Tag Team duel

Hiryu growled slightly staring down Chancellor Sheppard and Dr. Crowler, but he kept the sound under his breath. Barely a month after he entered the academy he managed to obtain a subtle friendship with Jaden Yuki and his little sidekick Syrus. He watched Jaden duel Chazz Princeton twice; duel Alexis once noted with a smirk on his face that the blonde bombshell had her interest piqued with the Slither Red duelist. However the incident in question was because the blond had got caught by a mercenary duelist paid to apparently teach Jaden a lesson in humility and probably trying to get Jaden expelled. And the good natured doofus doesn’t realize it was the lipstick wearing transvestite. Hiryu thought dryly watching as Crowler dressed them all down apparently only he, Syrus, and Jaden were called he doubted Alexis or Chumly would though their families reputation probably wouldn’t allow. Also Crowler never seems to pick on students from his dorm. A girly blond version of Professor Snape from the Potter novels. As it was after Crowler stated his case he also proposed a tag team duel Syrus looked pale at the thought. “I’ll team up with Jaden,” Hiryu stated.

“Oh no I think Syrus should be the duelist instead,” Crowler said a nasty sneer on his face.

“Not up to you lipstick face, Chancellor,” Hiryu stated hearing Crowler ground and basically sound indignant. “I feel it would best represent a fair match if Syrus was excluded, Jaden and I can kick the leaving tar out of any tag team in this school.”

“He does have a point Dr. Crowler,” Sheppard snickered a bit at my insult but turned to the man.

“Fine, but I get to choose some special opponents, then,” Crowler's sneer reappeared.

“Bring it on,” Jaden piped in. “This is going to be so sweet.”

Glanced at Syrus who took a deep sigh of relief as Hiryu gave him the thumbs up, the three of us left the head of schools office and headed down to main chamber of the school. We spotted Bastion, Alexis, and Chumly. “So how’d it go?” Chumly asked.

“Hiryu and I, have a Tag team duel, cool huh?” Jaden chirped cheerfully.

“Lose and we get expelled, win and we don’t simple as that,” Hiryu stated with a deep frown.

“What’s up?” Alexis asked.

“Crowler’s going to select our opponents,” Hiryu snorted. “He doesn’t exactly like me or Jaden much, Jaden because of his cheerful and nothing can phase me attitude, me because I constantly question his sexuality,” he snickered.

“Sounds like a bad formula,” Bastion stated.

“It could have been worse, Crowler originally wanted me to duel with Jaden,” Syrus stated tentatively.

“I see,” was the only thing Bastion could come up with, Hiryu couldn’t really say anything nice, he looked at Syrus’s deck once, it was theme deck behind the Roid machine types, outside of the Crystal Beast decks, it was probably one of the weakest decks you could have. At least in Hiryu’s opinion for Syrus it was probably a good deck. Hiryu sighed mentally that means he’ll need to practice with his old Spellcaster deck until the actual duel, of course that was alright most of his monsters, spells, and traps, mirrored the ones in the new deck.

“Come on Jaden let’s get practicing,” Hiryu stated pulling his new deck out of the reader and his old deck back in.

“Why’d you do that?” Jaden asked.

“Not revealing my new deck until duel time Jaden so,” he paused for a second then smiled. “Say Syrus after this tag team duel would like to use my old deck?”

Syrus eyes widen, “Are you sure, you would trust me with cards like those?”

“Sure, most of the cards I got in the new deck have similar effects, to the ones I got in the old; I was planning on retiring it after I got into a big duel to reveal my new deck. This way both my decks will still be active,” Hiryu explained. Syrus looked awed for a few moments before looking down at his current deck. “Think about it, the deck will be waiting.”

The next few days Jaden and Hiryu met after classes, mostly because Hiryu had different classes but also they lived in different dorms. Hiryu was a Ra yellow, instead of the blazer or long coat, Hiryu wore a vest, black jeans, basketball hi-top shoes white on black, fingerless gloves, a red short sleeved undershirt. His blue eyes were always intense with light-brown cut traditionally, and a black baseball cap. His features were mildly handsome and he partially noticed a few girls from both the Ra and Obelisk dorms eying him. The practice duels gave Hiryu an idea of what kind of deck Jaden used which was primarily an Elemental Hero deck. He had to admit it fit Jaden’s persona easily, after the practice session the day before the match Hiryu entered his room in the Ra dorm and pulled out a small metal tin opening it a small velvet lining was settled in on the bottom. Hiryu reached down pulling out his Spellcaster deck looking at it, “You guys got me through a lot in the last three years I thank from the bottom of my heart, if Syrus chooses to use you guys then be as good to him as you were to me,” he smiled sadly gently setting the cards into the small tin and gently putting the lid back on. From this moment on Hiryu firmly set in his mind to use his new deck.

