And we find out why Morgan's not a Senshi. I hope it makes sense.

Chapter Twelve

Rei was chasing after Lily Kaioh. Lily ducked under the table giggling, while Kaimu and the twins ran off in the other direction with some very expensive fine china. Lily was holding onto the china bowl tightly, as Rei neared her. She was just in reach when Lily dashed out from underneath the table and toward one of the bedrooms. Zori came out from behind, trying to get past his mother but she picked him up and took the china cup away from him.

“Go to your room now! And don’t come out!” Rei barked. The little boys eyes began to water and he quickly obeyed his mother. Rei went to step inside the room where Lily had entered when suddenly a little boy came out, stepping on her foot.

“Ouch!” Rei screamed as she made an attempt to grab her second son, but he got out of her grasp.

“Alex James Hino! Come back-” she stopped in mid sentence. It was hopeless. Alex never listened to her.

Morgan came in to see what all the ruckus was about. She shook her head when she saw Lily hiding under the bed, “Haruka-papa isn’t going to be very happy about this Lily.”

Lily wiggled out from underneath the bed and handed back the China wear, “Orry.” She followed Morgan out and she sat her down on the couch.

“Don’t move from here, if you do, I’ll tell Haruka-papa you were very bad.” Morgan said.

Lily’s hands went to her bottom, “No spanky.” She whined. “No, no, no.”

“Then stay here.” Morgan said. “Kaimu Kaioh, you better listen to Miss. Hino. Haruka-papa won’t hesitate to give you a spanking.”

Kaimu came out immediately followed by Alex. Alex looked terrified, “I don’t want a spanking.”

“Well, then go to your room now.” his mother said coming up behind him. “Otherwise, I’ll be the one dealing out the spankings this time.”

Alex nodded and bolted to his bedroom after setting down the China on the floor. Alex would choose her dad’s spankings over his mother’s any day. She sometimes used a wooden spoon and that always left a sting on Alex’s bottom. Kaimu went and sat down next to his little sister. He knew he didn’t want to receive any spankings when he got home, he just hoped it wasn’t too late.

“Thank you, Morgan.” Rei heaved a sigh of relief. If it wasn’t for Morgan being here she wouldn’t know what to do. Apparently, Haruka dealt the spankings in the Kaioh-Tenoh household.

“You’re welcome Mrs. Hino.” Morgan said and walked back into the living room to check on Kaimu and Lily. Both of them were angry with her so she ended up sitting on the other couch.

Over the past year and a half things had slowly began to change. At first, Haruka wouldn’t deal with punishments that dealt with Kaimu and Hikaru. Michiru always did because she was softer and after what they had been through they needed a softer punishment. Kaimu, though, had received his first spanking from Haruka not long ago. Though, Morgan thinks she went too easy on him, Kaimu quickly learned that he did not want spankings. Morgan loves to use it as a threat now. The only one she couldn’t use it on was Hikaru.

Morgan sighed, as she thought about a conversation she had overheard. Aito had came over, he wanted to see his children after two years of abandoning them. At first, Michiru was deadest against it, but Aito was able to guilt trip and threaten Michiru about taking the children permanently.

“Why can’t you just leave it alone, Aito? You’ve not been in their lives for the past two years. And what about your other daughter Lily?” Michiru asked.

“She’s all yours. I want nothing to do with a child still in diapers. I want to see my two eldest children. I had to get my life back together after being married to you.” Aito said.

“Don’t even go there, you chose to stay. The door was always open.” Michiru pointed out.

Aito straightened up his jacket, “Please, I want to see my children. The laws still work against you Michiru. No matter where you live, as long as one of us lives outside the palace everything will be dealt with outside. Neo-Queen Serenity can still do nothing. You’re still vulnerable so I’d play my pieces carefully.”

“I don’t think it’s a good idea.” Michiru said, and was about to shut the door.

“Ask the children themselves then?” Aito finally said. “Kaimu!”

Kaimu was quick to come upon hearing his father’s voice, “Would you like to come over sometime and spend time with me?”

Kaimu nodded, but didn’t say anything. Michiru sighed and Aito smirked.

“I’ll see you soon little buddy.” Aito said and shut the door.

