you are in need of a mega fun sleepover." She paused and started to count off the things she needed, she was halfway out the door before she turned to me, "Are you coming? We're gonna need all the people we can get to move that coffee table." I shook my head, "I'll be there in a minute."

I got up and walked across the hall back into my bedroom and picked up my Torrey Em trunk. I pulled out my wig and examined it. I don't know if I'll ever tell the world about Torrey. Maybe she should disappear into the background, because now, it was Mitchie's time to shine.

Authors note: Well, that's it. Then end. I hope you guys liked it. And sometime in August, I'll be rewriting this. But until then, please review!

PS. Look out for Afterlife Enchantment because that's the next story on my update list.