The next day he met Jaden and Syrus at the entrance to the main arena. Hiryu glanced in at the huge crowd gathering. “Looks like Crowler is expecting us to lose badly.”

“Let’s show him how we can get our game on,” Jaden puffed out hitting his chest a bit.

God he reminds me of Gai and Lee, all Jaden needs to do is start spouting about youth and making outrageous bets. Hiryu sweat dropped a moment looking at Syrus before giving the short boy another thumbs up before all three entered the arena.

Crowley went to this long speech before introducing his stringers Para and Dox the Paradox Brother the duelist who challenged and were defeated by Yugi Moto and Joey Wheeler at Duelist kingdom.

“Figures girly-guy would do this, the bastard,” Hiryu snorted slipping his new deck into the card reader and stepping onto the platform.

“Awesome,” Jaden stated standing about ten paces away in the box next to me as we waited for the dueling rules for this Tag team duel.

“Get on with it, Girly-guy I got an Exodia essay due tomorrow,” Hiryu shouted at the doctor who growled under his breath.

Hiryu activated his duel disk taking a deep breath smirking in anticipation, “Time to Duel!”

“Get your game on!” Jaden smiled activating his own duel disk. The Paradox brother did as well. All four duelists drew the obligatory five cards. Hiryu looked at his hand and nodded glancing Jaden who as usual had his cheerful face on; he looked across at his opponents.

Para and Dox I wonder how they’ll get Gate Guardian out with the tribute rules in effect, certainly going to be interesting to find out. Still with this deck they’ll be guess specially they won’t know the monsters, spells, or my trap cards and how they’ll relate during the duel, which gives me all the edge. Hiryu smirked deepened all three other duelists watched him, “Guess I have the honor of going first,” he drew looking at it and nodding to himself, “I lay one card face down and summon, Naruto Uzumaki 2000/100 in atk mode!” everyone in the dueling arena looked on in shock as Naruto made his first ever appear in a setting that was not his own show. Doing a front flip landing on his feet hands balled into fist. “Welcome to the dueling world Naruto.”

The hologram turned back to him and gave his traditional fox grin as well as a thumbs up. “What is this, there are no monsters like that currently in circulation!?” Crowler shouted.

“Your right doc, these cards won’t be in circulation for at least a year, right now I’m the only one that has them and before you start yelling foul, I got permission from the PDA(Professional Dueling Association) and Industrial Illusions to use these cards, I making their debut her and now.”

“Sweet card!” Jaden stated cheerfully as Naruto smiled brightly.

“Very well, get on with your duel,” Crowler stated though he looked worried. Hiryu was a great duelist in Crowler’s mind sure he lacked humility and certainly lacked respect for authority but he was an excellent duelist he went to Ra because he chose it. Now with group of cards never seen before today he had the odds stacked in his favor.

“I surprised you have such a card, but this will be better, I summon Jirai Gumo 2200/100 in atk mode,” Para stated summoning a giant spider.

“My turn I summon Elemental Hero – Burstinatrix 1200/800 in def mode,” Jaden stated.

“The best defense is a strong offense, you fool, Kaiser Sea-Horse 1700/1400 in atk mode,” Dox stated.

Well I found out how they’re going to summon Sanga of Thunder, they’re going to use Kaiser Sea-Horse’s effect to tribute him for the beast. Hiryu thought

“Next I activate a spell card, Tribute Doll, I need to sacrifice one of our monsters luckily my brother is so generous, I tribute Jirai Gumo to summon Kazejin 2300/2000,” Dox replied and the huge monster of wind appeared.

Damn wasn’t expecting that, and with him on the field things just got tougher, if I attack Kaiser using Naruto they’ll Kazejin’s special effect. Hmm unless, Hiryu smirked.

Meanwhile Jaden looked on, Let’s see I got Burstinatrix in def, Hiryu’s got one card face down and that sweet level four monster with 2000 attack points, but that’s nothing compared to the firepower those two are packing, wonder what Hiryu’s smiling about though.

Hiryu drew and smiled, “I summon Sakura Haruno 800/2100 in def mode, and lay another face down, your turn baldly.

