Summary: An imaginary ending to 'The End in the Beginning'
She sat at his bedside quietly. Looking down at her watch, she noted the time. Shouldn't he be waking up soon? It had been days. Was he supposed to still be sleeping this much?
The morning shift nurse came into the room and glanced over towards her. Her gray hair and heavy hips gave her a matronly appearance.
"You're here again young lady?"
Brennan didn't care to talk about herself.
"Shouldn't he be more alert than this?"
The nurse reached over to look at the machines the still sleeping man was hooked to and then recorded the numbers on her clipboard before looking back at Brennan.
"As I told you yesterday young lady, he just needs some rest now. He should be feeling much better soon." She walked over to pick up Brennan's hand and place it in her own. Brennan was so tired she didn't even notice.
"While he's sleeping so soundly, why don't you use the opportunity to go home and get yourself a few hours of rest? You have been with him around the clock since he was brought in. The doctor will be in late this afternoon and if everything looks good, he may even release him."
She smiled at Brennan's hopeful expression.
"I know you'll want to be here for that."
Brennan felt unsure. Glancing back at Booth's serene expression, she noticed that he had yet to stir.
"I don't know..."
The nurse walked around and tucked Booth's covers at his feet. "Ms...Brennan...we'll call you of course...immediately if anything changes."
Brennan stood, looked down at her partner once more and leaned down.
"I'll be back in a while Booth. Don't leave without me."
And then she straightened and looked over at the nurse who now stood facing the sink apparently unaware of her dictate to her partner. Walking toward the door, she paused as she opened it.
"You'll call me if he awakens?"
The nurse was surprised that she was speaking to her again.
"Of course we will, we -"
"I can be here in ten minutes."
"I'm sure you can dear...We of course will..-"
"I mean it. The moment he wakes up, you call me."
She paused to look over one last time at her sleeping partner.
"I'll be back in a couple of hours."
The nurse nodded her head and tried to hide her smile. The woman was obviously crazy about the handsome young man in the bed. He indeed was fortunate to have someone who obviously cared so much about him.
Brennan nodded at the nurse and turned and left the room.
Letting her smile spread now, the nurse turned back toward the sleeping young man and checked him once more. He appeared comfortable. She noticed now though that he was smiling in his sleep.
If she were a betting woman, she'd bet her last paycheck that he were dreaming about the young woman that had just left his room.
Hodgins crossed his legs and reached for the remote to change the channel. Midget wrestling was only amusing for short periods of time. As he clicked through the various hospital cable channels, he finally decided on a history documentary on Hitler. Leaning back, he turned the volume up slightly. Satisfied he wasn't bothering Booth, he laid the remote on the mobile food tray and stared at the television once more.
He had to admit to being surprised that Brennan had finally given into the demands of her body and gone home to rest and shower for a while. Poor woman had looked so tired when she'd come out into the waiting room this morning to look for someone. Fortunately, he and Sweets had both been waiting.
"Can one of you stay with Booth long enough for me to go home, shower and change clothes?"
Hodgins had to admit that she had looked a iittle grubby by Brennan standards. She'd barely moved from Booth's side for the last three days. She refused to let anyone else stay in the room with him for any length of time until she was convinced that he was out of danger. And even then, she'd left only when Angela had forced her to. He shook his head. He guessed he would be the same way...if it were...his partner.
An instant image popped into his head and he forced it away. They'd gotten along well lately and he wanted to keep it that way.
But anybody with half a brain cell knew Brennan wasn't behaving merely like Booth's partner. She was acting like his wife.
And their entire crew had plenty of brain. They all realized the score between the two long-time partners, even if those partners didn't admit it to each other.
Cam had totally refused to bother her with anything this week and threatened anyone with bodily harm at the lab that did so. Most of the interns that had come around had been really great in trying to get Dr. B to feel better about things in their dorky, amateurish ways. And ah, Angela... Angela had been the voice of reason for her friend when she couldn't be. Forcing Brennan to eat and forcing her to lay down and take a nap occasionally. Sweets had been around too. The young guy hadn't really known what to do so he had suggested to him that he just offer to hang around the hospital some on his time off so that Brennan could have a break. He had to give the guy credit. He'd spent many hours here in Booth's room and in the waiting room. It was pretty obvious he cared about Booth. They all did.
