Hey.
So this is my first multi-chapter story since Denver, Colorado.
It's been a while, haha.
I don't know how long this story will be.
I'll have quite a few chapters and some subplots.
I guess it might be a bit confusing at times.
I have to get back in the swing of things.
I can guarantee you three pairings.
I don't confirm how long they last.
Well, I hope you enjoy Summer.
Standard disclaimers apply.
Sixteen year old Hikari woke up at eleven thirty in the morning. It was a Thursday, the first day of summer vacation. Two months of the beach, free time, and having zero things to worry about. The first thing she did when she awoke was what she wanted to do every other day; she went right back to sleep. She hated her alarm clock, so thankfully she had put it away the night before since it was useless over the summer.
Today, her room filled with sunlight slowly moving across her floor, nearing her bed. The warm, summer heat filled her small room. Her older brother, Taichi, was away on the other side of the country finishing his first year of post-secondary, so her room was quite empty. She decided to sleep on the top bunk, his bunk, over the summer, because she did miss him and this was how she was going to be close to him. Unfortunately, she would always miss the bottom rail of the ladder going down and had fallen off a few times, give or take a few twisted ankles.
On her side table sat a group of photos in frames. The first, in a silver frame, was one of herself and all the Digidestined taken a year ago. On the right of that one was one of Miyako and Ken, at his soccer banquet. If you looked close enough you could see Daisuke in the background doing an interesting, for lack of a better word, pose. The one furthest from the front, on a far corner, was one of the sleeping girl and her spiky haired brother at Hikari's sixteenth birthday party. The last one was of her best friend, Takeru, in his basketball uniform, holding the game ball and wearing a gold medal. She took that photo the day his team won the championships. They became the best team in the country that day. This frame was right up front, closest to her, right beside her camera.

A few blocks away, near his building, the basketball star was already up and at the court where he was practicing his free throws. He had one initiative for each day of practice; to shoot twenty five baskets without hitting the rim in a row. For five years he's never done it, the highest he's gotten to is twenty four, and that was about a month ago, but he always thinks that this will be the day. Today is when I get that basket. Today is when I tell her, because he has a plan that only works if he can do it.
His plan, of course, simply revolved around him going right up to Kari and telling her how he felt. He knew he would never be able to do that because if he could then he wouldn't need the plan in the first place since he'd hope that she'd already be his girlfriend. Not that being best friends was a bad thing. Takeru would take what he could get. But, if he was able to make the shot, he was able to get the courage to tell her. Instead, Takeru tried to think of other ways to tell her without really telling her, because he was a confusing person around Hikari. His new plan involved him writing notes for her and hiding them for her to find. The issues with that are if someone other than Hikari found them, or, if she never found some at all, or the worst part, if she did find them and she thought they were from someone else. That would be disastrous for him.
His arms were starting to get tired, so he decided to throw in the towel for today, but not without one more shot. He bounced his ball a few times and then tossed it towards the hoop. He made the twenty fifth shot. His plan was set in motion. With a quiet cheer and a newly-speeding heart, he ran into his building to start with the first note.

The brunette female awoke again to a mysterious scent emanating from the kitchen. Was someone making breakfast? She got out of her warm, cosy bed and strode curiously towards it. She giggled when she saw her dad attempting to remove a partially cooked pancake from the ceiling.
"Morning, Hika," he said when he noticed her standing under him. "Your mom had to go to work today so it's just you and me."
"Awesome, but I was going to start my photo-journal, remember?" Around three weeks ago, Hikari got inspired by a friend to start a journal, not with words, but with pictures. She would take a picture of something in her day and then put it in a book as a journal entry. "I'll eat breakfast, but then I'm going to get changed and go out for a walk or something. I'll probably end up at the park."
"Alright, but, could you hand me the spatula? I think it'll get off the burnt parts."

Takeru hung the yellow sheet of paper onto a branch of her Sakura tree in the park. This was where they would both go, sometimes together, sometimes alone, to wonder about anything and everything. He knew she'd end up there at one point, so she was nearly guaranteed to find it. He also wrote her name in bold, black ink on the front. Satisfied, he went back home.

Hikari took her camera and started shooting anything she saw. Her motto when she had nothing exciting or things were repetitive was to shoot, shoot, and then when you're tired of shooting, shoot some more. This ensured her some gems in her shots. She wandered over to her tree, the Sakura tree, which now in the summer had simple green, lush leaves. She nearly clicked the shutter button on her tool but had to stop to tilt her head. There was a piece of paper fluttering in the wind. She shot it with her camera and then went to retrieve it.
This is where she found the first note.
Well, what do you think? Epic fail? Moar plz? Review to let me know! :)
