I have no idea where the idea for this story came from, I am just rolling with it and I hope you like it.
Mackenzie Korklan was always a loner, part of it being because she was the youngest child in her family, and another part being her two older brothers were wrestlers, her second to oldest brother, Matt, however was the pride and joy of the family.
Growing up Mackenzie, or Kenzie as Matt called her was always pushed to the side because Matt was a licensed wrestler in the state of Missouri at the age of seventeen. Matt went on to move to Philadelphia where he became well known in Ring Of Honor and he later wrestled for Total Nonstop Action, the second to largest wrestling company in the world.
Matt left TNA and ROH to go wrestle in Japan leaving Mackenzie to fend for herself because he was always there for her when she needed him. Out of the three brothers that she had, Mackenzie was the closest with Matt because he was always the more outgoing of the family. When Matt left for Japan, Mackenzie was devastated, but he came back as promised with a new deal.
Matt signed with Wrestling Society X, a wrestling industry that MTV chronicled, but that was short lived. Right after he became a free agent with WSX, he was signed to WWE's developmental territory OVW. Matt debuted in the fall of 2007 and his career there quickly skyrocketed. He was called up to the main roster in June of 2008 and quickly made a HUGE impact on the company becoming an instant fan favorite with his signature finisher, the shooting star press.
Mackenzie couldn't be happier for her brother, the co-worker of his she didn't like was Jacob Hager known to the world as "The All American American" Jack Swagger.
Mackenzie never went on the road with her brother but for her twenty-first birthday he surprised her with airplane tickets to his show on St. Patrick's Day where he made his return from injury. Mackenzie walked behind her brother through the halls of AT&T Center as he lead her to his locker room.
"Are you going to be okay here while I go practice my match with Jamie," he asked as Mackenzie nodded.
"I'll be fine Matt," she replied, "I am just going to get something to eat. Where exactly is catering at? I'm starving."
"Down the hall and it should be the first door on your left or right, it depends on the arena," Matt said kissing her forehead and walking out the door, "Kenzie, don't get into any trouble."
"I won't Mattie," she replied, "I promise."
Matt smiled and shut the door behind him while Mackenzie grabbed her iPhone from her bag with the earphones and headed off down the hall listening to her music not paying attention to where she was going when she bumped into someone and fell flat on her butt.
"I wish people would start watching where the hell they are going around here," the lisped voice of a very tall blonde haired man said as Mackenzie stood up.
"I'm sor-sorry," she stuttered.
"Whatever," the blonde replied, "I don't have time for this, I am the two time, two time, All American American Jack Swagger."
"I don't care if you are Bill Gates or Donald Trump," Mackenzie fired back, "I said I was sorry now build a fucking bridge and get over yourself you ogre."
Swagger stood there with a smirk on his face as Mackenzie stalked off down the hall and into the catering room. He couldn't help but wonder to himself just who this girl was, he didn't know her, but he sure would like to find out.
Mackenzie grabbed a fruit plate and a bottle of water from catering and sat down at a table in the back corner by herself when a tanned blonde woman came over to her.
"Hello," the blonde said in an accent which Mackenzie knew was French, "I'm Maryse and you are?"
"Mackenzie Korklan," Mackenzie said sticking out her hand as Maryse smiled and shook it.
"You must be Bourne's little sister that he always talks about," Maryse said sitting down in front of her.
"You are nothing like your character," Mackenzie replied causing Maryse to smile, "Don't take this the wrong way, but I thought you were going to be the one I had problems with when I got here."
"I'm not a bitch, I just play one on TV," Maryse replied as she smiled causing Mackenzie to laugh.
"Who's the blonde ogre looking dude over there," Mackenzie asked.
"That would be Jake," Maryse replied, "Everyone in the world knows him as Jack Swagger. He's a creep if you ask me. I hung out with him one time and he like became attached until I slapped the taste out of his mouth in front of the entire roster. Why do you ask?"
"Because the douche bag was giving me a hard time in the hallway when I accidentally bumped into him."
"Just stick with me and your brother and he will leave you alone," Maryse said, "Would you like to be introduced to some of the other girls?"
"Sure, why not," Mackenzie said standing up as Maryse held out her arm and Mackenzie took it like they were two old friends.