But no one more than her.
He could see it in her eyes. When she'd come from the ER several nights ago and told them about Booth, her eyes had been haunted and scared. And he probably was one of the only people that had seen Temperance Brennan really scared. She had been terrified at that moment that she was going to lose Booth. And he knew, as scared as she'd been for her own life in that buried car that she was much more scared of losing this man in her life.
Booth stirred and turned over. He must be having a hell of a dream. He'd been grunting and mumbling and even smiling for what seemed hours now.
Finally, Booth turned over on his bed and his hands seized the sheets violently a moment. Hodgins was startled and instantly reached for the button to call the nurses, thinking his friend might be having a relapse.
As he bent over to the edge of the bed, Booth's eyelids popped instantly open, wide and unblinking. He stared right at him. Reaching upward, lightening quick, Booth sat up and seized his arm.
"Bones?"
Hodgins was shocked by the agony in his voice and instantly wanted to reassure him.
"She's fine man. Gone to grab a shower. She'll be back in a few minutes."
Booth blinked a few times before releasing his death grip on Hodgin's arm. He finally lay his head back on the pillow and scanned his eyes around the room.
"You must have been having a hell of a dream man."
Booth stared right at him a long moment and Hodgins felt like he'd said the wrong thing when he didn't receive a response.
"I want to see Bones."
Hodgins nodded and reached immediately for his cell phone.
She was not going to be happy that she wasn't here when he'd awoken today.
Her heart was beating furiously as watched the elevator's ascent to Booth's floor.
Tapping her foot impatiently against the square tile of the floor, she ignored the curious and disapproving glances of the others in the elevator.
She could have cared less. This wasn't about them. Or her.
It was about Booth.
The elevator ding sounded and the doors opened and she practically ran out into the bright hallway of the ninth floor. Shooting down the hallway, she burst through the double doors to see that the small waiting room was currently empty. They hadn't left him alone had they?
She made her way up the hallway, ignoring the various nurses and other hospital personnel. As she neared his room, she heard laughter.
Easing the doorway open, she heard the laughter explode again and looked up at the door's name plate to make sure she was in the correct room.
The young doctor stood at the end of the bed holding his clipboard to his chest and a huge smile on his face. Around Booth's bed stood Cam, Angela, Jack and Sweets. They didn't notice her approach.
"As I was saying before I was interrupted Agent Booth. I'm letting you out of here this afternoon. IF you have someone to take you home."
"I'll be glad to give you a lift man." Sweets had Booth's attention and he didn't notice as she eased up to the end of his bed and stared down at him.
"Booth?" Her voice was soft and breathy as she spoke and everyone turned to look at her. Immediately, his eyes turned away from Sweets to meet hers. The rest of the room seemed to fade between them as they drank in the sight of each other.
There was no smile passed between them. No words of greeting. They just drank in each other.
The young doctor looked from one to the other as if waiting for another of the many questions he'd been posed in the last few days. Cam cleared her throat and Jack coughed.
And still, they stared in silence.
Finally, Booth, without taking his eyes from his partner, spoke.
"Thanks Sweets but I already have a lift home."
Booth waited behind her as she used his key to open his door. When he reached his arm out to push the door open and grazed her, she jumped slightly and shoved it completely open to stand against it.
"Go on in Booth."
Giving her an odd glance, he entered his apartment. He couldn't remember when he'd been so glad to see it.
Everything was in it's familiar cluttered place just as he'd left it several days before. He smiled as he looked around.
"You need to sit down Booth." He felt a small hand on his back as she guided him toward his sofa.
Sitting down on it, he looked up at her quizzically. He wasn't an invalid. She had heard the doctor say he was going to be fine. He might be a little weak for a week or two but otherwise, he was fine. And he felt that now.
Fine. Good, even. Fan-freakin-tastic.
And she was treating him as if something were wrong.
"Bones, really, I told you...I'm just fine."
She shoved the remote in his hands as she fluffed a pillow at the end of his sofa.
"There, now just lay back and relax."
He sighed and leaned back into the pillow she'd fluffed as asked.
"Just let me get you something to eat...I'm sure you're starving."
She started over toward his kitchen.
"I'm not hungry Bones."