Haruka turned to Michiru, “You can’t just let him take the children back.”

“There’s nothing I can do, Haruka. He still has some minor parental rights. He’s allowed to see his children.” Michiru sighed. “I was just hoping he’d want nothing to do with them after the divorce. I guess he’s not done torturing me yet.”

“Isn’t he married?” Haruka asked.

Michiru nodded.

“Well, hopefully she’s not as callous as Aito.” Haruka said and took the blue haired women into her arms. “It’s going to be okay. Maybe he has changed. Let us hope.”

The children walked across the desert terrain thirsty, hungry, and covered in head to toe in dirt. Keira kept hoping for a lake to appear, but no such thing was present. She tried hard to keep a calm mind about being covered in dirt and germs. She had kept quiet since they started walking. She wanted to be back home with her parents and annoying little twin brothers.

Chibi Uranus froze when she thought she saw something up ahead. The other girls collided into her. “Ouch.” Skylar moaned. “Why’d you stop like that?”

“Does anyone think it’s possible for a Senshi to go completely crazy?” Chibi Uranus asked.

Everyone was quiet for a moment and finally Chibi Venus spoke up, “I’m sure it is. We may be Senshi’s, but we’re still vulnerable to things of the human world.”

“We have eternal life, though.” Lilac pointed out. She had decided she’d rather be in her civilian form then in her Senshi form. Though Chibi Venus and Chibi Uranus had told her she needed to stay transformed they couldn’t make her do what they asked.

“Yes,” Chibi Venus said. “We, as Senshi’s have…” Chibi Venus paused as she thought about her younger siblings.

“Which would mean anyone who is not a Senshi dies.” Lilac said bluntly.

Chibi Venus nodded, but didn’t speak anymore. Chibi Uranus was deep in thought as well. Her sister would die someday. Even little Lily would pass on, and Kaimu. That was a lot of deaths they’d have to experience. She sighed deeply.

“Why was I chosen to be a Senshi? It makes sense that Morgan would’ve been a Senshi, correct?” Chibi Uranus asked suddenly. “She’s the oldest, it only makes sense that she would be Chibi Uranus. Not me.”

Chibi Venus put a comforting hand on Chibi Uranus’ shoulder, “Maybe there were two paths written. One with you being a Senshi and the other with your sister being a Senshi. Perhaps, the one where you were a Senshi showed more leadership skills and qualities of being the next Uranus Senshi. Maybe Morgan’s future just didn’t show her having the capabilities of her being a Senshi. The question may never truly be answered.” Chibi Venus said, though as she said it, it hurt her. Morgan Tenoh was one of her best friends and she wouldn’t be making these journeys with them ever. Chibi Venus’ mind ventured back to when they were discovering everything out. Sure, they knew the truth about the Senshi’s and that they had eternal lives. They didn’t know the history about their parents as Senshi’s though.

Flashback

“What do you think about the Sailor History’s?” Taylor asked as she took the book back from Morgan.

Morgan tilted her head back, her long orange hair falling back off her shoulders, “I know this. I do not want it.”

“But Morgan, eternal life. You get to be with your parents for life.” Isamu pointed out. “I’m already positive that my little sister will be the next Senshi of our household. Did you read about the Princess in it? They mentioned Lady Jupiter, also known as Makoto Kino. That’s my mom. I’m sure Lilac will be the next Jupiter.”

Morgan sighed, “Yes, but think of all they’ve endured and we’re granted eternal life, but we can still die. Hikaru will be the next Senshi in line for the Neptune’s.”

“Yes, so?” Isamu said defensively. “You’re more of a proper choice to be the next Senshi of Uranus. Don’t you see it?”

“Yes, but I don’t want it. I’ll already be seeing their troubles from afar, isn’t that enough? Hana should be the next Senshi of Uranus, as it would make more sense. Hikaru’s friends with Ginny Tomoe, Lilac Kino, and Hana Tenoh. If I become the Next Senshi Hana will die, I don’t want to see my younger sister die. I would rather pass on, then watch my baby sister die.”

“But…Morgan, death is apart of life. Why would you foolishly give up your right to be the next heir of Uranus?” Isamu asked.

