Author's Note: Haldo all, 'tis me, Gokiburi Prince coming at you with Five Beast Sentai Giga Ranger. If this were a real animated Super Sentai Series, its English title would have to be …oh I don't know…Beast Rangers: G-Force or something like that. Anyway on to the story! Before we go though, here's a…
Note of Importance: Bucking Frilliance claims sole ownership to the OC known as Demi "Deathley" McClash, and as such, I am merely borrowing her for this and other chapters she may or may not appear in, and yes, Deathley is not her real first name. Speaking of ownership, if you want to use the Sky High Ritzy Glitz Hotel or Greater and Lesser Toonopolis in your fanfics, not that you would want to, just PM me. I'll give you permission on the condition that you have to credit me as the creator. This story is rated T for teens due to violence and/or character death in later chapters, so don't blame me if you have some beef with my story or me.
Disclaimer: I don't, nor will I ever, own the characters whose lives you are about to read in this story, except for Leslie's. Nintendo's Wii is © Nintendo, obviously.
Episode One: The Story Begins! Part One (スタート・アップ!ギガレンジャープロジェクト!前編)
The Sky High Ritzy Glitz Hotel: it's where every cartoon, comic, anime and video game character wants to be, if they can afford it that is. You see, the Sky High Ritzy Glitz Hotel is situated in Greater Toonopolis, also known as the "rich side of town". Cartoon, anime and video game characters whose respective shows and games were cancelled and lived in the slums of Lesser Toonopolis who couldn't afford to live in the Sky High Ritzy Glitz Hotel, or could only afford to rent a crappy one-bedroom suite with the broken ice machine across the hall could only gaze at this twenty-story behemoth and hope that one day, they too will be able to afford to live there one day. Our focus isn't on the slums, not now at least, but on the Sky High Ritzy Glitz Hotel.
"You want to know what, exactly, miss…?" asked a six-foot tall anthropomorphic cat. He wore green and purple spandex with a matching green cape. The front of his outfit was adorned with a paw print. Around his waist was a gold belt with a "G" on the front and a couple of belts were on his upper right leg. His name was Garzooka, the muscular superhero version of the normally fat orange cat named Garfield. By his side was a teenage dragon girl. She had silver scales and platinum blonde hair, which was the result of bathing in liquid mercury. She was wearing a classy navy sweater vest/dress combo with black hi-tops with white tips. Her name was Isolde Llewellyn.
"Oh, nothing important," a female vampire bat said. She had velvety black wings on her back (ala Rouge the Bat) with dirty blonde hair tied into a low ponytail. She had light-brownish swirls in her hair. Her fur was a very light brown, and had a patch of white fur on her stomach. Her eyes were a sparkling, beautiful sapphire blue. She was about the size of an average bat and is nineteen-years-old in human years. Her name: Deathley McClash, the Toonslayer. "Just how you got the money and to make this place the way it is. And you can call me Deathley, by the way."
"That…heh…that is a secret and you know it," said Garzooka. "But if you must know, it all began when I had a meal that I couldn't pay for…"
"I don't care if ya can work if off, if you can't pay, then get out of me restaurant."
"Don't you know who I am? I used to be someone in this city once. Be a pal, Eugene."
"Don't 'be a pal' me. No free food. Now, get out of me sight."
"Fine. I'll leave, but know this: you haven't heard the last of Garzooka, nosiree."
As Garzooka stormed out of the Krusty Krab, SpongeBob peeked out from the kitchen via the service window. "Gosh, Mr. Krabs, don't'cha think you were being too hard on the guy?"
"SpongeBob, that 'guy' was bad for business, what with his dinin' and dashin' and what not. Besides, why would I pay more for the extra assistance when I've got you and Squidward?"
"Well, okay, but it seemed a little harsh though."
"Just get back to work, boy."
"Yes, sir."
I can't believe that bastard Krabs would dis me like that, thought Garzooka. I used to get free meals at the Krusty Krab for as long as I can remember. Figures, though, that all Krabs ever thinks about is money. Just wish that there were a way to get a hold of some, and then I'd be set.