“Be careful what you wish for, I activate the spell card Monster reborn return Jirai Gumo to the field but he won’t be stay, I activate a second tribute doll, to summon Suijin 2400/2500,” Dox states.

Awe crap that means they’re going to bring out Gate Guardian this turn that sucks. Hiryu looks down at his hand. I got last at least two more turns to bring out the one monster these clowns will lose against.

With that, “Mind if I borrow a monster brother,” Dox asks Para who promptly agrees and using Kaiser Sea-Horse’s effect are able to summon Sanga of Thunder the field upon. “Now with these three we sacrifice them all to special summon the Gate Guardian 3750/3000.” And I attack your Naruto Uzumaki with Tidal Surge Attack!”

“Man what a moron, you turn out to be baldly, I activate my trap Konoha Village Walls this trap is basically Negate Attack in the form Naruto’s home village protecting him and all those on my side the field, also it end the battle phase,” A huge wall at least sixteen stories appears between Naruto and the end coming attack preventing it from striking.” Dox growled. “Boy and you’re considered a professional.”

“I end my turn with a face down,” Dox stated laying one card face.

“Guess it’s up to Jaden, kick it,” Hiryu stated looking down at his hand, Just one more turn if I can survive it, they’re going after me because I got the highest attack monster on our side of the field, with over grown golem standing there it’ll be difficult but we can get it.

“Right,” Jaden drew and smiled. “Sweet first I summoned Elemental Hero Clayman to the field and next I’ll use polymerization, fusing My Clayman with Burstinatrix to form Elemental Hero Rampart Blaster 2000/2500 in def mode.”

“Going to use its effect to attack them directly?” Hiryu stated causing both Para and Dox to pale.

“You got it, sure it’s only 1000 life points but what can you do?” Jaden stated his monster attacking dropping the two goons into the drink by a 1000.

ParaDox: 7000

Jaden/Hiryu: 8000

“My turn I draw,” Para stated drawing a card. “I play Fairy Meteor Crush, now whatever monster in defense mode and I choose the Blaster!”

Hiryu didn’t do anything and Jaden’s monster took the hit, “Man why did you help out?” Jaden asked recovering.

“Take a look at their side of the field jay they got a face down card and until we know what that is it’s best to let it pass, besides it’s only 1550 life points we got a long way to go here Jay,” Hiryu explained.

“Right,” Jaden glared calmly at his opponents.

Jaden/Hiryu: 6450

ParaDox: 7000

“Before I end my turn I summon Defense Wall 100/2100 in def mode, now only you can attack him,” Para stated.

“Well gotta hand it to ya baldly your certainly living up to the hype, but I’m not about to lose. I summon Sasuke Uchiha in attack mode and activate the field spell card Team Seven Strike, you see blockheads, this card is unique in order for me to play it I need one Naruto, one Sasuke, and one Sakura on the field at the same time you been so busy worrying about Jaden’s monster’s you didn’t bother to attack me. Now it’s going to cost you, because from this moment on Team Seven has rendered all your attacks to nothing that includes Gate Guardian and Fairy meteor Crush because as long as these three guys are on the field all your attack are reduced to 0.”

Dox winced for a second drawing a card. “You think that scares me your partner is defenseless.”

“Try attacking him and see where it gets you tattoo skull,” Hiryu states.

“I end my turn,” Dox states.

Well things are actually looking up all Jaden needs to is get a monster on the field. With Team 7 on the field none of Gate Guardians attacks will get through, and in one turn it won’t matter, because I got the two spell cards that’ll end this duel. Hiryu smirk reappeared.

Author’s Note: If anyone has some good ideas for Konoha cards that Hiryu will use during his time in Duel academy please don’t hesitate to think of things. But remember this is Yu-gi-oh cards have to have weaknesses no all powerful uber cards. I need Monster’s, spells and traps.

Another I need to address is Hiryu’s love interest, should it be an already established girl from the series or an OC?

Spell card - Fukasaku's Training: this card can only be used when Naruto Uzumaki or
Jiraiya the toad sage are on the field. Tribute either or to special summon
the card with the same name 'sage mode'

Spell Card: Quick play - Hinata's sacrifice: this card can only be used when Naruto Uzumaki is on the field and Team 8: Hinata/Shino/Kiba in the graveyard. Tribute Naruto
Uzumaki to special summons Naruto Uzumaki: six tailed form.

Gaara of the Dessert Warrior type 5 1900/2500 Effect: while in defense
position this card cannot be destroyed in battle or by a spell or trap effect.
