He sat staring at the sky. Today it was a deep blue with very little clouds, and the soft wind brushing against his face was soothing and yet uncomforting at the same time. After all, the air here wasn't meant for a fire demon. Over the years he had gotten used to the foreign scent, but sometimes it still made him sick.
"Hey, Koray. Come on, or we're gonna be late!" Came the voice of Reuel, his friend and fellow warrior. "What were you doing up there anyway?" Reuel asked as Koray jumped down from the roof of his house.
"Nothing. Just appreciating how peaceful it is." Koray said with a slight grin on his face.
"You've been thinking about the past again..."
Neither of them said anything.

Koray and Reuel came to a large stronghold that was surrounded by a large stone wall. Only certain people had the right to enter on a regular basis, and all other required an invitation or had to recieve permission. The main building of the stronghold looked like a medival castle, with lots of towers that acted as conference rooms. It was heavily guraded everywhere in the stronghold, as the ruler of the entire Island lived there.
The two friends entered the main building without question, and ascended many flights of stone staircases. They entered one of the rooms and sat down at a small table with two other men, named Cleitnese and Archelaus, and a woman who had all gotten there ahead of them.
"Welcome, Generals. I trust you've all been well." The woman said.
"Yes, we have, Lady Katana." Three of them said.
Katana glared at Koray, the only one who didn't respond. "Is there something wrong?" She asked the overly laid back fire demon with a cigarette hanging out of his mouth.
"Nope. Nothing at all." he replied.
"And get that thing out of your mouth! How many times do you I have to tell you that it’s bad for your health?!"
"Ok, ok! You don't have to yell...." Koray shrugged as he put out his cigarette.
"Well, getting back to the reason we're all gathered here..." said Cleitenes. "I'm sure we've all noticed a rise in activity from the Black Knights."
"Yes, this is a real problem. If they manage to get the upper hand, we could all be finished!" Archelaus said, with great concern.
"Perhaps the time has come that we confront them in an all-out war...." Reuel said with no anticipation whatsoever.
"It seems so...." Katana said grimly.
"There's no need to go to such lengths." Koray said. Everyone turned to look at him, with confused expressions. "I'm willing to bet that whole point of these Black Knight attacks is to scare us into digging our own graves. After all, no one is really certain what manner of warriors they have hidden across the world, ready to fight at their master's whim. If we were to try to attack them upfront, it would be their chance to destroy us."
"So what do you suggest we do?" Katana asked challengingly.
"Increasing the guard throughout the towns should do for now." Koray replied.

After further discussion, and some argument, they were all dismissed. Koray lit up another cigarette as soon as he was off the stronghold's grounds.
"Are you sure this will be alright?" Reuel asked him. "I mean, these are the Black Knights...."
"Don't worry, alright. I've never been wrong when it comes to those bastards, so just trust me alright? But unfortunately I'm gonna have to leave things in your hands until I get back."
"Get back from where?" Reuel asked curiously.
"I'm taking..... Something of a personal vacation to another world."
"Again?! Damn it, you know that’s against the law even for us!"
"I won't be long. Just a few days, at most."
"But....."
"Look, this is something I have to do on my own."

"Hm....." Koray said as he looked around him. There was nothing but forest all around him, except for a beach far to the south and a temple not too far away. He could sense living beings both human and demon at the temple and started to head in that direction. He could tell that there were other, extremely weak demons lurking in the forest, but he knew they wouldn't give him any trouble.
He soon came across a large set of stone stairs, which obviously lead to the temple, and began to climb them. He spotted a large gate not too far head. But then he stopped.
Four auras surrounded him; two were human, and two were demon. He expected them to attack, but nothing happened. They just stood there, watching him.
But then, one of them attacked with considerable speed wielding a sword. Koray dodged easily, jumping back and landing a few feet away from his attacker. He took a good look at the small being. He was a short demon with black hair that spiked upwards and had blood red eyes.
"Hiei! What the hell are you doing?!" Yelled a teenage human boy with brown eyes and black hair that was slicked back, who jumped out into the open.
"Yeah! I mean, are you crazy or something?!" Shouted another teenage human boy. He was quite ugly and had an annoying voice.
"I can't believe you guys just blew our cover...."stated a slightly older boy with red hair who appeared to be human, but had a demon aura.
"I don't know what your problem is, you fool, but this guy is obviously an intruder, and I thought our mission was to take down the intruder!" The one called Hiei shouted back at his supposed companions. They didn't seem to get along too well.....
"You're either blind, or as dumb as you are short!" the kid with the slicked back hair yelled at Hiei. "Can't you see what’s going on?!"
"No!"
"Hiei, even I've noticed....." the red-head started.
Clearly this was starting to annoy Hiei. "Notice what?!"
"That this guy looks exactly like you!" All three exclaimed in unison.
Hiei looked closely at the stranger standing before them. He was tall, wearing all black, a sword hung at his waist along with what seemed like a variety of smaller weapons. His aura indicated that he was a fire demon, his eyes were blood red, and his thick black hair flew in almost every direction. The only difference was that there was no white in his hair, and he had scars all over his body.
Hiei stared for a while, unsure of what to say. Sure there was a little resemblance, but it's not like he would admit that to the others.
Suddenly, Koray smiled largely and said, "Well, quite frankly despite what your friends say, I don't see the resemblance." This response shocked everyone, especially Hiei, who expected the stranger to say something different. "But anyway, back to business. My name is Koray. How about you introduce yourselves and explain this mission of yours, and then I'll tell you what I'm doing here."
"Fine! We're Koenma's Spirit Detectives, and I'm Yusuke Urameshi." Said the boy with the slicked hair.
"Kazuma Kuwabara." The ugly one stated with a cocky grin.
"Hiei" The short one said with no expression whatsoever.
"And I am Kurama." Said the red-head. "Lately there have been strange people wandering around these lands, and our mission is to capture them and find out their purpose."
"I see. Spirit Detectives. That makes sense." Koray said with little surprise. "Unfortunately, you've got the wrong guy. This is the first time I've ever been here."
"How do we know we can trust this guy?" Hiei said suspiciously.
But before his question could be answered they heard nearby rustles, and suddenly huge, deadly auras enveloped everyone's conscience. No one could move. No one could do anything except wonder where these auras were coming from, and what caused them. No one, except Koray.
"Hm.... seems they've come..."