As Garzooka traversed the streets of Greater Toonopolis, he noticed a flier stapled to a telephone pole. It read:
TESTER NEEDED FOR SCIENTIFIC STUDY
Are you an out of work Toon? Need to get a hold of some money and fast? Then do we have the perfect job for you! We here at JyCorp are beta-testing a new videogame for the Nintendo Wii, named GoJuu Sentai Gigaranger. If you would like to participate in this extensive research, call us at 1-206-298-3710, or apply in person with this flyer at 1568 Cyberdrive Avenue. We will pay you handsomely for your assistance.
Huh, what an oddly helpful, yet specific, flyer, Garzooka thought. Maybe I'll give it a try.
"Wait a minute, just wait," Deathley interrupted.
"What is it?" Garzooka asked, slightly annoyed that he was interrupted in the middle of his story.
"You just expect me to believe that you just happened on a flier for videogame testing?"
Um…yeah, that what I was expecting you to believe. Now let me tell my story. Now where was I? Oh yeah, the flier. After reading it, I had decided to apply in person, so I ran to this 'JyCorp' place…"
"Ugh, this is hopeless. Thirty-four applicants and all of them failed to fully utilize the Giga Gold technology."
JyCorp, 3:23 p.m. A teenage Plusle girl was sitting at her desk with a Hercules Beetle-shaped wrist device. She and her brother, a teenage Minun boy, had a rough day, what with coming up short on prospective new test subjects.
"Don't worry, Sarah. I'm certain that an applicant will come through that any second," said the Minun boy. "We just have to be patient, that's all."
"I hope so, Jared," said Sarah, "or else we'll just have to tell Ms. Sharpivo that we failed, and we know how she feels about failure."
Just when the siblings were ready to give up and call it a day, Garzooka burst through the door, flier in hand, nearly knocking over some of the technological doodads in the process.
"Excuse me," Garzooka said, "is this where I can get my money?"
"Why, yes, sir," said Sarah, excited that someone finally answered the flier. "Yes, it is. If you would be so kind as to follow my brother, we'll get you started with the testing right away."
"So, after you went to JyCorp, what happened next?" Deathley asked.
"Well, after everything was sorted out, Leslie's assistants and I got to work testing the videogame. It was a rough couple of weeks, but I stuck it out and eventually…"
"Wow! I've never seen a power like Garzooka's before!" exclaimed Jared. "He's the only one who beat all the beta-stages, the bonus stages and the hundred fighter challenge. Is it time to tell him, or should we wait?"
"I think it would be best to wait to tell him," said Sarah. "Besides, he looks like he's having fun. Why spoil it?"
"After a few weeks of beta-testing, it was finally time to release the game to the public,' Garzooka related, "but I can't help but wonder what Sarah and Jared were talking about. Ah well. Now comes the interesting part…" Garzooka was suddenly interrupted again, this time by Isolde, who had received a phone call while Garzooka was talking.
"Mr. Garzooka, sir," Isolde reported, "I just received a call from a Ms. Sharpivo wanting to see you right away."
"Thank you, Isolde," replied Garzooka. "Join me, Ms. McClash, and I'll show you where I got my money, instead of telling you. Good thing too, as I have some questions about my being paid for those tests."
At JyCorp, Garzooka had just finished showing Deathley around the premises, and the pair's final stop was the Research and Development room, where Ms. Sharpivo had wanted to meet Garzooka regarding the training sessions, not to mention his getting paid.
"Well, this where Ms. Sharpivo said to meet her," said Garzooka. "I wonder what she looks like."
"She probably looks like one of those science nerds with the light blue lab coat and multi colored bow tie," Deathley joked.
"Yeah, probably," Garzooka replied with a slight chuckle. Just then, Sarah and Jared exited the lab, clipboards in hand.
"Garzooka and guest," announced Sarah, "presenting the leading lady in Project Giga Ranger: Ms. Leslie Sharpivo."

Next Time on Gojyu Sentai Gigaranger
Garzooka: What's this? Gigaranger is not only a video game, but it's real, and I actually get to save the world? Awesome! Wait, what's the catch? I have to train five others, as well? Fine, but only because I'm getting paid. I'm still getting paid, right? Next episode: Start Up! Giga Ranger project! Part Two. Don't miss it!
