My sequel to Is It Love or Is It Magic!!!! YAY! Mind you this is only the first chapter and probably won’t be updated so often, because now I am juggling writing 3 stories!! Plus I am expecting a lot of homework and stuff soon, and I will be at rehearsals all week long till about 7, and my show is on Friday and Saturday! But I will write my chapters in a notebook so I don’t lose my ideas. Enjoy and I won’t put up a new chapter until I get some reviews!!! :D Beginning in Fred’s POV!!!
I rang the door bell to Faith’s apartment. I checked my phone. We had over 10 minutes to walk a 5 minute walk to the bus-stop. Her scary muscular looking guardian answered the door, glaring at me. I shrank away. At first Faith said he was her dad, but the day after the dance, she explained about her being a princess of Lynnox and stuff. Whatever. I mean, I seriously believed her, but who cares? She still looks and acts human. She was human.
“Just a sec! Gotta – get – some – new – boots – soon!” I heard Faith yell in her Okie-Twang. Her accent always made me feel kinda… weird on the inside. I don’t know why really. Again, whatever. Her guardian stepped back for Faith.
Her hair was bouncy and blonde, and went a little above her shoulders. Her blue eyes were as blue as the ocean and she had a few freckles on her nose. She smiled genuinely at me. Today Faith wore her usual plaid Cow Girl shirt, denim jeans, and cowboy boots. She grabbed my hand and began running to the bus stop.
“Come on!” Faith yelled. I didn’t want to tell her I was actually early today, so I just ran with her. Once we got to the bus stop, there was hardly anyone there, so we just basically talked. Then Joe, Jade, Sam, and Selena came. We all hanged out until the first bell.
“And an example of a hinge joint may be…” Blah blah blah our first hour teacher droned on and on about I don’t know what. I recently began struggling more in this class, since I sat next to Faith. I looked over at her and saw she was drawing a really accurate and pretty picture of a castle nestled between to hills. Then there were three people right outside of the castle smiling. It was a man and woman, and a child. The child was Faith.
“Faith?” I heard the teacher say. “Faith!” Faith snapped back into reality.
“A tendon connects muscle to bone!” She blurted out. The whole class burst out laughing. The teacher looked peeved. She even put a hand on her hip. The other hand pointed to the door.
“Someone is here for you, bring your stuff too Faith, I believe you are dismissed for the day.” Faith got her stuff and left. I saw a women in the doorway. She had deep orange hair, that fell in stylish waves around her pretty face. She had emerald green eyes, and full lips. She was also wearing a very fashionable outfit. But despite all that, she looked frightened and shaken. And very pale. When Faith left the room I heard the person talking.
“Wha? What happened! How did this…?” The women interrupted her. Then Faith forcefully said, “No! Find them! What am I supposed to do? I can’t –“ The women interrupted her again. “But Loretta! My life here! What do I do about that?! No!” So the woman’s name was Loretta, and I could tell Faith was crying now. “I – I can’t Loretta! My folks, they –“ I didn’t hear anymore of the conversation.
Faith’s POV:
I stepped into the hallway smiling. It was Loretta! She was my aunt, only about 5 years older than me though. We were best friends in Lynnox.
“Loretta! I’m so glad to see you! What’s up? How are my parents?” Loretta looked distressed.
“Actually… I came to talk about your parents. They’re missing.”
“Wha?” Loretta sighed.
“Yes.”
“What happened! How did this…?” I could feel tears streaming down my face.
“They went in search of some friends who could help us a few weeks ago. Then the people who they were searching for came to the kingdom yesterday. We asked where the two were, and they said they never saw them.” I felt like I just fell into a deep, deep abyss. I grabbed Loretta’s slender arm and tried to fight back a crying fest.
“No! Find them! What am I supposed to do? I can’t –“
“You will take over the kingdom, even when your parents come back.” I felt panicked.
“But Loretta! My life here! What am I supposed to do with that?! No!” I could barely see. I wiped my gold speckled tears away. Yes, my tears contained gold. It was a gift from our goddess, Neva.
“Then you will rule until they get back. If they get back.” I shook my head in denial.
“I- I can’t Loretta! My folks, they – “ Loretta grabbed my wrists.
“Enough!” She whispered. “We will settle all the details later, but until then, we must get to Lynnox!”
Loretta closed her eyes in concentration and we faded away.
