Chapter. 6. Bad First Impressions
After they left, I looked at Emily for a moment. She was not moving, which
worried me.
“Miss Moody, are you alright?” I asked her.
I had forgotten that Emily was in a awkward position. At the moment she
didn’t say anything.
The only thing she had done was nod her head, that sign meant she was
alright. I placed a hand on top of her head for a minute.
“I’m fine, Mr. Murdoch. Thank you,” she said afterwards.
I looked at the top of her head, then smiled. But throughout the whole thing,
I forgot about one thing.
Emily looked up after while, her eyes held tears that were close to falling.
“Are you sure, Miss Moody?” I asked one last time.
She looked at me then nodded her head, “Yes, I am fine. I am forever
grateful for your help.” I smiled a little at her.
That was when Lights cleared his throat at something.
I looked up at him then, he motioned towards her with his head. I still
didn't know what he wanted me to see until I looked at her again.
At that moment Lights chuckled at me. I then noticed.
She was on top of me, her legs were on each side of mine, her front half was
pressed to me from fright. Did she even notice?
Form the looks of things, she looked still dazed. She must have received nice
bump on her head from that man.
I then blushed and tried to hide it form Lights and Emily. But Emily saw and
her face was hiding under her dark brown hair with a tint of pink on her
cheeks.
“I’m sorry Miss Moody, I- uh...” I was to embarrassed to say anything
else. I tried to roll her over under me so I could help her up. She fought
against me again.
“No sir, I am sorry. For not noticing,” she said. Fighting the dizziness,
she fell back against me again.
I rolled her over so now I was on top of her, I know for the fact that it’s
another bad position for Emily, because I can hear Lights laughing at us.
I gave him glare that told to stop, but he smiled once again, with a big
boyish grin.
I sighed and then noticed something about her head. I went back to look her
over. The side of her head where she got hit was bleeding a tiny bit.
I stood up before helping her up, “Are sure that you're not hurt Emily?”
I hoped she was not. She nodded her head yes once more.
“I’ll be fine, don’t worry about me please.” I looked at her, then
bent over to help her up.
I offered my hand to her, as Lights watched us. She shyly took it and then
got to her feet. Once she was up, Emily dusted herself and then looked up at
me.
“Once again sir, thank you very much,” she said with her cheeks still
pink. She started to apologize again.
“Miss, I accept your apology. I can't stand still when men are rough with the lassies,” I said to her. It was true, it bothered me some.
Lights came next to me and Emily, “I still can't believe that you bit him!” he smiled at her as she looked up at him. “I never really expected
you to bite someone. I guess Will was just as shocked as I was,” he said making her even more embarrassed.
“Lights, leave her alone. Miss Moody must have had a rough day!” I
defended her.
Emily looked at me with side glance full of gratitude.
“Will, can I have a chat with you?” Lights asked, breaking my gaze with
Emily. I nodded my head.
“Yes! Depends on what it is,” I replied back to him. He motioned his head
again to Emily.
With that I looked back at her, “I’ll be right back Miss,” I said then
walked a few feet to where Lights was.
I didn’t notice that something had fallen out of my back pocket - the photo
of Emily was now right next to her.
-
Once with him, he then asked me “What are you going to do now?”
I thought for a minute or two. “I don’t know yet, I was thinking of
getting Moody. But- if he did see her I don’t know how he would react.”
Lights looked back at her, “She looks like him, face and all. But more feminine. I think you're right, Will. From what you said earlier, she is
supposed to be dead. But here she is, standing behind us.” He stopped for a
bit.
“Uh oh...” was all he said, after a quick glance behind me.
“This is me!” I heard Emily said something. I turned around to see. She
was holding the photo of herself.
She soon panicked, “Just who are you, why do have a picture of me?”
She then ran away from us. As soon she did, I ran after her, “Emily wait I
can explain!” She stopped at the end of the docks.
Her face was red with tears falling down, “Why do you have a picture of me?
How did you know my name was Emily?” she asked, before demanding, “I want
answers!”
I felt ashamed, when she learned that I had a picture of her. “Please, let
me explain, I am not what you think I am!” Lights chuckled softly. I glared
at him.
“Then why are you following me like a stalker would?”
I sighed at her comment. “I know your brother, James Moody,” I said
truthfully. “I got the picture from him, when I asked him what he was upset
about.” I said to her.
“You know where Tybalt is?” she asked.
I didn’t know what she meant. “My brother, James. That is his pet name,
since mine is Juliet.”
I nodded my head, putting my hand into my back pocket to get the ticket. When
I did, a little breeze blew it out of my hand.
I tried to catch it, but when I moved towards it, it fell into the water off
the docks. Now we have a bad situation.
“That ticket was for you, Miss Moody. I am sorry I lost it,” I said to
her.
Done for now, since it’s almost the fourth of July I finished it early.
