Authors Note: Hey most-likely-tiny group of readers (hopefully someone's out there reading!). I just wanted to mention that this is my first fanfic, and first story I've actually ever shared with anyone really, so I'm quite nervous about it. Please don't be too discouraged by it though, but I don't think this first chapter is a very good representation of how this story is going to be, but it was necessary for an introduction. So I would appreciate it if you would stay with me for a least a few more chapters before completely giving up on me. :). Again, because this is my first story I would really appreciate feedback. No flames though, because those honestly don't help at all. But, constructive criticism would be wonderful. And compliments would basically make my day, hehe. So yeah, this is White Houses, Chapter 1, and I hope you enjoy!
Also! The character's are slightly OOC, because this was actually a regular story I started with and then I decided to see how the Twilight gang might be if I put them in there, I tried to change them to suit their personalities better without changing my story too much. Alright, now I'm done.
Disclaimer: I borrowed Stephanie Meyer's characters and decided to see how they would handle my world. I want no credit for their creation.
I do not condone nor condemn underage drinking, I am merely writing a story.

The sound of Jasper's car woke me from my daze. I had been staring at the kitchen sink for apparently over 20 minutes just thinking about my childhood home and how I would be seeing much less of it soon before the roar of his 1965 Buick Skylark so rudely interrupted me. I almost was annoyed but then I remembered why the car would be coming down my street in the first place, not that it wasn't at my house almost as much as it was at Jasper's place, but this meant it was time to leave, for three whole months. I ran to the bottom of the stairs where I had left my bags and began dragging them to the front door. The horn blared just as I heard the brakes come to a screeching halt in front of my house. There was nothing I could do but roll my eyes. I got all my stuff outside and locked the door. I turned to see Jasper almost giddy with excitement. Of course, to anyone else looking at him they would say he was as cool as a cucumber, but I knew my best friend inside and out. He was leaning against the driver's side door his arms crossed loosely across his chest, his left foot propped up on the toe and crossed over his right foot and a slight smile tugging at his lips. His fingers made subtle yet sharp movements, almost like he had a nervous twitch and his eyes were wider and more mischievous looking than usual. This was Jasper Whitlock's equivalent to someone jumping up and down and clapping their hands.
"Come on Swan, think you can move any slower? I'm feeling a bit rushed with the way you're hustling out here!" Always the sarcastic one, it just made me want to pinch his cheeks, or smack them, whichever.
"You know, if someone would get off their lazy ass and grab a bag maybe I'd move faster." I decided to move even slower, I felt it was necessary.
He should know better, walking on level ground with no extra baggage had not always been the easiest thing for me to achieve. Add two large suitcases and a backpack to the mix: yeah, thanks, I think I'll take my time Whitlock.
He finally shoved off the car and headed toward me. I thanked him as he grabbed both of the suitcases and headed back to his car.
"Jesus Bells did you have to bring so much shit?" He asked while trying to fit my bags into the joke he considered to be a trunk, okay well the trunk was pretty big but he had so much random crap in it that it reduced the size of it significantly.
"If you think this is a lot, just remember we're picking up Alice. I'd be surprised if she didn't double this," I told him truthfully. My friend Alice was not one to under pack; you could say she had a relationship with clothes that I would never be able to understand.
"Do you really think Brandon will bring a lot of stuff? I don't think my baby can handle too much more," he said seriously while rubbing the top of the car.
Jasper had a thing about his car, he had it since before he got his drivers license, it was cheap and used and not in the best shape. But it was functional and his, and not red. The fact that his car was not red was very important to Jasper. He had said that he could never drive a red car, it was way too obvious. Of course it was Jasper, of course it was.
"Yeah, it's fairly likely. But anything we can't get in the trunk we can just put in the back seat with her, she won't mind."
He nodded and we headed to our seats. Once he turned on the ignition the stereo began blasting some kind of strange mix between electronica and blue grass. I'll be honest when I say it sounded like shit. But Jasper loved finding different types of music to listen to, anything that you couldn't find in most places, especially on the radio. Most of his discoveries were excellent, but I had to turn this new thing off fast before a headache formed.
I had to give him directions to Alice's house. He'd only been there once to pick me up from a sleepover and that was a year before. When we pulled up in front of her house he didn't honk like he had with me. He knew it was rude, and he didn't know Alice well enough to be rude to her. I got out of the car and headed towards her front door.