"Hey guys," Maryse said as she walked over to a table of WWE Divas, "This is Mackenzie Korklan, you know Bourne's sister."
"It's nice to meet you," a short long haired red head said, "I am Maria, and this is Nikki, Brie, Katie, and Layla. Nikki and Brie are twins in case you haven't noticed."
"It's nice to meet you all." Mackenzie replied as Maryse gestured to an empty chair next to Nikki.
"So, are you going to be a diva too or are you here visiting your brother," Brie asked.
"I'm just here visiting my brother, I'm not exactly Diva material."
"Bloody hell," Katie said with a British accent, "We all think you are very pretty, don't we girls?"
"Yes," they all said in unison.
"Thanks guys," Mackenzie replied as Jack sat down at the table behind them.
"Freak," Layla whispered, "He's so creepy."
"You're telling me," Maria responded, "He thinks he's a god around here."
"Mackenzie already had to put him in his place," Maryse whispered.
"What happened with the bloody bastard," Katie asked.
"I wasn't watching where I was going in the hallway and I bumped into him and he told me that I should watch where I am going because he is, 'The All American American Jack Swagger,'" Mackenzie said rolling her eyes causing the girls to laugh.
"What did you say back to him," Brie asked.
"I told him that I didn't give a fuck if he was Donald Trump or Bill Gates and that he needs to build a bridge and get over himself," Mackenzie said as all the girls laughed causing Jack to turn around wondering just what they were laughing at.
"Come on," Maria said, "Let's go Divafy Mackenzie."
"Sounds good to me," Maryse said standing up and clapping her hands together as the girls followed her out of the catering room.
Jack sat in his chair and watched them leave. He knew he was rude to Mackenzie, he was pretty sure that was her name now since he heard Maryse introducing her to the girls and to top it off, she was Evan Bourne's little sister which would make this his most exciting game yet.
Jack smirked to himself and headed out of the catering room to his locker room where he saw Evan stretching on a wall.
"You know Bourne, you got one pretty little sister," Swagger said as Matt stood up from the wall and glared at him, "Makes me want to get to know her a little better."
"If you come anywhere near my sister, I will beat your ass all the way to Oklahoma and back," Matt fired back, "Stay away from her Hager, I mean it."
"I'm not going to stand around and listen to a midget," Jack said before walking off down the hall where Mackenzie was coming out of the Divas locker room now dressed in a mini-skirt with pink ballet flats and a tank top that read, "DIVA," on the front.
"Thanks guys," she said walking with her back towards the door when she felt herself bump into someone yet again.
"I guess you didn't hear me clearly earlier," Jack said, "Watch where the hell you are going."
"Who are you to be telling people what to do," Mackenzie asked.
"I am the All American Ameri," Jack went to say when he was cut off.
"Yeah, I know, you are the All American American Jack Swagger," she said, "You might want to get some hooked on phonics for that speech impairment of yours."
"It's a lisp," Jack said like a little kid.
"Let me just set one thing straight with you," Mackenzie said, "Until you have beaten my brother in a match, the one and only, Evan "Air" Bourne…you are nothing but a loser. I don't give two shits if you are the ECW champion."
Matt stood back watching his five foot seven little sister tell off the six foot five Jack Swagger.
Mackenzie looked down the hall and smiled at Matt who walked over beside her and put his arm around her causing Swagger to roll his eyes and walk away.
"Sure, do what all cowards do, Shrek," Mackenzie called out, "Walk away."
"Didn't I tell you not to get into any trouble," Matt said smiling.
"I'm sorry but he needed to be told."
"I see you met the girls," Matt said looking at Mackenzie who smiled.
"Yeah, they are really sweet."
"I'm glad your making friends, but come on you got a big night ahead of you. You are sitting ringside for my match."
"AWESOME," Mackenzie said kissing her brother on the cheek and giving him a hug.
"Anything for my favorite little sister," Matt said as he kissed her forehead.
"Newsflash, I am your only sister."
"…and you never let me forget it either," Matt replied smiling as he kept his arm around Mackenzie's shoulders and they walked to his locker room.
So far, Mackenzie's six weeks on the road started off great. She made some new friends and managed to tell off Shrek's lost twin brother, little did she know Jack was planning sweeping her off of her feet.
