He looked down at the list he had created. He didn’t think it was half bad. He leaned back in the Hokage’s chair, or his chair now. Only eight of his Akatsuki members actually died to get him to this place. He smirked he had thought they all were going to die. His orange mask had been pushed behind his head. He couldn’t bring himself to throw it away so instead he decided to just wear the mask as a hat. He knew it was an odd habit, but every time people saw the mask they coward. He liked that. He stood from his chair and looked out over Konoha. It had been fifty years of planning, but he had finally done it. He had finally taken control of his village. He was finally in his rightful place as Hokage. Yes, the village had been pretty destroyed by the tailed beast, but it was slowly starting to stable out under his rule.
“Madara,” a monotone voice said from the door.
He turned to look at Sasuke. He knew Sasuke was plotting how to kill him as they spoke, but Madara still decided to keep him around. He was hoping Sasuke might pick up a girl and produce some more Uchiha blood. He just would watch him until he did. “Yes, Sasuke?” he asked.
“The other shinobi nations are creating terms of surrender. They should be ready within the week,” he said calmly.
Madara smirked. He was immortal and had the power of all the tailed beasts. He was the only one who could control them, and the world was bending to his rule. “Good,” he answered.
“There is one nation who will not surrender,” Sasuke added. Of course Sasuke would damper his day with bad news.
“And that is?” Madara asked as he began to carve his name into the Hokage desk.
“Suna,” he stated blankly. Madara swore the boy was worst then Itachi at hiding his emotions. The last time he had seen the boy smile was when he was killing every council member in a blood rage for sentencing the Uchiha clan to death. He had actually heard him laugh. But since that day his face had been blank.
“Expected. We will destroy them though quickly,” he said digging his nails harder into the desk, “How many Leaf shinobi have not given full loyalty to me?”
“There’s only two currently. The others either fled to Suna, or declared loyalty.”
“How many shinobi do we have then total?”
“Because of the war, far less then a normal village, but still around 200. Suna now would probably have 500.”
Madara nodded. It would take some time to build new Leaf ninjas only loyal to him. “We can ally up with the Rain and the Mist. And if they still out number us, we can use the tailed beast,” he paused, “Who are the two ninjas that haven’t left, but still have not sworn loyalty?”
A man entered and whispered something into Sasuke’s ear. Sasuke nodded and the man left. “Actually one now. The other has just committed suicide.”
Madara rolled his eyes. The person must have been a pathetic weakling. “Then who’s the one?”
“Haruno Sakura,” Sasuke said no change in his voice. Madara knew Sasuke used to be friends with the girl. Revenge must have really changed him.
“Bring her to me then,” he stated as he sat back down in his chair and looked over his village.
“Sakura, we just had another person walk in who’s starving,” one of the nurse yelled at her.
Sakura growled to herself. There was no food in this entire village. If the “Hokage” actually cared he would find food to feed his people. “Send him to the kitchen with the others and try to scrap up as much soup as we can,” she stated continuing to heal the boy.
These people were the only reason she was still here. This hospital that helped so many was the anchor that kept her here. She had lost everyone she cared for because of the Akatsuki. Once Naruto was captured by Pein it all went to hell. They had attempted to save him, but were too late. The tailed beast then trampled over Konoha. Many great ninjas lost their life trying to protect it. Even her mentor walked into the field of battle and sacrificed herself to protect the innocent citizens. She had fought this current “hokage” and lost. Sakura had cried and fought that she now was drained from any happiness. With most of the council members killed by Sasuke, the citizens of the Leaf surrendered. Sakura understood their reasoning. The non-ninja citizens were tired of their village in strife because of the ninja way. They wanted it all to end. The few of her fellow ninja who survived left Konoha for Suna, but she couldn’t bring herself to do it. She couldn’t leave these people who were in pain. So for the past month since the new “hokage” took office she hadn’t left the hospital once.
“Where is Haruno Sakura?” Sakura heard her name and looked up at two ANBU members asking a fellow nurse. The ANBU now had a pattern of the red cloud on their chest. It made Sakura want to gag. The nurse pointed at her.
Sakura focused back on the boy’s leg as the ANBU walked towards her. They towered over her as they said blankly, “Haruno Sakura, you are being summon by the Hokage.”
“I’m busy,” she stated trying to mend the boy’s leg as fast as she could.
“It was not a request, but an order,” the other one replied.
She glared at the two men and hissed, “Unless you don’t want this boy to walk again, I’m staying.”
They looked between eachother, “Our business is not with the boy, and we still must take you to the Hokage’s office.”