I was so happy that Alice was coming with me on this vacation, I could not handle being the only one with a vagina living in a house for three month with three dick holders, I just couldn't do it. It took a little bit of convincing on my part, but I broke her in the end.
1 month prior
"Alice! Please I am begging you, I cannot survive in a hotdog fest for three months!" She laughed slightly but still seemed nervous.
"I don't know Bella, I don't really know any of them, I think it will be kind of awkward living in a house with three guys I don't know."
"You know them. You've hung out with Jasper before. And Edward, well you know him as much as I do, and I know that you like Emmett, he's always a nice guy."
"I know they're all nice guys, I just feel weird because you all know each other so much better than I do." She began fidgeting with the hem of her skirt. It was very unusual for Alice to be timid, around me at least. At school she was able to remain calm and collected but once we were alone she became like a firecracker of energy. It was probably because she would just bottle it up and the minute she was around people she knew she let it explode.
"I don't know the other two guys all that well, this is mostly Jasper's doing. He's friends with Edward who in turn made him good friends with Emmett, I don't know, those three are pretty close I guess but I rarely hang out with them. And you're my best girl friend, I have to have you there for support when I start getting emotional, and I want to be able to spend my last summer with you." I put on the best pouty face I could manage, I was nowhere near as good at begging as Alice was, but I had to try.
"Alright, alright, I'll go! But please Bella, please just remember how awkward this whole situation is for me, I'm only doing this for you and because I want to spend our last summer together too, you're my best friend." She said softly, we normally didn't get too emotional about things but I knew it was hard for her to open up to other people. I truly was her best friend, because I was her only real friend. She had friendly acquaintances but nobody that she spent time with outside of school, except for me.
"Oh thank you thank you thank you Alice, I promise you won't regret coming, we're going to have the best summer ever!" I jumped up and hugged her hard.
Before I could reach the door Alice had swung it open and in true Alice fashion began walking gracefully out while holding two rolling suitcases, a duffle bag hanging from each one and a backpack without even breaking a sweat. She had the body of a gymnast, she was about 4'11" as petit as could be and probably one of the strongest people I knew. Her mousy brown hair hung just below her chin and I could see excitement and nervousness in her big round eyes.
"Hey kiddo, you ready to go?" I asked as I grabbed one of her bags to help, although I doubted she actually needed it.
She nodded and smiled up at me, apparently talking was not an option for her at the time as she was probably trying to settle her nerves. I leaned in closer to talk to her so Jasper couldn't hear us as we got closer to the car.
"Don't worry chickpea it's going to be fun, you'll be comfortable with the guys within the first ten minutes once we get there, I know it." She nodded again.
"I hope I brought enough clothes, I wasn't sure how much to bring, or where all we'd be going, or how much shopping we'd get to do." She began rambling; I had to stop her before she decided she needed to bring another bag.
"Don't worry, this should be fine, there's a washing machine and dryer there too so you can re-wear something if it's needed. And I'm sure you'll drag me shopping as much as you can." I told her laughing slightly. I heard Jasper chuckle lightly from inside the car, probably both from the idea of me shopping and Alice's preposterous idea that she hadn't brought enough clothes. I could almost feel him cringe as she pushed and shoved her large suitcases into the trunk. We decided that if we took both our backpacks and one of her duffle bags out and put them in the back seat with her, then the rest of the luggage could fit snuggly.
Once we made our way back to the front I let Alice slide through the door into the back seat before I took my seat up front. Jasper turned to me once I closed the door.
"Jesus you women bring a lot of shit with you on vacation," he said shaking his head and chuckling silently.
"Sorry," Alice mumbled, I saw her tiny cheeks turn red and she ducked her head down.
Jasper turned back to her and gave her a small smile.
"Ain't no big thing." He shrugged putting a slight fake Southern drawl to his words. "Now, you ladies ready for a road trip?"
I raised my arms up in the air a yelled like I was on a rollercoaster. There are not many things better than a road trip.
We headed on our way for Ocean Shores; it was about a two and a half hour drive from Forks, where we lived.
