Beetho: I was listening to my Fantasmic! sound track (the audio part of the Fantasmic show at Disneyland. I dunno if the ones at the other parks are the same or different) and I got an idea. What were to happen if the monks had to find a shen gong wu at DISNEYLAND :D (I know, Disneyland wasn’t around 1500 years ago, but the makers of XS made that same mistake in Time After Time 1). Well, let’s just see how this turns out . . .
Warning:DisXs-ness!! And I own nothing but my OCs and ideas.
Chapter One: A Lesson Learned
“Kids! We’ve got a hot one!” Dojo shouted. The four dragons - in - training came tripping out from their rooms at five in the morning, sleepy and still in there pajama’s. “It’s the Happy Gage600 - named after the year Grand Master Dashi built it in.” Raimundo yawned and clung to Ninja Fred.
“What does this gage thing do? And why can’t we wait till later to get it . . . like around noon-ish maybe?”
“This is one powerful wu and can be very helpful to the Heylin! It can drain the joy out of the preppiest people and steal all smiles within two miles from where it’s used. When set to reverse, it can turn the biggest Scrooges into the most happiest giving people, and glue a smile onto the face’s of anyone within two miles of the user. When combined with the Sword of the Storm, you can send the Happy Gage600's power nearly 1000 times its original distance,” Dojo explained. “You do the math. It’s effect is similar to the Zing-Zome Bone, except it doesn’t turn you into zombies.”
“Hm, I guess we wouldn’t have to worry about that if Raimundo didn’t lose the Sword in his last showdown against Wuya!” Kimiko barked, shoving Rai away from her. “Now we have to hurry in get it before Lao Meng and Wuya do!”
“Exactly!” Dojo exclaimed.
“What a strange shen gong wu. . . Why would Grand Master Dashi make such a wu? It seems to me that its powers would be quite troublesome,” Omi commented. Dojo shrugged and shoved the Shen Gong Wu scroll away.
“Beats me. Do you want to wake travel 1500 years back and ask him?” Dojo quickly enlarged himself 24 times his normal length and looked down at the monks. “Well c’mon! We don’t have all day!”
Kimiko looked down at her outfit, and then to her comrades. “Can we at least get dressed first??” Dojo looked down at them. He sighed and waved his small arm.
“Make it quick!” The monks ran back to into their rooms and dressed quickly.
They had no idea where they would be going so each of them took a sweater just in case. It was early December and it was pretty cold around the temple at that time of the year. The monks ran back outside to Dojo. Omi was in his normal attire. Raimundo wore his beige cargo pants and a grey sweater; Clay wore his usual blue jeans and button-up shirt, but this time he wore a brown leather jacket over it. Kimiko, being the outgoing, Japanese, techno. chick she was, went all out in only a few minutes. She wore light purple tights and a white, knee-high skirt. Her white vest with a hood too big for her head complimented her skirt, and she had on a long sleeve purple shirt underneath.
“Ready!” the four chorused. They hopped on Dojo and set off to the East.
They flew toward the coast of China, and Dojo kept on going. Around seven in the morning, they were soaring over Hawaii and nearing the West coast of the United States. Once Los Angeles was in site, Dojo began to fly in circles heading away from L.A.
“Dojo, where are you going?” Omi inquired. The mystical dragon sighed in defeat.
“I can’t tell where that wu is! My instinct is telling me that it’s here in California, but the closer we get to Los Angeles, the feeling begins to fade. Like it’s not there anymore! But my wu senses are tingling, we have to be close!” Dojo complained.
“Dojo, partner, you sure you’re not just feeling that rotten egg role you ate last night?” Clay teased.
“Oh, haha, very funny, Cowboy. I know shen gong wu when I sense it!”
“What about that time—” Dojo cut Raimundo off.
“DROP . . . the subject! It’s just gotta be here somewhere!”
Dojo decided to take his chances and flew further over L.A. Omi jumped up on his back and pointed.
“Over there! Do you feel that?!” he inquired, excited. “Dojo, onward!” Dojo looked back at him for a quick moment.
“Omi, the closer I get to Anaheim, the feeling becomes dead. I don’t know what you’re feeling!” Dojo replied, continuing to fly in circles, sniffing the area. Omi jumped again.
“No, it is a familiar presence! And I think I know who it is. . .” the young monk pushed. “Trust me, Dojo.” The dragon did as he was told.
“Disneyland!” Kimiko shouted with glee. “I’ve never been to the one in Cali before,” she exclaimed. Dojo landed behind a small motel and the kids looked up at the rides in the park from across the way.
