Challenge: Making Up Challenge
Discliamer: I do not own any of the characters in this story... Though if I did we would all have a jolly good time together... They all belong to J.K. Rowling, and so does everything else in this story.
“Ah I see dear ol’ Snivillus is glaring at me again.” Said Sirius Black to his best friend James Potter and all though the comment had been directed to James, Remus Lupin said to him in a cold tone. “Of course Snape’s glaring. People want to live.”
This had probably been the first time Remus had spoken to him directly since the incident with Severus. So Sirius couldn’t resist replying with a humorous comment.
“No, they just don’t want to die. There’s a difference.” He said. Remus only rolled his eyes and collected his stuff and walked towards the Great Hall’s doors, most likely heading towards the library.
Sirius sighed, watching Remus walk out of the Great Hall. James patted his friend on the back. “I think it was too soon for humor Padfoot, way too soon.”
Sirius sighed again and laid his head on the table. “I miss talking to Moony, but no matter how many times I apologize he won’t listen to me! I don’t know what I’m supposed to do to get his attention Prongs.”
“Well you’re lucky my troubled friend!” James announced with a smirk on his face. Sirius raised his eyebrows curiously. “Now all you have to do to get his attention is –“He whispered his plan into Sirius’s ear as quietly as possible so no one around them could overhear.
Sirius’s face had begun to turn a bright pink when James was whispering in his ear. When James had finished Sirius looked at him as though he were a mad man. “Are you out of your fucking mind, Prongs? I can’t do that! Remus would hate me even more then he does now if I did that to him!”
James shrugged his shoulders and said “Fine, don’t make up with Moony, don’t ever tell him how you feel. But you can’t ever say that I didn’t come up with a bloody brilliant plan.”
Sirius sighed once again and after a few moments of thinking over the plan said “Fine! I’ll try your ‘bloody brilliant plan’ but if it doesn’t work you better learn to sleep with your eyes open.”
James only smiled at this and gave Sirius a wink. Then he got up from where he was sitting and walked casually over to where Lily Evans was sitting, no doubt asking her out yet again. Sirius’s suspicions were confirmed when he heard Lily yell “NO!” and storm off out of the Great Hall.
Sirius smiled despite everything and got up himself and set off to find Remus, but when passing James he slapped him lightly on the back of the head.
‘This had better work.’ Sirius thought grumpily as he walked in the direction of the library.
Finally catching sight of Remus sitting in an armchair with a pile of books on the table beside him, Sirius walked over to him. Remus didn’t notice Sirius standing in front of him until he heard someone clear their throat.
Remus looked up from the book he was reading and instantly his face turned into a deep frown, Sirius was standing in front of him with his arms crossed over his chest.
“What do you want?” Remus asked angrily. “Well for one thing,” Sirius started “I want you for once to listen to what I have to say.” Remus of course didn’t listen to him instead he quickly stuffed his pile of books into his bag and stormed past Sirius, not even giving him a second glance.
Sirius sighed and chased after Remus, who was on his way back to Gryffindor Tower. “Why can’t you just listen to me?” Sirius yelled while running after him. The boy who was running in front of him didn’t give an answer, as Sirius had expected, but instead started to run faster.
Given the fact that Sirius was a faster runner than Remus he quickly caught up with him. He grabbed Remus’s wrist and spun him around so he was forced to look at him. “Why won’t you at least listen to me Moony?” He cried desperately. As Remus fought with Sirius to let him go, completely ignoring what he had just said, Remus looked close to tears.
“Leave me alone!” Remus shouted as he tried to release himself from the bigger man’s grip on him, and after a few minutes of struggling Remus finally got free. He ran away as fast as his skinny little legs would carry him, with Sirius still running behind him, shouting his name.
Sirius was getting tired of all this running but he didn’t dare stop running. He was going to talk to Remus and he was going to do it today.
“REMUS JOHN LUPIN, WILL YOU JUST LISTEN?” Sirius shouted angrily after him. But Remus kept running, trying to escape from him. The little man tried his best with turning corners and trying to lose Sirius, but at last, Sirius once again caught up with him, and yet again Sirius spun him around with a much stronger grip on his wrist.
“Look I just –“Sirius had started but Remus interrupted him “No.” He tried again. “I just –““Fuck off.” “Remus! I-“If you don’t leave me alone RIGHT NOW, SIRIUS ORION BLACK –“
But Remus never got to finish what he was saying, for Sirius had just crushed his lips onto his. Remus stared straight ahead in a very stiff sort of way. Eventually though he closed his eyes and started kissing Sirius back.
He wrapped his arms around Sirius, and Sirius deepened the kiss.
They both enjoyed the kiss very much and neither of them wanted it to end but they had to breathe eventually. Remus’s cheeks had turned a deep red during their little moment; the same was for Sirius’s.
“Listen Remus, I really am sorry for what I did. I truly am. Please can’t you find it in your heart to forgive me?”
Remus for awhile, just stared at Sirius, but then he smiled a sweet smile and said “Yeah…You’re forgiven Sirius.” Sirius grinned. “Oh and Moony and in case you haven’t figured out the obvious, I love you.”
Remus smiled brightly and pressed his forehead against Sirius’s, staring into those beautiful grey eyes. “I love you too Padfoot.” Sirius grin broke out into, if possible, a wider grin. He had never felt so happy in his life before.
Then, noticing just how close their lips were, Sirius closed the small gap and enjoyed another long kiss with Remus. This one though wasn’t as long as the last because they broke apart when they heard James’s voice say “I came at a bad time. Sorry I’ll leave you two alone now.”
They watched their friend walk away, and then Sirius turned to look at Remus and said “So…Broom Cupboard?” Remus smiled eagerly and together they set off to the closest Broom Cupboard.