She turned to look back at him.
"You stay on the sofa. I'll make you some tea."
"I'll take a beer." He raised his eyebrows hopefully.
She leaned her head over to the side and gave him a chastising look he was familiar with. Ah...so an alien hadn't invaded his partner's body. He'd begun to wonder.
He watched her move around in his kitchen from his spot on the sofa. He liked the way her hips swayed in her jeans as she did so. And he loved that tight green top she had on. She had the prettiest...
Don't go there man.
He felt a little guilty. She was being so kind to him and so attentive to his needs. And she had been since he'd come out of surgery. She'd been his steady constant, hardly ever leaving his side. They'd talked little as he'd slept more than anything but he'd felt her beside him and knowing it had warmed him and made his recovery so much better.
And now, she was at his home. And she was still trying to be there for him. And he just wanted her to stop. Stop and talk to him. Be his partner. Be his friend.
He started again to demand that she stop flitting around in his kitchen and come over and sit beside him but darn it, she was so damn adorable playing his personal nursemaid. He sort of liked her fussing over him.
In just a moment she brought him a hot cup of steaming tea and placed it in front of him. "Green tea was all I could find."
He smiled at her and shrugged. "I'm not much of a tea drinker."
He patted the sofa beside him. "Sit down Bones."
She looked at the spot he patted as if afraid of it.
"I really need to go change your sheets..."
"Sit Bones." He said it firmly. "My sheets are fine."
Both sat in silence for a moment after his words.
He reached for the tea and took a sip. It wasn't so bad he supposed. Not a beer for sure but he could drink it. For her.
"Aren't you going to watch the television?"
"Maybe I can find a sports game for you." She started to get up and he immediately grabbed her arm and pulled her back down beside him. She practically landed atop him when she fell and he caught her as she fell across his leg, half sitting, half lying over his lap.
Her mouth formed a surprised 'O' as they stared at each other.
He continued to hold her as she remained completely still.
"What's wrong Bones?"
She looked into his eyes in confusion. "Wrong?"
"Yeah, wrong. You've been jumpy since we left the hospital and you haven't said more than a sentence to me at a time since the surgery."
She swallowed as she fought the sudden rush of emotion that washed over her.
She would not cry. Would not upset him. Would. not.
"Nothing Booth...I'm fine. I just don't want you... overdoing."
The unspoken was that he held her in his arms.
"How many times do I have to tell you that I am fine Bones. You heard the doctor. Take it easy. Do what I feel like doing..."
She nodded her understanding. "I know Booth. What do you feel like doing?"
He couldn't help it. She was so close. He tried not to look at her mouth. And of course, he failed.
"How about a welcome home hug?"
She bit her lip a moment before giving him a watery smile and nodding her acceptance.
He enfolded her in his arms as they engaged in a closer embrace than they'd ever shared. Clasping her to him, he held on tightly. She felt so good. In his dream, she had felt good to him when he'd put his hands on her. He remembered now. So damn good.
She sighed and put her head on his shoulder as she held him and allowed him to hold her. It felt wonderful. She had to admit that. She didn't want it to end. She just wanted to hold him and never let him go. Of course that was ridiculous but...
As he eased his head back, he noticed she had tears in her eyes.
"Hey...Bones...don't cry on me."
She dabbed at her eyes, slightly embarrassed to be crying when she had nothing to cry about.
He used his own thumb to wipe her tear away and she shuddered slightly from the emotions swirling within her.
Dammit. She did not need this.
"I'm fine Booth."
"Bones, you are not fine. Just tell me...what's wrong?"
He sounded so sincere, so concerned, so...so...Booth.
And it was her undoing. That he should be concerned about her.
Tears streamed down her face now and his arm around her tightened.
"I didn't know...I was...They couldn't tell me...And then you were in there and they had the problem and..."
"I'm fine Bones. I promise."
To make his point, he reached for her hand and brought it to the front of his t-shirt, placing it right over his heart.
"See?...Fine."
She stared down where her hand rested and just felt his heart beat sure and strong beneath her hand. And then she smiled weakly.
Looking back into his chocolate brown eyes, she continued to try and smile.
"I was so scared Booth...I was so afraid...I don't ever... want to lose you..."
Booth felt his heart turn over at her confession. Bones? Scared? Of losing him?