We had decided that we wanted to go away for the whole summer, just to spend it together with friends and away from Forks, where there was literally nothing to do. It turned out that Jasper's friend Edward's family had a home that they owned, for whatever reason, down there. Don't ask me why rich people have more than one house in the same state, because I don't understand it either, but I didn't really care because it was free lodging. The house that we were to stay in was right along Duck Lake, somewhat nestled into the woods. I was practically bouncing off my seat with excitement by the time we made it into town. It was a Monday so traffic hadn't been bad and we made it there earlier then planned. Edward and Emmett drove down together, and despite the fact that we could have left before them I was sure they would be there first. I had rode in a car with Edward Cullen once before in my lifetime, which was definitely enough for me to come to the conclusion that the boy liked to drive fast, like I was pretty sure he thought he had some kind of race to win whenever he got into that damn Volvo of his. And Edward Cullen doesn't lose races.
After what felt like forever of just looking at trees we came to an opening where the concrete road slowly morphed into a gravel road and then became just a dirt pathway with tire tracks. The three of us just stared out the window in awe at the house we would be staying in for the next three months. This was no mere cabin on the lake; this was more like a mansion sitting right smack dab in the middle of the forest. Goldilocks would have had a fucking field day.
The house was a clean bright white with navy blue shutters on the windows. There looked to be at least three stories if not more to it. There was a small front porch with a couple of chairs off to the side and a porch swing hanging towards the edge. The front door was navy blue to match the shutters and looked big enough to allow a very large and very tall person entrance easily.
Just as we were piling out of the car, said front door burst open and out ran a very excited Emmett running towards me at full speed. I had no time to react before I was grabbed, lifted, flung over his shoulder and spun around in circles.
"Christ Emmett I'm going to puke all over you if you don't set me the fuck down," I screamed trying to not blow chunks on my new housemate. He laughed deep and boisterous but decided against becoming a human napkin and set me down on my feet. Smart boy. Unfortunately, I was still too dizzy and my feet decided they didn't feel the need to function properly so my body began falling backwards. I braced myself for the landing but instead I felt arms come up between my armpits and stopped me in mid-fall.
I leaned my head back to see my bronze haired hero looking back at me.
"Bella, always a pleasure to see you," he said with a grin.
"Edward, always nice of you to save my ass," I nodded back at him as he set me upright. He kept his hands on me shoulders until he was sure I was steady.
"Yeah, can't have anything happen to that nice ass of yours Swan," Jasper said while walking past me and smacking my ass. I let out a small yelp and jumped forward in surprise. I laughed and turned back towards the car and see Alice looking extremely sheepish.
"Hey, you guys know Alice right?" I asked Emmett and Edward trying to get her in on the fun too; she needed to be able to loosen up around these guys.
"Uh, yeah, we had History together last year right? With Mr. Goodman," Edward said to Alice. Even though the two of them had gone to the same parties since junior year, of course the only thing he could think of is a history class. Although it wasn't like they talked at those parties, Alice and I rarely went to them and she hardly socialized when we did.
"Right, yeah." Alice replied pathetically, although I doubt I would have a better response to that either. Edward gave her a small smile then headed to the back of Jaspers car to grab some bags.
"Of course I know Brand-o! We had like three classes together this year," Emmett replied happily then proceeded to pick her up and hug her. She let out a shocked squeal, but once she figured out what he was doing she calmed down, sort of. Enough to start laughing nervously.
"Uh, hey Emmett, how's it going?" She asked not sure exactly how to react once he set her down.
"I'm doing fan-freaking-tastic this summer is going to be off the wall, hands down best summer ever," he said excitedly. I couldn't help but be just excited as him.
"Hell yeah it is!" I yelled while giving him a high-five.
"Alright guys, let's get your stuff inside then I can show you what rooms you can stay in," Edward told us as he walked towards the house holding one of my suitcases and one of Jaspers. I grabbed my backpack and my other suitcase and followed him into the house with the others.
The foyer was beautiful; the walls were white and had several paintings that hung on them. There were two mahogany tables on either side of the room, holding picture frames and vases with no flowers. The floor was hardwood but a large oriental rug lay in the middle. The ceiling was extremely high and went up past the next floor. Farther into the room on the right side were a pair of sliding doors and on the left was a large opening revealing a living area in the next room. At the end of the room was a large hardwood staircase. I could see that once at the landing you had a choice of going either right or left, left led to more stairs while right led you to a door.
We all began following Edward up the stairs. He stopped at the landing and turned towards the door to the right.
"This here is Emmett's room," he said pointing to the door, "Sorry, he called it," he added.
