Gollum was having a nice relaxing swim in the river, scouting for food and feeling frisky. The thought of the ring was bugging him, but the hunger was growing increasingly disturbing.
Suddenly he saw a shadow floating by below him on his right side. This was his chance. He acted without blinking for a second and his arm shot down at quite an impressing speed.
Feeling the rough skin of soon-to-be stomach fillings he raised his hand treasuring the newly caught prey safely within it. The sudden satisfying rush got to his head. He ran out of the water yelling and screaming noises that didn't even make much sense to him.
After he got tired of cheering and dancing he sat down to take a smug peek at the fresh catch. As he slowly loosened the grasp he gazed in sincerely stupid curiosity. What he saw was a small blue creature with a strange growth on top of its head.
"What are you?!" he exclaimed in blinding rage. The creature looked almost as perplexed as Gollum and it answered in a shaky voice.
"M-mu-mud-k-k-ip." Its head-limb shaking synchronized with the voice. Gollum was genuinely charmed. He thought he should make the little creature more at ease in some manner. The mudkip smiled nervously up at him.
Carefully lifting the small critter up to his mouth he kissed it softly, yet passionately on its small mouth. The earlier shaky head-extremity was now seemingly solid. Gollum brushed over it with the fingers on his left hand. The vibrant, smooth surface was pleasant to the touch.
Gollum felt a disturbingly intense urge to lick it. In a momentary split-second of insanity he used the whole surface of his tongue to brush the blue limb from the mend with the skull to the tip. It gave him a sensation that left him longing for more.
The mudkip seemed equally delighted, although it swayed with a look of disorientation. It was grinning like an extraordinarily idiotic animal. The first impression was mutually impressive.