She'd been so quiet during his recovery in the hospital, saying very little and just staring at him with those big, haunted eyes of hers.
And now, they were staring at him and she was so close and he was so damn stupid.
But he had to.
Reaching out, he clasped her chin and held it.
And then eased his mouth down onto hers.
His lips felt soft against her own. That was the first thought she had.
But then, then...she couldn't seem to think at all. His mouth was everywhere on her face, kissing, caressing her softly.
"Bones..."
But she didn't want him stopping. He felt too good, and it felt too...right. She found his mouth with her own as she put her arms around his neck.
He was hesitant for a moment and then, began to kiss her again and this time, there was no doubt as to how he was kissing her. With intent. Like he had every intention of...like he was going to...
Make love to her?
The thought stunned her a moment. They were kissing like lovers, hungry lovers.
He brought his tongue out to ease it around the edges of her mouth and she felt her body rush at the silky contact.
"Booth..."
When she opened her mouth, he slid his tongue inside her mouth instantly as if they had this sort of intimate contact every day.
Booth fought himself not to bruise her mouth with his own. He had no idea how hungry he was for her until he'd began this. No idea. None.
She tasted absolutely incredible.
He pushed his tongue against hers and was surprised when she momentarily hesitated. Maybe she didn't...
And then she grasped him. Oh god. Maybe she did.
She sucked his tongue with her own and Booth felt every bit of blood in his body rush to his groin. How could he want her this way? Bones? How could he not?
She tasted like everything he'd ever wanted a woman to taste like in his arms. Tasted like his.
And he had an insane desire to make her feel like his. To be hers. To connect with her on a level they never had. A way they could never walk away from.
The desire pumping through him was paused by the thought. This would change everything between them. Everything.
And yet, he still wanted it; wanted her more than he'd ever wanted anything in his life.
He turned her in his arms and leaned her back down on the sofa. He wanted to feel her body up against his, wanted to feel the desire within her that he was tasting. Wanted her to feel his. To know that he had always been a man that wanted her, desired her, needed her.
Leaning over her, he immediately noticed the gorgeous, soft ivory skin that he'd wanted to touch and taste for so long. Putting his hand on her neck gently, he traced his finger downward and felt her shiver.
He smiled predatorily. This wasn't so hard. She was a woman and just because she was a genius of a woman didn't mean she didn't enjoy the same things other women did. He knew how to make love to a woman and he seemed to be pleasing her.
He put his mouth to her neck and let his lips caress her there, moving them from one side to the other. He loved her instant reaction to that and let his tongue come out to taste her skin.
Oh. god. Oh. god.
She tasted like heaven. She tasted like nothing he had ever known.
And he wanted more. He nipped her with his teeth a bit more aggressively and she shuddered and trembled slightly in his arms.
Another surge of desire seized him and he wanted to watch her, watch the look in her eyes as he tasted her.
He gently used his lips to nip the soft skin at her collarbone and then eased his way downward until he came to the top button of her blouse. Raising his head upward, he looked down into her eyes as he slowly unbuttoned the green blouse he'd so admired earlier. Looking back down, he watched his own hand's progress as he unbuttoned her blouse. When done, he pushed it aside slowly to reveal a lacy black bra against her pale skin.
She was so pretty. So damn pretty. And he wanted to know all of her.
He momentarily closed his eyes, trying to slow himself, trying to keep himself from pawing at her like some damn schoolboy.
More than anything, he wanted to make it right for her. So right for her.
He had to ask. Had to make sure. She looked so...vulnerable just laying here on his sofa.
His sofa?
What the hell was he thinking? He was pawing her on his damn sofa. Bones.
"Booth?"
Her voice sounded so soft, so small, so sweet to his ears.
Oh god. He did not want to hurt her.
He didn't dare look at her again as he raised upward away from her and funneled his fingers through his hair.
Putting his head downward, he stared at his feet. They shouldn't be doing this. He shouldn't be pressuring her like this. She didn't owe him anything. She had taken care of him for days. Was this any way to repay her friendship?
"I'm... sorry Bones."
And she said nothing.
He dared glance at her and she had pulled her shirt back together loosely and just stared at him.
"Don't say that Booth...please." Her voice sounded strained.
