Bestfriends for so long...

“You promise we’ll always be friends?” Seven-year-old Gabriella asked hopefully.

“Always,” Troy replied, his voice squeaky with happiness.

…And as life goes along, things change…

Troy walked down the corridor, passing Gabriella without seemingly seeing her. Gabriella talked animatedly to Taylor, a smile on her face while she gestured wildly with her hands.

…People change…

“The basketball scholarship is mine!” Troy laughed, catching Chad in a headlock…

…“I know I can get into the Arts School! I just gotta work harder!” Gabriella said excitedly to Kelsi.

…And their once friendship dissolved. Life went on…

Troy laid on top of the blonde, his arms wrapped around her naked torso as their kissed heatedly.

…Other relationships occurred…

“Course I love you baby,” Gabriella whispered as Mark put his arms around her.

…And yet they are still drawn together…By some force which has always been inside them. They still need each other…

“Hey, Brie, how you been?” Troy asked as he lay back into his pillows, his phone propped between his ear and his shoulder.

…But Gabriella is tired of the games…

“We were friends, yeah, but we’re not anymore! We’re either hooking up behind the grandstands, or we’re completely ignoring each other! You’re not the same person to me anymore!” Gabriella told Troy, her voice filled with frustration.

“That’s just how we are now!” Troy replied angrily.

“Well I don’t like it,” Gabriella muttered.

…She wants things how they were…

“I want my Troy back,” Gabriella told Taylor. “But nothing is the same.”

…A story of the past…

“I love you Gabriella,” twelve-year-old Troy told the brunette beside him.

…Of the future…

“We’re going in two completely separate directions in life—but I still can’t seem to get away from him!”

“You know you want me,” Troy replied as he pulled Gabriella toward him, his hands frantically pulling at her clothes.

“I promised you I would always be there for you. I didn’t lie to you Brie,” Troy told her.