“It’s my decision, right?” Morgan asked.

A small little kitten piped in, “Yes, it’s rightfully Morgan’s choice. If she wants to pass the responsibilities of being a Senshi over to her younger sister then she may.”

Isamu didn’t say anything after that. It was hopeless to get Morgan to see that she needed to be the next Senshi in line, but apparently she had already made the choice. Taylor had remained quiet, she wished she could do the same thing, but she knew she couldn’t. Her sister was too young and she wanted her to have a normal life. Taylor could see it from Morgan’s point of view as to why she’d want her younger sister to be the next senshi. They were all the same ages and they would be there for each other through thick and thin. It was hard to accept, but Taylor had to accept it for what it was. It was Morgan’s choice after all. She had been an expert over the years, always letting her sister out win her in any sport. Morgan had incredible speed. She was far faster then her younger sister, but apparently she had made this decision long ago and was now only telling them.

She and Isamu agreed to keep it a secret for life. It was something Morgan wanted to carry to her deathbed and never be spoken of. Of course, it would always be Morgan’s choice.

“Chibi Venus!” Chibi Uranus snapped. Chibi Venus came out from her thoughts and realized the danger they were in.

“That stupid woman. When will she give up?” Chibi Venus shot out.

“I don’t know, but Skylar and Keira and the twins still haven’t received their powers. I wonder why not.” Chibi Uranus said.

“Chibi Jupiter Makeup!” Lilac’s clothes melted away and her Senshi Fuku appeared. The three of them prepared for the battle together, they didn’t know how many monsters there truly were, but they knew they were outnumbered by far.

“Earthquake Tremors!”

“Love Shock.”

“Sparkling Thunder Crisis!”

Together the attacks wipeout a large amount of monsters. They started focusing on another area. Skylar’s eyes widened in terror as the monsters they had just destroyed started multiplying in threes.

“Something’s wrong here guys. They multiply-”

Skylar couldn’t talk anymore as the monsters attacked them with the same three powers that Hana, Taylor, and Lilac had just attacked with. Chibi Pluto put up a shield around the twins just in time as everyone else took a blow.

Keira, Skylar, Chibi Venus, Chibi Uranus, and Chibi Jupiter lay on the ground hurting. There was a crackle in the sky. The five of them looked up to see the woman’s head had appeared in the sky.

“Come on, don’t you want to play my game? Keep attacking them, they’ll only grow stronger and stronger.” Lady Deidra cackled. “Ah, lets see, who do I want to kill next? Two down and seven more to go. Oh, this is just too good. The Chibi Senshi’s will die before they begin.”

“You think you’re so smart Lady Deidra, but you’re the stupidest person I’ve ever met.” Skylar said, getting to her feet. “Don’t you realize that by alternating the future you’re alternating it for yourself as well?”

“Yes, I’ll have my baby back with me and there will be no Chibi Senshi’s to stop me.” Lady Deidra smiled.

Keira gasped, as her mind raced unwillingly to a strange vision of the future. Lady Deidra was being overpowered by someone far stronger then her. They had her infant in their hands with a dagger at her throat. Lady Deidra was trying to get to her daughter, but they wouldn’t let her go. Lady Deidra’s screams filled Keira’s ears as the picture faded. Keira shuddered, at the thought of someone harming an infant.

“Your wrong, I just saw your baby being killed as an infant.” Keira shot out.

“Why can’t we work this out? Why are we enemies in the future anyway? You don’t seem like a bad person,” Skylar pointed out. “You just want your daughter back.”

“There’s nothing wrong with wanting your daughter back, but you can’t go and destroy other peoples lives. Maybe you should look at yours, there’s still time to change the future.” Maru said with a heavy sigh. “I wish my mom would fight for me like you fight for your daughter.”

Everyone looked at Maru with shock. “My mom barely looks at me when she returns home. She just sets her things down and says she’s tired. I don’t think my dad and her love each other anymore. I may lose both of them.” Maru’s eyes watered. A powerful wave of energy swept over them and out toward the enemies, each of them imploding and sinking back into the ground.