Sakura was so frustrated. No, past Hokage would force her presence if she were healing someone. No, past Hokage would deny treatment to his people. She paused and looked around at the busy staff. She called to a nurse who had just finished giving a kid a shot. “Miss, I need you to heal this boy I’m being forced to leave by our precious hokage,” she said in distaste.
The ANBU seemed relieved that they wouldn’t actually have to drag her there. Standing up she left with the two of them. She stood outside the Hokage office doors that she knew very well. She had been into this room multiple times, for mission briefings or just to talk to the women who had become a mother to her. Now, she was going to walk into this office and see the man she hated. The ANBU opened the doors and she followed them inside. It was actually very clean. There was no paperwork to be seen. The wood had even been shine. So the asshole had enough time to clean, but not enough time to walk around the town and see how it was falling apart! She saw an orange mask. She remembered seeing this guy when her team had been following Sasuke’s trail. He had played with them all through out the battle like it didn’t matter. What did he call himself? Tobi? The truth of the matter, no one knew what the Hokage’s name was. He just asked to be called Hokage. Sakura tightened her fist as she saw the mask, but then he turned around to show his face. He was wearing the mask on the back of his head? She didn’t fully understand as she was a bit surprised by the mans overall good looks. Why did strong men always have to be so attractive? He had dark black hair. His bangs shagged low over his eyes. Except Sakura could tell he only had one eye. A deep beautiful brown eye. His hand picked up the cup on his table as he brought it to his lips.
She attempted to focus on how evil this man was instead of his good looks by thinking of the poor boy she was just forced to leave. “You just might have taken away a boys chance of walking by calling me here. What do you want?” she hissed.
He couldn’t help but smirk against the cup of coffee. This girl had some spunk to be demeaning to her new Hokage. He put the coffee down and smiled at her, “Are other doctors in my hospital unskilled?”
“No, but.”
“Then I believe the hospital will do fine without you. Unless Sakura, your saying that other doctors are worthless compared to your abilities,” he interrupted.
“No, but,” she attempted to argue.
“Good, because I don’t appreciate people being cocky it leads to carelessness,” he stated.
Sakura was so pist she began to feel her muscles tighten with extra chakra. The man kept interrupting her. “If you were to leave your clean office every once and a while you would notice that the hospital is overcrowded,” she said back.
“Yes, and we have the poor judgment of the past Hokage to blame on that, and our enemy nations which plot to kill millions of our citizens,” he spun what she said.
He did not just blame this on her mentor, basically her mother. “No, it’s because of your destruction we’re in this situation!” she yelled.
He only smirked, “Sakura, I offered a peaceful transition the village went against it. I only did what I thought right to protect my village. And the only reason attention hasn’t been put into the hospital yet is because were attempting to prevent another war from happening. And I don’t know about you, but I would first like to stop more people from getting hurt instead of ignoring a future conflict to help over paid doctors.”
“Most of us are not even getting paid,” she raised her hands in frustration.
He only smiled at her and sat down, “I do say, you are quite an interesting character.”
“Thanks, now I feel completed sense you think I’m interesting,” she rolled her eyes.
He ignored the comment, “You are the only person in this village who has not sworn loyalty.”
The only person? He had to be lying. All the people in the village would not swore loyalty to this whack job. “So?” she responded.
“So are you for the advancement of this village or against it,” he stated looking at her flustered face. She was quite cute. Maybe, he would take her to his bed later on. He did need to help bring the Uchiha line back.
“I’m for the protection of this village citizens,” she stated honestly.
“Will you then swear loyalty to me?” he asked.
“I will never swear loyalty to you, to a false Hokage. To me you are just that bombers retarded side kick,” she hissed. Before she could blink, he was in front of her gripping her throat. He picked her up by the neck pushing her up against the door.
He was surprised by himself. Normally, he didn’t let comments like that get to him, but something about this girl got under his skin. “I do say you have a problem then Sakura,” he said calmly as she attempted to attack his hands choking her, “I do not put up with disobedience.” He kept his hand tight around her neck for a few more long seconds before he appeared back in his sit.
She grasped her neck for breath coughing at the newly fresh air that entered her lungs. She glared at him, “Then kill me. I have nothing more to live for.”
He looked at her. Why had she not left for Suna if she was so against him? Her actions confused him. “No,” he stated. He wanted to keep her for a while. “Take her to the cells,” he said spinning back around his chair. He heard her fighting from behind him as the two members pulled her out of his office. Yes, he did like her spunk a lot, but he had much more important things to focus on right now.
