Yay my first IshiHime FF!!! W00t go me! Lol I support this couple with all my heart! IshiHime prevails! IchiHime dies! Completely my opinion btw!
I’m also a pretty big fan of UlquiHime but I prefer IshiHime…
Remember two things: I don’t own Bleach and there are spoilers here! So anime watchers turn away! Manga readers stay! :D
Enjoy the story!
Her eyes drooped slightly as she saw the two figures advance towards each other.
The winter battle was finally over, Aizen was dead and Seireitei had won.
At this moment, Inoue Orihime was staring at the battle field, sprawled with blood and bits of black and white cloth. She shuddered violently as she recalled the final battle.
Ichigo versus Aizen.
It had been frightening and Orihime had been trembling all over. In fact, if it wasn’t for Ishida, she wouldn’t have been able to survive the searing levels of reiatsu. The thing that frightened Orihime the most was when Ichigo released his hollow form.
She’d been so scared. But was it possible to be scared of someone she loved? No, surely not. After all, she hadn’t been scared of Ulquiorra.
Yes, it had been about a week since Ulquiorra’s death…one week since she realized that she loved him. But the feeling of love was strange. It wasn’t the usual love, it was something more vague. She’d loved him…but not enough to mourn for him the rest of eternity.
This gave a small sense of relief to her for now she knew her feelings for Ichigo were definite. But then why did she feel no pain when Ichigo and Rukia hugged each other—in an intimate manner—in front of her very own eye?
Could it be that she didn’t love him...? No, that was impossible. She loved him.
She loved him.
She loved him.
She loved him.
Right?
Of course she did. She’d spent ages thinking up of ways she could confess, she’d told everybody about her crush, everyone—except for the guilty carrot-top—knew about it.
Yet when his and Rukia’s lips inched closer and closer together, she didn’t feel any pain, no empty hollowness she’d read about when the heroin lost her true love.
But why?
She reached the conclusion. She didn’t love him. She pressed her lips in a firm line.
But that was a lie. She did love him…just not the way she thought she had. The love they shared was much too fraternal to be romantic.
Then, would she ever be able to love?
Of course, Orihime didn’t realize that she already did love. Never, did her head wander to the dark haired Quincy who was standing right behind her.
“Inoue-san,” he said, softly, resting a hand on her shoulders. “Gomen,”
Orihime blinked confusedly at him. Then it dawned upon her that he was apologizing for the fact that Ichigo didn’t love her.
“Ie,” she said, frantically shaking her head. Uryuu looked puzzled so Orihime started to explain.
“I love Kurosaki-kun a lot, I really do, but just not in that way. I realized that he’ll never be more than a brother to me. I thought I loved him but when I saw him and Kuchiki-san kiss, it didn’t hurt so I couldn’t possibly be in love because if I was, it would be painful for me right now. Right now, all I feel is happiness because I know they’re made for each other.”
Uryuu frowned. He didn’t want to believe her but Orihime smiled with such genuine happiness, he automatically believed him.
Thoughts raced across his head and before he knew it he’d done something he’d never have done before. He’d kissed her.
Orihime’s eyes widened and her lips burned, a flame started eating away her soul. She froze. Instantly, Uryuu blushed and pulled away and started to stutter his apology.
Orihime’s eyes widened and she traced her lips with her finger, without moving. It felt so…good. His lips, that is. Then she realized that the burning sensation was passion.
Passion? For Uryuu? She would have laughed had it not been so real.
Uryuu meanwhile was still apologizing. His eyes widened in surprise and Orihime pulled him by the collar of his shirt and pressed her lips to his.
Passion engulfed them an Orihime snaked her arms to his neck while Uryuu wrapped his, safely, around Orihime’s waist.
A small moan escaped her lips and she tightened her grip on him. She couldn’t help but think how stupid she had been.
She’d thought she loved Ichigo.
She’d thought she loved Uryuu like a brother.
In fact, it was the complete opposite.
“Since when?” Uryuu asked when they pulled away for oxygen.
“Since forever,” she whispered, “I was just too stupid to realize it.”
Uryuu smiled and leaned forward once again but before their lips could meet, they were rudely interrupted.
“Oh this is so cute!”
“Kuchiki-san!” Orihime exclaimed rushing up to hug her old friend.
“Inoue-san,” Rukia gasped when Orihime finally let go of her. “You and…?”
“Mhm!” Orihime nodded with vigor, “Kurosaki-kun’s all yours!”
Rukia blushed a deep red but laughed nonetheless.
“That’s good Inoue, I was afraid that you…”
Rukia blinked in surprise as Orihime clamped her hand on to her mouth, preventing Rukia from speaking.
“Ie, Kuchiki-san, it’s all good. Now go, Kurosaki-kun’s calling you!” she winked and pushed Rukia away, smiling all of the time.
“Inoue?” Uryuu asked, breathing into her ear. “I l-l-love you!” he blurted out.
Orihime felt pleased and she turned around and kissed him, full on the lips.
“I love you too,” she murmured contently.