Lady Deidra’s mouth hung open. Maru had just destroyed her monsters. She quickly retreated just incase Maru decided to attack her. Maru sunk to the ground and everyone gathered around her.

“She must’ve worn herself out,” Skylar sighed.

“Well, yeah, I would too, if I just took out an army of a gazillion,” Chibi Uranus pointed out sarcastically with a bit of exaggeration.

“Why does she have powers like those?” Keira asked. “Aren’t they of darkness?”

“Does it actually matter where they come from? They just took out a complete army.” Skylar shot out rudely. “Don’t judge people you don’t know.”

Keira’s mouth hung open but she was stung by Skylar’s words to be able to speak. Chibi Venus was surprised that Skylar would be insensitive to her best friend. Not to mention Skylar had been severely judgmental in the very beginning. New friendships were forming, while others looked to be on the verge of ending. Though, Chibi Venus could see why Skylar and Hana would get along so well, they were both judgmental at times, and had extremely smart mouths. One thing was for sure, when they returned to the palace things would be very entertaining with these two.

Hikaru and Ginny had been traveling through the darkened tunnels for some time now. They were exhausted and tired of being by themselves. Why did they have to be separated from the group? Hikaru wondered what they were doing at this time. She hoped they were still moving on and not mourning over the fall. No one would’ve been able to survive that fall, Hikaru knew that.

“Hikar-” Ginny stopped speaking when she saw something glowing. They stopped and stared at the beautiful crystal.

“Wow!” Ginny exclaimed.

“What do you think it’s for?” Hikaru asked excitement rising up inside of her.

“I don’t know, but it’s too pretty to be of evil.” Ginny pointed out.

The girls stepped up inside the circle. The crystal reacted and a bright light shone all through the Palace. Ginny and Hikaru recognized what the crystal was, “This looks like the same crystal that was in our time.” Hikaru pointed out.

Ginny nodded, “Yeah, but last time bad things happened.”

“Perhaps, but maybe it wasn’t the crystal that did those things. Maybe someone was after it?” Hikaru prompted.

“Maybe…” Ginny said, still unsure.

Hikaru reached up and took the crystal in her hands, the shinning ceased. Hikaru was feeling a lot better since the fall. “Perhaps, it heals.”

Ginny nodded, but wouldn’t speak. If evil was after this crystal then they could be putting themselves in danger.

“What was that bright light?” screamed Lady Deidra.

“It seemed to be that of the Imperial Silver Crystal. Of course, those two little rascals that you didn’t go and check on are still alive.” an unknown voice spoke.

“What do you mean? There’s no way they could’ve survived that stupid fall. They’re dead. Don’t be so stupid.” Lady Deidra backfired. She walked out of the room. The man that she left alone smirked.

“And to think the future Chibi Mars warned her of her downfall.” laughter erupted from him uncontrollably. “Without the Chibi Senshi’s and their mother’s Lady Deidra doesn’t stand a chance.”

The ice coffins melted away, freeing the elders from their prisons. It took them a few moments to comprehend what was going on. Salene was the first to realize what was going on, she turned the Himeko of Mars and Nao of Mercury and ordered them to release their crystals before all hope was lost.

“We’ll try to aide them, but there’s no telling what Lady Deidra has planned once she realizes that we’ve been freed and that the Imperial Silver Crystal has been awaken.” Salene explained. “If you release your crystals, then the last two remaining Chibi Senshi’s will be able to receive their powers whenever they call on them.”

“The Future Chibi Mercury has already called upon her crystal.” Nao said. “I was unable to give it to her because of the ice.” Nao shut her eyes and released her crystal. Himeko followed suit.

Salene closed her eyes and released her crystal to Hailey. Once the crystals were released Helena of Uranus and Mihoko of Venus looked at Salene with curiosity. “How will the young boy receive his powers?”

“You’ll see.” Salene said answering Mihoko’s question.

“The twins already prove to have incredible powers, how will your powers contribute to theirs?” Helena of Uranus asked.

“They’re powers come from their mother, Neo-Queen Serenity. With the moon crystal Hailey will be able to do things that will suit her for the future.” Salene looked over at Himeko of Mars.

