Happy Fathers Day
By: The Clover of Damnation/DoomFlavoredLollipop
She hadn’t counted how many times she set her gaze over to the door of the guest room. A small curious worried frown formed on her lips at wondering what was conspiring in there… The rose hedgehog sighed once more getting back to the tea resting between gloved hands.
He’s been in there for an hour… What could he be up to in there…? Amy wondered to herself.
Ever since they had gotten home, Amy and her son Dark, her son had been in that room. He had taken the bag of art supplies from her rushing to the guest room.
“I’m gonna be reeeeal busy, mama! So don’t disturb me, please, cause I don’t wannt
A ruin what I wanna make!” Were the boy’s words before he closed the door, and he hadn’t been out since!
Dark had been bent on making something ever since he discovered earlier that day that today was Fathers Day. When Amy had revealed that bit of information to him, he begged her to take him to the nearest art store!
“I wanna make daddy a gift!” Was what he exclaimed to her with wide jade orbs, and a smile stretching across his muzzle.
On their way to the art supplies store, the two hedgehog’s came across the boy’s father. He looked as though he was in quiet the grumpy mood trying his best to avoid any communication with anyone who liked to. But his son was persistant! With a vice-like-grip hug upon him, he was able to convince the older male to come over later.
“I’m gonna have a surprise for you when you come over later!” The smaller black hedgehog mentioned to him excitingly.
“Fine,” Huffed Shadow crossing his stripped arms over his chest. “But I’ll only stay for ten minutes at the most…” Was all he had to say in unamused tone.
With that said and done, and after another hug forced upon the Ultimate Life Form, Dark seized his mother’s hand trying to rush them on home.
I wonder what kind of gift he’s making in there… The female hedgehog wondered once more as she set her teacup onto a coaster upon small living room table.
That is when the doorbell rung spooking her! She jumped with a small noise of fright before rising up from out of her sitting place.
“Coming!” Amy shouted running up to the doorway knowing exactly who was at the front door.
She opened up the door to find an impatient Shadow standing there waiting for her to indeed answer.
“Where’s the boy?” He asked taking a step forward. Crimson orbs scanned the living room for any sight of his look-a-like.
“He’s in his room.” Replied the pink hedge-female with a grin. “But let me go get him…” And after shutting the front door, she carried on with what she said would do.
Shadow simply took a seat in a chair waiting for all of his to be over with!
“Dark, sweetie…” Called Amy knocking on the door of the room her baby boy was in.
“Wait! I’m almost done!” Was the whining exclamation on the other side of the door.
“But your father’s here…”
As soon as that had been said, quite a bit of ruckus was emitting from the room!
What the hell is going in there…? Wondered the boy’s father arching an eyebrow.
About a few seconds after Amy had ‘disturbed’ Dark, he finally emerged from the room had confined himself in. His furry body was covered in things such as glister, bits of differently sized paper, glue, and small markings of colors. Ruby streaked arms snaked behind his back encasing the item he worked so hard on for his father.
His mother couldn’t help, but giggle at him! “Oh, Dark, you’re such a mess!”
“I know, but I was working soooo hard that I didn’t mean to!” Protested the boy with small black ears lowering.
“It’s okay.” Reassured his mother patting the top of his head. “We can get you all cleaned up in a few okay, okay!” A wink was administered with her words.
“Okay mama!” Agreed Dark with his ears standing back up, and his tail wagging happily.
“When you’re done with the mindless chatter, let me know.” Remarked a certain life form growing irritable and bored!
In hearing his rude words, Amy sent him an annoyed glare! But before she could verbally retaliate to his words, she was cut off by her son’s booming voice.
“Oops! Sorry daddy!” Dark shouted making his way to the grumpy male.
“Hmph.” Was the only thing he said waiting impatiently for his so-called ‘gift’.
Emerald eyes lite up as those tiny arms of the boy’s slowly revealed the present he had hidden behind his back.
What was in tiny gloved hands was of a poorly constructed paper replica of ‘Shadow’s’ Chaos Emerald. It was a size or two bigger than it with the connected corners either glued ot taped together. The coloring was done in a green crayon with glitter all over it.
“I made you another shiny gem!” Said the tiny life form having a wide grin stretching across his muzzle. “That way if you lose one, you’ll have another one!”
Amy wanted to squeal at how cute and thoughtful her baby boy was! She also wanted to encase him in her arms and weep!
At first, when Shadow saw this wannabe emerald, he was greatly unamused! But when his son said that to him with so much love and excitement… He sighed while reaching out when stroking the boy’s head. “Thank you…” Were the only quietly spoken works he said to him.