She didn't sound like herself. Damn it, had he bruised her? Hurt her?
His eyes shot back to hers and held. "I shouldn't have..."
"I want you Booth."
His jaw worked and he dropped his head once more wishing she hadn't said that. The words he'd wanted for so long to hear from her lips. She was just caught in some momentary desire. She would get up, get a beer and she would let it go. And then she could go and they'd go back to whatever the hell wonderful thing it was they always had.
"Bones...You don't mean that and I shouldn't have..."
Jerking up, she started buttoning her blouse up hastily.
Here it was. He deserved it.
He waited on her to verbally assault him but she said nothing.
Her blouse buttoned, she stood abruptly.
"There is some soup in your refrigerator you'll need to warm up."
"Bones..."
She walked toward the door, pausing only to grab her keys from a nearby table.
"If you need anything, call me."
She jerked open the door angrily.
"Bones...Wait!..."
He wasn't sure she was going to stop but she stilled her progress and halted. He walked up behind her, close but not touching.
"Don't be angry."
He knew he sounded pathetic but he didn't care. They couldn't part like this, not after the last week.
She instantly whirled around, eyes blazing.
"What do you want me to say Booth?"
He leaned back slightly as her angry question took him off guard.
"I don't know...that you don't hate me?"
"Hate you?" She narrowed her eyes. "I could never hate you Booth."
"Then why are you leaving?"
She put her hands on her hips and glared at him, reminding him of so many times in the past that she had done so.
"I just told you that I wanted you and you tell me you don't want me?"
"I didn't say that Bones."
She raised an eyebrow. "Oh? It certainly sounded like it from where I was..." She gestured back toward the sofa. "...sprawled."
"I just don't want you to regret anything between us."
"Who says I'll regret it Booth?"
"Bones, you've been under a lot of stress...you're tired..."
She narrowed her eyes at him as she reached up to poke her index finger into his chest. "How dare you tell me what I am or am not!"
She spun around instantly to leave. Before she could, Booth reached out with his hand and slammed the door. Bringing his arms up on both sides of her, he bracketed her as if trying to hold her now, to contain her.
"Get out of my way Booth...I am leaving."
"No, you're not Bones, at least not until we settle this...this thing between us."
She spun around to find his arms on each side of her head now. Breathing hard, she stared up into his face.
"Let. Me. Out." She gave him her coldest glare.
He brought his nose to hers, feeling emboldened.
"No."
"Booth, I don't want to..."
She didn't finish her thought. He brought his hands down to her shoulders and pushed her none too gently against the door and kissed her roughly.
She met his anger and his restrained passion inch for inch as their tongues battled to see who would win.
When they either had to breathe or suffocate, he raised his head, his chest heaving and eyes sparkling as he loved looking at her this way. She was a little bit out of control. And he wanted to suddenly make her a lot out of control.
"You are beautiful when you are angry with me...Have I ever told you that?
She breathed heavily as she continued to glare at him angrily.
"What do you want from me Booth? I'm confused. You are not behaving remotely logical."
He threw his head back and laughed before bringing his nose up to hers. "You tend to bring out the illogical in me Bones..." His voice softened slightly as he noticed her staring at his mouth again.
Good grief, he had to have her.
"I want you Bones."
She shook her head slightly. "Did I not just say that?"
He gave her a cocky little grin. "I'm going to take you into that bedroom over there..." He inclined his head. "And I'm going to make love to you and you are going to be satisfied."
She turned her head. "You're pretty sure of yourself aren't you Booth?"
"I'm scared too Bones and I'm not sure that we know what the hell we're about to do here."
She swallowed hard and nodded. She understood. She wasn't sure either but she still wanted it. Badly.
Watching her, he seemed to know her resolve and he picked her up in his arms and walked with her across the room.
She had been in his bedroom once that she could remember. So strange that it had been the last and the first time she'd seen him without clothes on.
He walked her over to the edge of his bed and let her slide down in front of him, her body flush up against his.
There were no secrets now.
She trusted him.
He wouldn't betray her. Wouldn't hurt her.
And somehow that knowledge gave her enough courage to do this...thing she had convinced herself to believe she would never do.
Make love.
She could see it in his eyes. He had ever intention of making love to her and every intent that she would like it.