We nodded and continue on our tour. To the left of the landing there were four steps, they were covered in white carpet along with the long hallway adjoined to it. The banister from the stairs came up and went down the hallway then wrapped around to make a T formation with the hallway, then went around until it touched the wall to the left. We walked down the hallway and Edward led us to the right. There was a short hallway with two doors, one was directly to the left and the other was at the very end of the hall. Edward opened the door to the left, and we followed in after him.
The room was small, but big enough to be comfortable for one person. There was a full sized bed in the middle of the back wall with a deep purple comforter. The walls and carpet were a clean white. There was one picture of the lake at sunset hanging above the headboard. There was a dresser and a small closet provided for clothes, and the nightstand had a digital clock and an empty vase sitting on it.
"So this is a single, obviously, this can be either Alice or Jasper's room." Edward informed us. I look up at him confused.
"Wait, why can't this be my room?"
"Uh, there are only four bedrooms, so two people have to share. I figured you wouldn't mind sharing with either Alice or Jasper, sorry." He rubbed the back of his head while looking around the room.
"Oh, that's cool. So who wants to bunk with me?" I ask looking at Jasper and Alice. Alice looked at me timidly then turned to Jasper.
"Um, Jasper, do you mind if I stay in here? I'm not quite used the Bella's sleep talking and I kind of want to be able to sleep through the night." She looked at me worriedly as though I would be mad. I didn't blame her, Jasper and I had grown up together and we had plenty of sleepovers, he was completely immune to my sleep talking.
Emmett let out a large snort at the mention of my somewhat embarrassing sleeping habit. I could feel the heat rise to my face, I wasn't exactly embarrassed that I talked in my sleep but I wasn't exactly planning on Emmett McCarty or Edward Cullen ever finding that out about me. Jasper chuckled slightly.
"No problem, Bella will you accompany me to our suite?" He asked while offering his arm for me to lock mine with. I smiled and the two of us followed Edward to the room at the end of the hall where we would be staying.
Our room was three times as large as Alice's. There was only one bed but it was a king size bed, so I had hoped that I wouldn't have to worry about Jasper trying to spoon with me. Though I was sure that hope was a lost cause. Oddly he had always liked to cuddle; I wasn't allowed to tell anyone that though, he would have revealed an even more embarrassing truth about me if I did. Definitely not worth it. The walls, like the rest of the house I found, were a clean white. There was a large dresser against the back wall next to the small walk-in closet. On the left side of the wall there was a large comfortable looking armchair next to a small but full bookcase. I broke into a smile imagining sitting there and reading all afternoon on lazy rainy days.
Jasper and I set our things down as we looked around the room. I looked at both of the boys then ran and jumped onto the large bed.
"Oh man, this bed is comfortable!" I exclaimed resting my head on one of the many fluffy pillows. "Jasper dear, join me on our bed will you. I have a feeling we'll be spending much of our time here."
He laughed but laid down next to me.
"Oh shit Bells you're right," he said surprised that I wasn't exaggerating. He pulled me into his arms and started snuggling his face into my hair. I couldn't help but laugh, not even a minute on the bed and the boy already wanted to cuddle, but I let him, it was very comfortable. Edward chuckled softly.
"So would you guys like me to leave you with some privacy?" He asked jokingly. I looked up at him and smiled, I didn't want him to think there was actually anything romantic about Jasper and my relationship. He was like a better version of a brother to me. I can't lie and say I had never thought about how an actual relationship with him might be, but I never would have acted on any feelings I had towards him. It wasn't worth losing a best friend over something as boring as a boyfriend. I was also sure that the only reason I ever did get the idea in my head that maybe Jasper and I could be something other than friends was because I was a teenage girl and he was the closest teenage boy I had in my life, I would be crazy not to at least think about it every now and then. Plus Jasper was surprisingly good looking. I say surprisingly because when we were younger he was somewhat cute but he had no signs of his potential to actually be handsome when he grew up. He had lost all his baby fat, pretty much any fat at all really. He had a square jaw and defined cheekbones, he never had to deal with acne, his skin was unfairly flawless, it also had a natural tan to it. He had a noticeable dent on his long nose from when he broke it trying to teach me how to climb a tree when we were seven. He had the most calming eyes to look into, they were gray but friendly, they reminded me of a body of water right after a storm. Like his eyes, his whole demeanor was calm, he never got overly angry or excited, or at least he never appeared to on the outside. He had an unnatural charisma about him that just calmed people down when he talked to them; I never met anybody who disliked Jasper.
