Thanks for the reviews!
I really hope you like this chapter, this story is different than what I normally write.
Taylor awoke with the sudden realization of what she had done. Chad had sent her to just talk to Troy and she'd ended up sleeping with him. It was so unreal to her but yet she knew that it had happened. Troy had looked at her with such longing, and Gabriella was so far away...Chad was downstairs probably worried that Troy would never get over Gabriella while Taylor had been fucking his best friend. It was so twisted, sick and wrong. A part of her wanted to answer Chad's calls and just confess because maybe he wouldn't take it so hard if she came clean. But she knew how Chad was, he could be very competitive; he'd think that Troy was trying to take her away from him and that wasn't the case at all...or was it?
Troy had come on to her first. Of course she rejected him but he just kept telling her how pretty and different she looked. It didn't help that she'd always had a crush on him. How could she not? He had absolutely breathtaking blue eyes that looked into her soul. She just couldn't push him away. Not when he admitted to her that he'd gotten over Gabriella and was moping because Chad was with her. It struck her as odd for THE Troy Bolton to be saying these things but she couldn't help but believe him and get lost in the moment. He was so amazing in more ways than one when it came to sex; she felt dirty just thinking about it.
After she took an hour long shower, she caught a glimpse of herself in the mirror. She looked the same, still had the same bob with bangs and curvy figure, but she didn't feel the same. She was guilty for cheating on Chad, she was dirty and skanky for cheating on Chad. But the fan girl inside of her was a little happy that Troy liked her. Or maybe he didn't like her. Maybe he was just saying that to get some; she'd never know. If she wanted to make sleeping with Troy a one time thing, she'd have to avoid him at all costs.
Besides, graduation was just weeks away...even if she had to be near Troy when she was with Chad, at least she didn't have to talk to him as if they were friends. The spring musical was no different; she would just get lost in the blur of makeup, dancing, dress rehearsals and pep talks.
She sat on her bed, wrapped in a towel, and began to cry. She was bound for Yale and after that the White House. Girls who strive for those things don't fuck their boyfriends best friend and try to reason with themselves that it's okay.
----------
"C'mon, Taylor," Troy whispered as he held the phone close to his ear, waiting for her to pick up. "I just--I was hurting over Gabi, I didn't know what I was saying," he practiced before he heard her voice mail for the fifth time. "Shit." Taylor had every right to avoid him but it wasn't like they were secretly in love. He was heartbroken and she was there to help him. Well, technically what she did didn't help, it only made things worse.
Troy was torn. He'd betrayed his best friend and his girlfriend, if Gabriella was still his girlfriend. A part of him just knew she would return but another part honestly thought that she wouldn't come back and just stay in California. He was head over heels for her. He remembered the countless times Chad had to talk him out of driving to California to get Gabriella. She had his heart, always would. There was nothing that could change that fact unless he told Gabriella what he'd done.
Knowing her, she'd cry and tell him that she could never forgive him for what he'd done. But Gabriella wasn't the only person who would hate him. There was Chad Danforth, his best friend since pre-school. He'd finally found a girlfriend and Troy just had to fuck her.
He didn't mean to. It wasn't like he lured her up to his room just for a quick lay. It was a party and he couldn't really hear her all too well in the living room so he told her that his room was a quiet spot. She was hesitant to follow him but since Chad was nowhere to be found, she went anyway. Troy had a cup of punch, unbeknownst to Taylor, and he was a little tipsy but not enough to fake like he didn't know it was her. It'd been so long since he'd gotten any, and sure he was willing to wait for Gabriella but they'd only been intimate three times. With Taylor, he'd always thought she was pretty but knew that she kinda hated him. He also knew she was off limits when Chad began dating her. But she was so gullible and soon, Troy didn't believe he was lying to her anymore.
So what made him betray his true love and best friend?
Troy honestly didn't know what came over him. Taylor was there, she was willing, she was so gorgeous in that dress...and Gabriella had run off, left him broken hearted and lonely. If Chad found out, he would kill Troy. He'd blow up in his face, screaming at him about how they could never go back to how things used to be. He'd demand to know why he'd lured Taylor into his bedroom instead of Sharpay, because everyone knew how much the Ice Queen was dying to jump his bones.
