Disclaimer: I don’t own YJ, Tim, Kon, Cassie, or Seventeen.

Characters: Kon-El, mentions of Tim Drake, Cassie Sandsmark

Pairing: Tim/Kon pre-slash

Notes: I got this idea flipping through my sister’s Seventeen, when I read through this quiz and was like “OMG that’s so Tim/Kon!” Yes, I’m that pathetic. Anyway, this takes place during YJ, shortly after the mess with Bedlam, so they all know Tim’s name. Please feel free to point out any canon errors. This is my first YJ story, and I don’t those like I do the Teen Titans run, so I might make mistakes. Con-crit welcome, as always.

Stupid Girly Quizzes

---

Kon was bored. He was bored and had nothing to do. No one was at Headquarters except him (and see if he ever showed up early again), and there were no crises to stop. He needed something to do before he went totally out of his mind with boredom.

Wandering into the common room, he spotted a magazine on the end table. Seventeen--definitely one of Cassie’s. Kon figured even reading a girly magazine was better than expiring from being bored, he began flipping through.

Girly articles, more girly articles, oooh, hot models!! More girly articles, more hot models. He was beginning to think he would have been better off being bored to death (the ratio of hot models to girly articles was skewed—too few models) when he saw it.

Is it love—or just a hot crush?

Well, that was the question. Was he majorly crushing on his best friend, or was it something more? He had been wondering about this since... well, a long time. But it was made abundantly clear to him when they had gone through that mess with Bedlam. Even when he was Conal Westfield--who had never met Tim Drake or Robin in his life--being around Tim made him feel better, like they had a chance of stopping Bedlam. It wasn’t until they had put the world to rights that he could remember why.

Why not, he thought, and kept reading.

I feel really good about myself when I’m around him.

Well, duh. Everyone felt good around Tim. He was freaking awesome. Half the time, Kon felt good around him because he was still alive and it was Tim’s doing. The rest of the time, it was because Tim had done something very Timmish. Like knocked Slo-bo down a peg with his dry humor, or beaten the crap out of him on the practice mats, or kicked Bart’s butt at a video game, or taken off his mask, or smiled for real. Or most recently, when Tim had come back to the group and he actually knew his name was Tim instead of having to call him Rob or Alvin. That was pretty awesome.

His annoyance with the secret identity thing had first been at Robin, for being so secretive. But then he got to know the person behind the mask (so to speak, as this was before he was allowed to take the mask off), and they became best friends, and he realized that Robin wanted to tell them his name, and chafed like crazy under Batman’s restrictions. At that point, Kon had shifted his irritation to Batman, for making Rob keep his secret identity secret from them when it clearly bothered him.

He knew Tim’s name now, though. They all did. Which was awesome. So that was a yes to the first question.

We could spend all night talking and never run out of stuff to say.

Emphatically yes to that one. They had done that at least a dozen times.

I want him to meet important people in my life, like my parents and grandparents.

Well, that was an awkward question. Kon didn’t have parents or grandparents. But he knew Superman liked Tim, and did always feel proud whenever he thought of that, so maybe that counted.

He’s like my best friend—only I like making out with him.

Once again, duh. Tim was his best friend in the entire universe. And he didn’t actually know if he’d like making out with him, but it was one of his favorite fantasies. That one was a definite yes.

I’ve seen him at his worst (like after he’s lost a big game) and I still think he’s amazing.

Well, he hadn’t actually seen Tim at his worst, but he’d heard about it. In the all-night conversation from question 2, they’d talked about everything imaginable. Tim had told him about the time he had the Clench (and that made him cold all over, just thinking about how close Tim came to dying), and the thing with Azbats, and every time he felt he’d failed because he couldn’t save everyone. His worst was considerably worse than losing a big game, but Tim was still the most amazing person Kon had every met. Yes to that one too.

I’m totally comfortable around him, and I’m not afraid to say what I think to him.

Tim was the one person in YJ who didn’t make him feel like an idiot when he had an opinion about something. Even if it was stupid, Tim never made him feel stupid. So, yes.

I want to tell him everything: he’s the first person I call when something big happens.

Not call, per se. And not something big. He told Tim everything that happened, on the weekends since he didn’t really have a phone number for him. But it counted, he guessed.

We’ve fought, but we worked it out and listened to each other.

Oh man, Apokalips. That was a doozy of a fight, and Kon had worried that he’d lost his best friend forever. And over something dumb, like Batman being Batman. That was pretty stupid of him. But Tim forgave him, and then even had the nerve to apologize for having to keep his identity a secret. Jerk. But yes, to this question too.

I’m ok making sacrifices for him, like giving up a date so he can study. He does that for me too.

That was like the question about “seeing him at his worst, like after a big game.” Kon would do a lot more than give up a date so Tim could study. He’d die for Tim, and he knew Tim would do the same. It was scary to think of that happening, but that was one thing he was certain about. Yes again.

If you answered yes to more than seven, it’s love, girl!

Kon answered yes to all nine. It was official. He was in love with his best friend.

Crap.
