Dark Side of a Rose
Authoress notes: Hello beloved shadamy fans. As you might already know: I wrote a sequel to my popular Black Petaled Rose fanfic that I named Dark Side of a Rose. Due to introducing a poorly structured storyline with character developments not in full as well as changed, I’ve decided to discontinue the story. However, I plan to introduce two endings that were thought of when I had hoped to finish Dark Side of a Rose. And don’t worry beloved fans of the story. I plan to do a revised version. That way it is well-thought out and ready with continuation, but that won’t be for a while. Please enjoy the first ending of Dark Side of a Rose.
What lie before them was a swirling vortex of combined yet separate colors that contained a future dimension within it. Outlined around the time forwarding creation was a circular metal casing to harness and control it. That was the home of a teenager who traveled to the present to mend the heart of his mother.
Standing between the space time portal, and a couple foretold to marry then produce a family was of the child that revealed them the information. His resemblance to his father was uncanny. That fur of his was black as the night sky when pitched black splashed with crimson streaks upon his quills, around his eyelids, arms, and legs. What distinguished him from his fat her besides his clothing and glasses were of his bright emerald eyes and three crimson bangs.
Stepping forward, the young man reached ahead seizing a smaller delicate hand belonging to the rose who stood before him. This sweet loving smile graced his muzzle while he caressed the single hand in his larger ones.
“My time with you has been the most of my cherished memories…” He began with a soft soothing tone. “But I must go back to my time… to where I rightfully belong…”
Jade orbs gazed up coming into contact with ones of the same color. This wide loving grin was across her face. Her free hand laid upon the one covering her other one. “I understand…” Crystallized tears started to form within the corners of her eyes at having to say goodbye to her baby boy once again… “You just take good care of yourself! And remember: that I’ll always love you!” Exclaimed the rose female before pulling back her hands then rushing into her son’s arms. Those tears of hers started to flow heavily from the slits of pink eyelids that now covered her eyes.
With a solemn smile, ruby stripped arms wrapped gingerly around the she-hog holding her to him. “I will, and I love you too…” Those were the soft spoken words from the boy as he snuggled the side of his face into bubblegum quills.
And with one last powerful hug, Amy released him since she knew she had to let go at some point. What she held was nothing more than the expression of a mother’s love.
Bending over, Dark gave his mother a small kiss on the cheek. When he raised back up he set his attention on his father.
His father stood but only a few feet from the two with his arms crossed over his chest. Though he seemed like he only held his usual emotionless expression, he actually held a bit of care inside his ever burning cerise eyes.
“Father…”
“Boy…”
Dark couldn’t help but grin at the man standing a little far ahead of him. Even though much was never really said between them, and that is only seemed like Shadow only amused the boy… The younger male that deep down, DEEP DOWN, he really loved him, and that’s what mattered!
Without giving the older male time to retaliate, Dark ambushed him with a fast hug! He tried to break free, but that wasn’t about to happen! His son made sure to have a tight hold on him. “Love you father…” Were the soft affection words spoken so calmly and easily to him.
Though Shadow wasn’t too happy about that… he finally gave up and let the stolen personal space commence… “Hmm…” Was the only response received.
Finally relinquishing his hold on his father, Dark looked ahead at the vortex. Some of the vast winds coming from off of it blew a few of his ebony quills back.
“Well…” He said turning back to his parents. “I must be on my way…” And with a last quick wave, he stepped into the portal…
”Goodbye… my little Dark…” Were Amy fleeting words as she waved, though he couldn’t see it.
As the rose was starting to turn away from the dimension that he baby boy had walked into… she heard a hauntingly familiar voice…
“Mama!”
That voice! Amy didn’t hesitate to swiftly turn into the direction where she picked up the calling of her parental title!
Shadow’s body was paralyzed with shock at witnessing the appearance of the being before them! It’s… it’s…
Dashing from out of the forward time containment was…
“Dark!”
Running up to the rose hedgehog was a small black hedgehog boy with red streaked quills, and the widest emerald eyes. He wore a large excited grin upon his face as he jumped into his mother’s arms.
“My sweet baby boy…!” Cried the hedge-female wrapping motherly arms around the boy’s body holding him so closely and lovingly.
“I love you mama…” Cooed the toddler hedgehog snuggling his head into her stomach. A pair of black ears flattened in contentment while a small black tail swayed along.
Hard ruby eyes softened at the sight before him… Ever since he was at fault for that little boy’s death, he wanted nothing more than to see that loving embrace between the two again… Regaining feeling in his body, he approached the two snaking an arm around the rose and the boy. He nuzzled his face against a pink ear saying barely audible words into it to calm the tears flowing from shut emerald eyes.
That is when wider ones belonging to the mini life form peered up at the older male who decided to join the embrace. With the sweetest expression he said to him. “I love you daddy…”
Onyx ears stood up at hearing the declaration of love. Revealing crimson eyes that were shielded behind dark eyelids, he directed them down to the smaller male hedgehog. Stroking the top of his head he uttered the words: “I love you too, son…”
The End