The remainder of his senior year was not what he'd imagined. Everything was going to change.
----------
Sharpay Evans was never one for gossip. Well, that was a lie but she rarely talked bad about any of the other Wildcats unless they were Gabriella. But Sharpay was just too excited and couldn't control herself. Ever since the party Friday night, she couldn't sit still. Maybe it was the fact that she'd finally given Zeke a chance and kissed him. Or, maybe it was the fact that she saw Taylor and Troy sneak off together.
She couldn't believe it when she saw it. She wanted to yank Taylor back down the stairs and take her place but then she remembered how upset Troy was about 'Little Miss Perfect' and decided not to. She wasn't one for pep talks, especially when the guy she wanted didn't want her back. So, she talked and danced with Zeke Baylor for the rest of the night, nibbling on his delicious cookies before sneaking a kiss when no one was looking.
The Julliard scholarship was up for grabs and although she adored Troy, she didn't want him taking that away from her. After she got it, she'd let him beg her to take him back. It was only fair. She'd gotten rid of Gabriella, and that had been Troy's downfall. Sure he was even hotter while he was moping around but Zeke was a cutie pie himself. Besides, Troy couldn't bake.
Getting back to her regular train of thought, Sharpay decided to tell Ryan about her information. It might not amount to much, but she was sure Taylor and Troy weren't just talking. Taylor had come downstairs an hour later, her hair a mess, carrying her out of season white flats in her right hand. Chad was still passed out, of course, and she wanted to shave him bald since she hated him so much but was too intrigued by Taylor's appearance. Zeke told her to mind her own business, to which she pouted and just took another cookie of his.
It was eating at her to know what had happened between the two but they didn't deserve her attention. For one, Taylor was a know it all bitch with an idiot boyfriend. And secondly, Troy was so fucking hott that Sharpay wouldn't care if he'd slept with anyone else as long as he would still give her a chance. She knew it was stupid but it was senior year, she had a right to be a little crazy.
It was her last chance to win Troy over and if she was lucky, get Kelsi to write her a good song for the spring musical. That scholarship was going to be hers...and Ryan's of course.
----------
Things weren't right. Jason Cross may not have been the smartest guy in the world, but even he knew when things were out of wack. For one thing, Kelsi didn't seem into him anymore. All throughout Troy's party she kept glancing at Ryan and blushing when he'd look back. Jason thought Ryan was gay so he wasn't really worried about Kelsi straying but something told him that maybe Kelsi didn't know that. I mean, the guy wore the craziest outfits with matching hats...didn't that scream gay?
Another thing that was irking Jason was the fact that he'd noticed Martha Cox. Normally he thought of her as just the fat girl Kelsi hung out with but now, he was seeing her as just a girl. She was really pretty when she smiled and to his surprise, she made a great cheerleader.
He kissed Kelsi's cheek before she blushed a bright red and smiled shyly. He felt a little bad that he wasn't really focused on her throughout their movie date but their relationship had been declining ever since their summer at Lava Springs.
At one point, they'd shared 'I love you' but now Jason didn't feel it when he looked at her. Martha was constantly on his mind ever since he'd seen her dancing with Ryan. He'd heard that they were dating, but he doubted Ryan was into Martha's type of girl or any girls for that matter. Looking at Kelsi one last time, he sighed sadly. He wondered how she was going to take being dumped their last year of school together.
At least she'd have that Juli-Julia-Juli-whatever scholarship thing with Ryan. Maybe they'd work out better. If Ryan still liked girls.
A dumb basketball player and shy composer never sounded like a good pair to begin with.
----------
Chad sat on the couch and took a deep breath. It was a great game of basketball with Troy and Mr. Bolton, even if Troy was acting weird about whatever was bothering him. Chad was dying to know, he'd always been kind of nosy but Troy wouldn't open up. And Taylor still wasn't answering her cellphone.
What the hell was up with his two favorite people when he needed them?
