Eponine:

Thank you

For proving that stars don't grant wishes;

For showing me

That it is better never to love at all

Than to love and lose.

Thank you

For teaching me about the word "alone" -

I know now

That the most bitter loneliness

Is when you're sitting right next to someone

Knowing he will never be yours.

Do you know, M'sieur Marius?

I believe I was a little in love with you.

Marius:

Thank you

For proving that stars sometimes do grant wishes;

For showing me what it is

To love with no thought of loss.

Thank you

For teaching me about the word "together" -

I know now

That joy must be divided

Between two hearts

For it to grow.

Do you know, dear Cosette?

I loved you before I even knew your name.
