I was supposed to save you.

Known by you as a girl.
Known by you as a woman.
Known by you as your love.

Blue eyes closing, chest stopped heaving,
your motionless body in my arms.
The silence soon descended upon us
except for tears splashing against dirt.

Her hair reminded him of the sun.
Red, fiery, bright, warm and unapproachable.

Her hair smelled like wild jasmine.
Her skin felt like smooth silk.
Her voice sounded like angelic melody.
Her lips tasted like sweet honey.
He felt loss being deprived of
that smell, touch, sound and taste.

"Because I'm in love with her."
No other words made her happy.
If only she'd said them back
to make him so happy too.