I attempted to get up but he held me tighter and shook his head.
"I want to take a nap and I'm comfortable like this Bells."
I sighed but stopped struggling, a nap did sound really nice. I gave a small apologetic smile to Edward, he nodded and smiled back. He closed the door behind him when he left.
"I think that's the most I've ever heard Cullen talk in a day," I said turning slightly towards Jasper, as much as his restraining arms would let me. He shrugged against me.
"Edward doesn't really talk much unless it's necessary. That is, until you get to know him, then he can talk for hours about anything." I was just about to get into a more comfortable position when I remembered Alice.
"Shit, I should probably go check on the pixie, she's been really nervous about this summer and I should probably be there to ease her into this."
"She and Emmett seemed to get along alright, please Bella just five minutes of rest. Then we can go downstairs and see what everyone is up to." I agreed reluctantly.
As comfortable as I was I couldn't help but become restless. I was excited to start the summer and I didn't want to do that by lying in bed all afternoon. After a couple minutes of my squirming Jasper finally sighed in defeat and got up. He picked me up and threw me over his shoulder, deciding, for some reason, it was best for us to get downstairs quickly and I would be too slow for him.
While being ran down the hall I noticed Alice's door was open and she wasn't in there. I had hoped that she was with Emmett and Edward becoming more comfortable. When it came time for the stairs I became scared, I wasn't sure if Jasper would be able to carry me down without both of us tumbling to our death. Fortunately, for how clumsy I was Jasper made up for with his ridiculous dexterity. I only hit my head against his back once. When we got to the bottom of the stairs we both looked around, we never did get the grand tour of the house and neither of us knew which way to go. I pointed to the area to the right of the stairs. He walked us down the short hallway; there were three stairs that led down to a landing. Against the back wall was a door leading outside towards the lake that was somewhat in the distance but it was still visible through the trees. On the left side of the landing was an open door that led to stairs going down, I assumed that it was a basement. To the right was a dark narrow hall that had three steps going up. We could hear Emmett's boisterous laugh through the closed sliding door that the small staircase led to. Jasper went up the short way, still carrying me over his shoulder, and opened the door. On the other side of the door was a very bright very large kitchen.
Edward and Emmett were sitting on barstools at the island; while Alice leaned against some drawers a little bit off to the side. She looked like she was getting a little bit more comfortable, but not enough to stand or sit closer to the guys. Jasper set me down on the counter next to the sink then walked over to the island and sat down on the last barstool.
"Hey, what's going on?" Jasper asked looking around at everyone.
"We were just talking about what we are going to do tonight; we brought enough alcohol for a couple weeks. There are a few bars around this area, but I'm not sure we'll be able to get in. But whenever we need alcohol I have my fake ID, so we should be good there," Emmett replied. Jasper nodded.
"So, we're going to celebrate the beginning of the best summer ever tonight," I said smiling excitedly.
"Hell yes we are!" I could tell then that Emmett and I were going to be very close friends.
We had decided that the first thing we needed to do was buy food for the house. We decided to just take Edward's Volvo into town. Emmett called shotgun before anyone else could, but it was probably for the best. He was bigger than the average guy of 18 and it would have been extra snug in the backseat. I had to sit in the middle between Alice and Jasper.
Jasper decided that with every right turn Edward made it would be hilarious to push himself into me, which in turn smashed Alice into her door. I doubted he thought about the fact that Alice was affected by it; otherwise I was sure he wouldn't have done it. Jasper was not a rude person; he was actually quite the gentleman for a teenage boy when it came down to it. But we had known each other since 1st grade so he never needed to act like anything other than himself around me. But he would usually act much more respectful when we were around any other girls, it wasn't to try and impress them or anything; that was just how he was wired. Even when he took me to prom junior year he played up the gentleman card as well as he could for me. It didn't last very long, but I appreciated the gesture all the same.
I didn't like it much that my two best friends weren't friends as well. It wasn't that they didn't like each other, they just never were able to find much in common, except for their friendship with me. Alice had it worse because she didn't have any other friends to spend time with when I wanted to hang out with Jasper; while Jasper had Edward and Emmett for times that I spent with Alice. They never went much farther then polite conversation. I had asked Jasper about it once, I was afraid that they didn't like each other.