“Hailey, Celestial Moon is meant to have incredible powers. She’ll be putting herself in danger at a very young age. She’ll be the Celestial and the next generations to come investigator. You may ask, why not a Mercury senshi? Well, it’s in Hailey’s blood for whatever reason. She’ll go against everyone’s will, but she’ll prove herself worthy of what she does. Others will follow her, but Hailey will be unable to stop. The sense of adventure will always be in her blood. No children will aide her, she’ll always be alone, but she doesn’t stop long enough to think of what she has and doesn’t have.” Himeko explained.

“She’s the worlds top investigator in the future.” Helena of Uranus said in awe.

“She does pick up one trait from her mother though. She’s not always careful.” Mirai of Pluto stated.

Hands collided with foreheads, “Oh brother.”

Naomi of Neptune and Chiyemi of Saturn were in a fit of giggles.

Hailey and Mamoru were both holding the crystal in their tiny palms together. They giggled, tapped it and the crystal split in two. One transformed into a long, circular wand, and the other transformed into a Henshin Wand with the moon crescent on it.

The others watched in awe as Hailey and Mamoru both took the transforming devices into their hands. Bright shinning lights engulfed them and when it disappeared Chibi Moon and a warrior stood before them.

Skylar took the henshin wand that stood before her and raised it up, “Chibi Mercury Makeup!” A fog appeared and once it vanished Chibi Mercury stood there. Chibi Uranus quickly attacked her with a hug.

“Congratulations! And Welcome to the team!” Chibi Uranus beamed.

The others congratulated her as well. Keira just stood there, with a crystal in her hands. She tucked it in her pocket, hers hadn’t transformed into anything. It remained a crystal. She was envious of her best friend’s attention. She noticed how quickly Hana and Skylar had become friends and was wondering if this meant they were no longer best friends.

Chibi Venus had also welcome Chibi Mercury to the team, but she wasn’t as excited as the others were. She was concerned about Keira. Things had changed while Keira had been held captive and Chibi Venus had a feeling that Keira thought she was being replaced. Chibi Venus walked over to Keira and put a comforting hand on her shoulder,

“Hey,” Chibi Venus spoke.

Keira looked up at her. Her eyes misted, “I guess Skylar found a new best friend?”

Chibi Venus shook her head, “No, I don’t believe so. You two have always been there for each other for the past eight years. Things don’t change that quickly. Skylar’s just found that she can talk to other people. And yeah, Hana and Skylar are a lot alike, but it doesn’t change things. Skylar had been worried sick the entire time you were taken hostage. Trust me. I know.” Chibi Venus shook her head.

“I guess…” Keira said not convince. “The crystal didn’t turn into a henshin wand.”

“You have to really want it.” Chibi Venus explained. “Skylar’s been wanting hers for a while.”

“Oh.” Keira said. She started to walk nervously over toward her best friend. Chibi Venus watched from afar. Keira tapped on Skylar’s shoulder. A few words were exchanged and then Skylar gave her best friend a great big hug. The other children joined in on the group hug.

Chibi Venus smiled. It made sense now. Being the oldest would always be a good thing. If she and Morgan were Senshi’s together, she was certain nothing would’ve gotten done. She and Morgan would be too caught up talking to one an another and keeping things from the other children. Chibi Venus was glad that things had worked out like they had, though, she did have to wonder how Chibi Neptune and Chibi Saturn were doing.

The children started on their way again. Chibi Venus had a feeling the big battle was just about to begin. She wasn’t worried though, things would work out just fine.

Authors Note: Sorry for the long delays between each chapter. I’ve been busy with all sorts of things. My days off for the past two weeks I’ve actually been doing things. And when I do sit down I’m either writing down ideas for future chapters or drawing. I keep coming across writers block because the story is going to be ending shortly and though I know the ending I just want everything to be written correctly. I think after this story is completed I’m going to take a break. I have college coming up very, very quickly. So life is about to change completely.

Please Read: I’m changing around the stories. The next story was supposed to be time travel or something. And there was meant to be a story based around the Amazon’s, but I really, really, really want to write the story about Maru. Anyway, so I’m going to begin Dark Angel. I may write one shots after this, while I gear up for Dark Angel.
