Amita was in a hurry to get back down to her office. She had to drop off her laptop case and then go meet Charlie. They would be spending the evening at a bar with the team, who had finally found a night off. They were going to actually celebrate Charlie’s birthday.

She was a little frustrated as she felt a light tap on her shoulder. She whipped around, to find Susan Berry staring up at her.

“What?” She said, much too harshly.

“Do you have a minute?”

“Not exactly.” Amita answered, and tried to turn back around. Susan grabbed her shoulder.

“Well, where is it your going?”

“Charlie and I are going to a bar with a couple friends. I’m keeping them waiting…”

“How about I just kick you in the stomach? It’ll do the same thing, no wont it?”

“I wasn’t planning on drinking…” Amita then remembered this was Susan she was talking to here. “Wait- what do you know and how?”

“All there is to know, I suppose. Especially that Charlie will do the right thing.”

“Which is marrying his pregnant fiancé,” Amita turned around and kept walking. Susan followed her. “Are you trying to get him back or something?”

“You know, your state of constant fear is a pre-occurring sign low level paranoid skitsofrania.”

Amita rolled her eyes and sped up her pace a little, until she reached her office. “Goodbye and goodnight. Lovely talking to you, Susan.” She said sarcastically.

During the time he should have been thinking about his cognitive emergens work, Charlie Eppes was thinking about what Liz had told him all those hours ago. I can’t believe she had lied to me. How could she?! I have to confront her…. I really have no other choice.
