He wondered why he felt so compelled to bring home the remains of Marty's letter. After all, the smart thing to do would have been to leave behind.

But maybe he wasn't as smart as everyone said he was.

Maybe he was just too curious for his own good.

Maybe he missed Marty more than he thought.