She was terrified she would.
"OK?"
He asked as he kissed her cheek softly.
She could only nod as the feel of his soft lips caressing her gently began to steal her breath once more.
She closed her eyes as she gave into the sensations rioting through her.
He brought his hands up to her blouse and unbuttoned her once more and this time he didn't pause as he stripped her shirt from her. In just a moment, she stood before him in just the black bra.
He held his breath as he looked at her. He never dared imagine what he was about to do... And he couldn't seem to move.
She gave him the smallest of smiles and reached between her breasts to undo the clasp, leaving just the cups loose around her.
Booth sucked in his breath as she did so. Was she sexiest woman on Earth? Somehow he couldn't help but think so.
Reaching a trembling hand of his own out, he slowly pushed one cup away from her breast. Instantly, she sprang free into his hand.
The instant softness in his palm made him lose his breath.
Her head falling back as he slowly began to caress her almost made him forget his own name.
How had he waited so long to touch her this way? How?
He pulled the bra from her back gently and pulled her to him as he began to place open mouth kisses down her neck and onto her chest. Kissing his way down to the valley between her breasts, he paused to drink in the clean, feminine smell of her. He knew in an instant that it was a smell he would never forget.
She whimpered his name softly and he knew what she needed. And what he so badly wanted to give.
Moving his mouth over her softness, he came to the aureole around her breast and placed soft kisses there.
"Booth...I need..."
"I know Bones...I know..."
And he opened his warm mouth and engulfed her nipple into it. Her moan was enough to make him want to come right at that moment.
He answered with a hungry groan of his own.
Feverishly, he began to suckle her. His tongue laved her with his saliva as he took yet another step in marking her as his own.
Mine. Mine. Mine.
It rang like a symphony in his head.
He let his teeth gently rake across the tip of her nipple and she instantly pressed forward into him and he felt her fall back onto the bed.
Following her downward, he continued his exploration by moving his open mouth down her flat tummy. When he reached her navel, he couldn't help but lick it as well causing her hips to thrust upward.
She wanted him.
Inside her.
He couldn't believe it. That she was here like... this. On his bed. Under his body. Waiting for him to join with her. Yet as he looked down at her flushed face and parted lips, he couldn't deny it.
He eased up just enough to pull at the button on her jeans and tug it open. She too was tugging on his clothing and he quickly helped by jerking his t-shirt over his head and tossing it across the room.
She gave him a small smile when he revealed his chest and he almost melted. How could this woman, so worldly and jaded in some ways, seem so innocent to him sometimes?
He froze as he felt her fingers trail across his ribcage.
"You are very well defined around your dorsal vertebrae."
He sucked in a breath as he fingers continued to tease and rub him ever so softly. Nothing he could ever remember felt better to him than having her hands on his bare skin.
He remained frozen above her as her fingers came up his chest to rest at his nipples. Lightly she flicked one with her thumbnail and he couldn't stop the groan that escaped his own throat.
He could do nothing but watch as she used one hand to raise up slightly from the bed as the other encircled his torso. Her lips grazed across his chest and made him powerless.
So good. So damn good with her.
He'd known it would be. Damn them both. He'd known.
The talented mouth he was mentally praising and cursing closed around his own nipple and kissed and Booth was certain he was going to come far too soon. He had to release the building pressure on himself.
Putting a knee on the bed, he forced himself from her mouth and gained some leverage and control.
Hastily unbuttoning his own pants, he shoved them down his legs along with his shorts, kicking his shoes off as he did so.
Then, he found her eyes, so intense, so blue and so focused on his face.
He gave her back the same, his eyes never leaving hers as he reached for her pants and gently pulled them down her legs. He wanted to slow down to a crawl and inch by inch touch every part of her but the insane urge to be inside this woman, to join his body to hers was overriding every good intent he had.
Pushing her shoes off, he tugged at her jeans until they finally joined his on the floor.
He dropped his gaze to her legs, so long and slender and beautiful as they rounded up into the prettiest hips he'd ever laid eyes on. She was built like some kind of goddess. That was all he could think of as he drank her in.
"You're beautiful Bones."
Bringing his eyes back up to hers, he noticed her eyes began to well at the simple compliment.
