The moment in which he refused her felt like a slap in her face. And not only that, it tore her apart deep inside and when she watched him leaving her office she's unable to move, hardly breathing. Slowly she started packing her things without realizing what's going on around her. She feels numb and all she wants to do is leave this hospital.

She walks through the entrance hall without facing the people around her. She thought about running, unsure whether her feet would be strong enough for it.

She didn't see Cuddy watching her while she was leaving. She didn't realize that Cuddy called her name and left the hospital.

But Cuddy realized that something went terribly wrong.

When she sat in her car, she barely realized what she did and all she knew is that she can't go back to her husband. Not after the disappointment.

She decided to go to the house which they rent for the time they stayed in Princeton and she knew that it's still her house for a few more days.

They drive to the house was quiet. She wasn't in the mood to listen to some music. Her body is completely tensed and she tries to be strong with every tiny part of it.

She didn't bother with taking her things out of the car, she walked up the little path to the house, deliberately slow because her strength for everything else seemed to fade.

When she reached the front door, she feels calm but she knew that it's only the shock that still lasts.

As soon as she stepped into the house, her defenses broke and the pain set in. Her legs lost the strength to carry her any longer and she sank to the ground, leaning against the front door. The pain inside her chest made it difficult to breathe and she started to cry.

She never expected it to hurt so much after all those years and she never thought she'd be willing to give up everything for him a second time only to be refused again in the end.

The crying made her tired and she still leaned against the door without wanting to move, silent tears running down her cheeks.

She heard her mobile ringing and for a slight moment she hoped that it's him and that he changed his mind. But she was wrong. It was her husband, but she didn't answer the call.

After what felt like hours she managed to stand up, feeling shaky and tired she sat down on the huge sofa, that she loved all the time she was there, and that's where she still sits now.

It got dark outside but Stacy doesn't know how late it is, she isn't in the mood to check the time. She's still in a state of shock and all she does is staring straight ahead, tears running down her cheeks. All she did during the last hours is taking of her shoes and her jacket.

She keeps her knees close to her body and tries to calm herself down. It doesn't really work but she doesn't wanna talk to someone either.

From the distance, she hears someone approaching to the house but she doesn't move. She didn't switch on the lights, there's only a tiny light by the door, and she hopes that this person will go away. But what if it's him?

She hears someone knocking on the door.

After a while, she hears a woman asking:”Stacy? Are you there?”

She knows it's Lisa and for a moment she tries to decide what to do. Let her in and show her how miserable she is or keep on grieving in the darkness with no way out on her own?

“It's open,” she answers with a hoarse voice and she doesn't turn around when Lisa comes in and closes the door behind her. A fresh breeze comes in before she closed the door.

“Stacy?” Lisa asks again, this time her voice sounds even more worried. She walks around the sofa and Stacy is ashamed of herself and her appearance. So much that she can't even look at Lisa.

“I knew something went wrong,” Lisa says more to herself and takes off her jacket to sit down beside her.

“What happened?” She asks softly and faces her. Stacy finally turns her head, but only unwillingly and she still doesn't look her in the eyes. She knows that it won't be a good thing to do so.

“Is it him?” Lisa asks and Stacy nods, fresh tears running down her cheeks. Lisa bits her lip. She knew it from the moment she saw her leaving. She doesn't seem in the mood to talk and Lisa knows that it's probably not right to get on her nerves with a lot of questions. This wouldn't help at all. She knew almost everything that happened between them because she literally was a part of it and to see Stacy so miserable really hurts her.

The only thing she can think of right is something to drink. A drink is always good even though she should know it better.

A voice in her head tells Stacy that she better shouldn't drink in her condition but she reached a point where she doesn't care about it at all.

Thankfully she takes the glass of wine Lisa handles her. The bittersweet taste of the wine makes her shiver when she tastes it, but she'll get used to it.

Lisa returns next to her, not sure what to say. At the beginning the whole relationship of Stacy and him got on her nerves because it wasn't supposed to end up in a nice way for both of them and she was always involved in some way, but seeing her like this makes her feel sorry for her.

“I wanted to stay,” Stacy whispers two glasses of wine later and Lisa leans back in the sofa next to hear to listen to what she's got to say.

“I was so stupid,” she hisses with a lot of anger in her voice. “I don't know why I was so stupid. I stood in front of him, literally begged him to love me,” she says and her voice gets teary again at the end. “That's so humiliating,” she says and tears run down her cheeks again. She wipes them away.

“I'm sorry,” Lisa says in a low voice and this time she really means it.

“The worst thing is that it hurts so much,” she says and gets furious again.

They go back to moments of silence and every now and then Stacy wipes away her tears. Lisa holds her hand and asks herself if there'd be enough alcohol to make the evening at least a little bit more comfortable.

The first thing she'll do tomorrow is kick his stupid ass as soon as she sees him in the hospital for being such an idiot. She knows how it feels to be refused , how bitter the taste of the disappointment is.

She feels that the alcohol starts to have its affection on her and Stacy became more quiet, her curses became less.

When Stacy turns her head to finally face Lisa she realizes that she's tears in her eyes.

“This doesn't help at all,” Stacy says and keeps the eye contact.

“I'm sorry,” she says silently and doesn't look away.

“What for?” Stacy wants to know even though she already knows it. And she also knows that she should look away, but she doesn't care.

She takes Lisa's face in her hands and kisses her without hesitating or thinking about possible consequences. She fell deep when he told her he can't make her happy and she needs something that will, if only for a moment.

A part of her knew Cuddy would reply the kiss but the other part is still surprised. She pulls her closer and sits down on her legs, refusing to look at her.

The kiss gets deeper with every moment and she leans into her to feel her warm body and the comfort of someone else's presence.

Lisa moans softly in her mouth when she feels Stacy's hands under her blouse and a moment later she rips it apart, not bothering to open the buttons one by one. She knows that Stacy is just looking for a way to get rid of her anger and she also knows that it'd be wrong to go on now, but she stopped caring.

She pulls her closer and takes her clothes off one by one, giving her what she wants. She seems to be more furious with every move they make so she replies it with the same rage, trying to keep her under control. She tightens her grip around her, feeling her naked skin on her own, thrilled by the feeling of it.

She kisses neck, feeling her warm breath against her cheek and screams out loud when Stacy scratches her back, trying to hold on to something.

When she's about to open her trousers she decides that this is definitely enough and pushes her forward, keeping her under control.

She lays her body on hers and for a few moments they struggle and Lisa holds her hands as strong as possible to keep her laying on her back.

“I am not the one you're mad at,” she hisses between a kiss and takes of her trousers while she tries once more to turn her around but Lisa holds her hands beside her.

When she reaches down between her legs, she stops trying to fight her that much. She moans silently, turns her head from one side to another and Lisa watches her while she fastens her movements and the moan turns into a cry and she doesn't stop when she sees tears falling down her cheeks.

She kisses her without expecting a reply and for a second her body tenses completely and she cries out loud when it hits her.

She tries to catch he breath and think clearly and another wave of feelings flush her body. She still breathes heavily when she lays her arms around Lisa and desperately bursts into tears. Maybe she finally found the comfort she was looking for.