“Neither have I . . .” Clay and Raimundo exclaimed, looking at the rides in California Adventures Theme Park. Omi ran toward the sidewalk, away from Disneyland, but near an extra parking lot for the theme parks.
“Over here!”
Kimiko, Clay, and Raimundo with Dojo around his neck ran after Omi. Clay pulled the monk back from the street as a car zoomed by. “Wah!” he yelled. He sighed in relief and turned around to Clay. “Thank you my friend!” Omi then turned back around and pointed across the street. “There!” His friends gasped and got into fighting stance. “Chase Young!” Omi called. The Heylin was staring at the theme park and ignored him. Omi looked both ways before crossing this time; his friends followed. They gathered behind him and were ready to attack.
“It’s about time you four showed up with your pet,” he said calmly.
“Spoon over the Happy Gage600, Chase!” Raimundo flopped out of his stance and moaned.
“It’s ‘fork’ over the Happy Gage!” he corrected.
“Yeah, we know you have it Chase! Why else would Dojo not be able to sense it?”Kimiko chimed in.
Chase chuckled to himself. He kept his back to the teens and shrugged. “I don’t know what you’re talking about. I have no use for the Happy Gage600. True power comes from within, not pathetic trinkets.”
“You can’t fool us, you low down, dirty snake in the grass!” Clay exclaimed. He jumped up and called out his element. “Earth!”
“Wait.” Chase held out his hand. Clay paused and lightly fell back down to the ground. “I tell you the truth. I’m not after this shen gong wu. But I can tell you that you’re on the right path.”
“What do you know?” Dojo spat. Chase whirled around, eyes gleaming.
“Would you like my help or not?” the Heylin inquired. “I’d rather see this shen gong wu in your hands than Lao’s.” The monks nodded in agreement. After their last lost - well Raimundo’s - they needed this wu badly, and didn’t want to risk Lao and Wuya getting a hold of it.
“We accept your help, Chase,” Omi spoke up. “What can you tell us on the where about of the Happy Gage600?” Chase relaxed and turned back to face Disneyland.
“You are at the right location.” Dojo was about to interrupt, but Chase growled. “But if you look at the bigger picture, you’re at the wrong location.” The monks looked at each other, confused. “You don’t understand? Of course not. You four are inexperienced when it comes to traveling to different Realms.”
“Say what?”
“Dude, what are you trying to say?”
“Come again?”
Chase sighed to himself and looked at the rising sun. It was about seven-thirty. “There are different Realms. Inside these Realms are Worlds. We live in the Realm that is called Warner Brother’s. Beings from other Realms tend to refer to our World as the Xiaolin Showdown World.” The monks exchanged uneasy glances.
“We’ve never been taught these things,” Omi finally said. Chase held out his hand to silence him.
“I can tell. We toons don’t call it that, though. Where was I . . . Ah, there are many different Realms. For example, another is Disney.”
“It’s just called that?” Raimundo inquired. “Pft, someone lacks in imagination. . .” Chase ignored his comment.
“Do you have any idea what that means? If all the Realms share nearly the exact same Earth, its continents, locations, etcetera - but have it all accustomed to what they know and how they live?”
The monks looked at each other and shrugged. Dojo sat coiled on Omi’s head, thinking. Kimiko tapped her chin and continued to ponder the perplexing new knowledge. Then it hit her. She snapped her fingers. “So . . . you’re saying that we’re at the right place, but wrong Realm!” It wasn’t a question, she understood now. Chase nodded his head.
“Precisely.”
“So, the Happy Gage600 is at Disneyland—but which Realm? There must be dozens!” Clay exclaimed. His friends frowned. Omi took a step closer to Chase.
“You’ve been a great help to us so far Chase . . . do you know which Realm the shen gong wu is in?” he inquired.
“The original Disneyland was built in California in 1955. Out of all the Realms, where do you think the original Disneyland is located?”
“The Disney Realm!” Kimiko replied.
“Makes sense . . .” Raimundo muttered. Chase turned to face them and gave them a half smile.
“The Disney Realm . . . but what would one of Dashi’s shen gong wu be doing there??” Dojo asked aloud. Chase didn’t answer him. Instead, he opened up a portal behind the young monks and their dragon.
“Go. You’ll find that returning will be no trouble at all. I can’t say that the portal will lead exactly to the park, but it should put you close enough to where it will be easy to find.”
The four friends and Dojo turned around to walk into the portal, no questions asked. Chase turned around to walk away, but Omi grabbed a hold of his armor. “Wait!” The villain looked down. “Thank you, Chase.” He flicked Omi’s hand off him and continued to walk away.
“Think nothing of it. And don’t mention it, really.” Omi smiled.
“If you insist.” He ran off into the portal. It closed behind him.