He instantly brought a hand to her cheek. "Hey...what's wrong?...I didn't mean to upset you..."
He didn't care how turned on he was, if she didn't want this, he would make himself stop. At any point, regardless of the cost.
She gave him a watery smile. "You didn't."
He was confused. "Oh."
She took a deep breath and released it.
"You're making love to me aren't you Booth?"
She asked in her little girl voice that pierced his heart.
Oh, god, yes.
He brought his lips to hers in an achingly sweet kiss. Releasing her lips, he leaned into her ear.
"Yes Bones...do you want me to?"
She nodded slightly. "Yes."
His heart melted even as his dick throbbed between his legs as never before.
He willed himself to slow down and try and maintain a thread of sanity.
Looking back down at her in just the baby blue panties, he didn't know if he were capable of it.
She brought her downward without warning and slowly clasped him.
"I want you Booth...now...inside me."
No. Bones. Slow. Oh.
She began to pull her own panties downward then and he stopped her with his hands and took over the task of pulling them downward. As he did so, he revealed her most private part.
It was a part of her that he never dared believe she might finally, willingly share with him.
And yet as he finished tugging the panties from her legs, she opened them slightly in anticipation of him.
This would change everything.
Most definitely.
But it was a change they both wanted.
She eased back on the bed slightly, her head hitting his softest pillow. The pillow he slept on.
She looked so right there. Beautiful, waiting...for him.
He trailed his lips up her leg, softly licking the inside of her thigh.
"Booth! No..."
He felt her arms push at his biceps as she grabbed them in abandon.
"I have to Bones...just one..."
His voice was husky with desire and neither of them recognized it.
"...time..."
And he put his mouth on her and kissed her. There.
She twisted her head on the pillow, feeling as if she were somewhere else. She tried to think of anything else. The lab, her office...but nothing would stop the pulsing inside her mind and her body.
Her hands finally released his arms and flew to his head.
"No...Booth...not..."
She was gasping and Booth wanted to emblazon every gasp, every word, every movement onto his brain in case...
He looked up at her. Her head thrown back on the pillow...waiting...needing...wanting...
Him.
Pulling up astride her, he placed himself at her entrance and then looked at her face. That beautiful face. His expression was one of agony as he closed his eyes momentarily to keep from plunging roughly into her.
"Bones...Ba...Bo...Bones...Open...Open your eyes..."
She let her eyes drift open to meet his.
They stared at each other a long moment that seemed somewhere close to eternity.
"Booth..."
"Yes..."
And he plunged into her.
The cry from both of them was one of agony meeting bliss.
He was still a moment as he felt her walls enclose him but then her wet heat fueled his desire for more and he began to move.
Distantly, he felt her fingers digging into his buttocks as he tried to deepen his thrusts.
"Yes! Oh!"
Her fevered pleas fueled him and he pistoned in and out of her more quickly. His own desire compelling him to release deep and hot and long inside this woman.
It had never felt like this.
And never would again.
Those were the last lucid thoughts he had as he pushed her and she met him, her cries echoing his own with each thrust.
But it had been so long. For them both.
And they had wanted and needed each other so much longer than either dared admit.
"I'm going to...I'm..."
"Yes...!"
Her walls contracted around him in a surge of pulsing release and he couldn't hold his own. Sending himself with a thrust that robbed them both of breath deep within her, he released with a long cry of ecstasy.
It was done.
Several minutes later, they lay in the darkness of his room.
He had his hand on his chest as he looked up at the ceiling. Beside him, she had drifted to sleep.
Beside him.
He liked the sound of that. It was where he always wanted her.
He smiled and reached a hand out to push the still damp hair from her face.
Knowing he'd never watched her sleep, he took the opportunity to enjoy just watching her breathe.
She was his now. And no matter what she said or how hard she tried to pull away-and she would if he knew her- it was a fact.
Moving her head away from his touch, she mumbled and turned over.
He had to smile.
Even in her sleep, she fought him.
He leaned back onto his pillow.
"We made love Bones..."
He said it softly and then, closed his own eyes.
And on the other side of his bed, two blue eyes drifted slowly open and remained that way for a long moment.
Thoughtful and stunned.
And then she closed them.
And they both slept.
Finis : )
Now, that was fun...
Ready for the finale 'real stuff' yet?
