“Prologue”
By: Nyago

Red flames engulf Main market place as people continue to run to get away from the burning wreckages that continue to fuel the fire from structure to structure until nothing but burnt ash remains. Piles of deformed humans and the smell of death surround those who were stuck inside the buildings and could not find a way out.

Hundreds, not thousands of humans scream in agony if not by the flames but as darkness surround. Among the wreck and blood, stood a young prince staring at the place he once had call home. His people were dying, and his city was in the last stages of coming down upon him but even among the misfortune, he still manages to keep his hope up. His father was still alive, he along with the 6 priest, we're going to do something soon. Alternatively, so he hoped they will.

People continue to scream and run all around but the prince wasn’t affected.

“Prince!” someone calls out, running towards him as he tries to avoid the burning inferno that surrounds the city. “Prince!” he calls out again.

The one call prince turn to face the one who called him, only to see his father most trusted advisor running towards him. “Yes?” He asks, as he tries to help an old lady get up from the ground as she thanks him and rides along with her family in a wagon to escape.

“You must return to the palace quickly, your father is worry about you!” he asks, as he avoids people running into him.

“I cannot leave our people dying Simon, you as well as, that they are dying. We lack many soldiers from the war and need all the help we can get” The prince spoke as he continue to help others, and get blessed from the bottom of their souls.

“But not someone as yourself your highness!”

“Nonsense” he said, as he places his finger up to silence. “For as long as people in Egypt need my help, I will be the one to help them!”

His father advisor knew not to argue and complied. “Very well, I will see that you are being helped as well my prince” as he saw the prince help a group of people get a family out of a crushed rumble before coming back to speak with him.

“There is no time, things are looking bad enough as it is, we must hurry!” Before the prince could speak another word, the other houses had already begun to fall down, and before his advisor could even react or move, he was out of harms way as he began to regain his wandering mind. “Wha…” he spoke as he saw he was on top of something that moved into the air and back down again. “Who…” he notices that which save him wasn’t human…. A large black dragon with deep ruby red jewels all around its neck and wings, plus a long spiked tail and dark red eyes stare at the prince as he safety lands in the ground and let’s go of the prince. “A dragon here in Egypt?” he prince wonders.

“Glad to see you are safe your majesty...” a voice so soft and child-like whispers as the young prince began to turn around to come in person with….

Atemu awoke in a heavy sweat as he pushed the bed sheets of his body. Again that dream had plagued this night as well. Before he would even begin to turn around, he was always awakening in a cold sweat. How many nights does this one make it that he had the same dream? Every time he never gets to see who saved him?

For he knew he was the prince in the dream, his father had said so, as his family always follow the blood of the pharaoh’s since ancient Egypt first rule. Magic also became part of his life as well in a young age, so he knew half the time dreams either meant your past or your own future. Depending on your magic. However, he knew it was the past, after all, palace doesn’t exist anymore and his family doesn’t rule Egypt, but they did and still possess great influence in Egypt today.

No, he wasn’t concern to dwell on the dream. If anything it frustrated him. He wanted to know who saved him back then, even a small hint of their face, but he never gets to that part. His teacher and oldest friend always told him, when the time comes to reveal, it will show itself. However, how long does he have to wait?

Atemu sighs in frustration. “One day….” He mumbles to himself. One day.

For those words, Atemu life is about to take a very strange twist very soon.

So? How ya like? I hope it's better than the old one; I wanted to make it now more Atemu point of view, so I can actually write the Yugi I always wanted to try. So here it is! Please don’t forget to comment! :D