"I think she's fine Bells," he shrugged. "She's a good friend to you and I'm glad you have her, and seeing as she doesn't really have any other friends I'm glad she has you too. But her and I just don't click you know? She's nice enough; we just don't have anything in common."
"You have me in common," I smiled playfully.
He rolled his eyes.
"Yes, but nobody wants to have endless conversations about you Swan, it just couldn't hold our interests long enough for us to actually bond," he said smiling and poking me in the side. I took the mature road and smacked his head.
Once we made it to the grocery store I immediately regretted suggesting that all of us should go. I felt like I had become Emmett and Jasper's babysitter. I was used to it with Jasper, but I had never spent a real amount of time with Emmett and I soon realized he was exactly like a six year old in a 20 year old weight lifters body. He began running around the store picking up anything and everything yelling back to us asking if we could get it. People began shamelessly staring at us when Jasper joined him in a rant about how 10 boxes of Hot Pockets for the price was a really good deal. They then proceeded to swear that they would definitely finish them all and wouldn't let them go to waste. Yes, exactly like six year olds. I stared at both Alice and Edward incredulously; I wanted to know if either of them was planning on acting like my children. Alice was stifling silent giggles and Edward was just looking at the food on the shelves with an amused smile tugging on his lips. I rolled my eyes and returned to my babysitting duties.
No less than two hours later we finally made it out of the store with at least some food with actual substance and nutritional value to it. I loved to cook, so I decided that I would be the self-appointed cook for the summer. Everyone was on board with that idea, I knew for a fact that Alice and Jasper were both hopeless in the kitchen. I had no idea about Emmett or Edward's ability to cook, but I didn't trust Emmett around fire, or sharp objects, or food I was supposed to consume. We were able to stuff all of the bags into the trunk of the Volvo, which was, thankfully, bigger than Jasper's Buick.
We drove through town and Alice and I looked out the windows to see if there were any stores that we were interested in going in whenever we would come into town. There were several promising looking boutiques along the streets. I even noticed a book store that joined with a record store, I had a feeling I would be visiting that store more than once. We passed one tiny shop that was stuffed between a clock repair store and a furniture store. The shop was purple with a yellow awning, the door wasn't straight, it hung in an asymmetrical angle on its hinges, designed that way it seemed. The outfits in the windows were very fashion forward it looked like, I could only imagine people on runways wearing the clothing that I saw on the manikins. Alice nearly jumped out of the car the moment she saw it.
"Oh Bella can we please go in there next time we come to town, please oh please Bella?" She squealed jumping up in down in her seat. She was bouncing so fast she looked like she was vibrating. All three guys turned to her in shock, none of them had seen this side of Alice that I had grown to love. She noticed their stares and quickly stopped bouncing and ducked her head in embarrassment.
"Sure Alice, if nothing else I want to try to see how to get through that door they have," I laughed. This was something that would put Alice in her element and comfort her; I wanted her to enjoy herself on our trip too, even if it wasn't exactly my favorite activity.
"Oh thank you Bella!" She perked up again, not nearly as much as she had before, but her blush was gone from her cheeks. She hugged me tight then resumed her watching of the stores that we drove by.
I turned towards the front and saw that both Emmett and Edward still looked taken aback by Alice's outburst. Edward had to keep his eyes on the road but every once in a while he would shift his glance to the backseat. Emmett kept his face turned towards the backseat, he played it off by talking to Jasper but he would continuously look towards Alice as though he wasn't sure if she would explode again. I had to bite my lip to stifle my laugh, I knew that if Alice were to eventually let her guard down during summer they would be seeing much more energy than that, and it would be nearly nonstop. Jasper had witnessed a few outbursts from her before, but I think he was always still surprised when it happened. He was able to recover quicker than Edward and Emmett who rarely even heard her talk, let alone witnessed her jumping up and down and squealing.
We made it back to the house in no time; did I mention that I had a theory that Edward Cullen had a secret desire to enter into the Indy 500? Jeez, you'd think we were being chased!
Once we got all of the groceries put away I asked what everyone wanted for dinner.
"Hot Pockets!" Emmett and Jasper exclaimed at the same time. They turned to each other and bumped fists, obviously impressed with their similar one track minds.
"Fine, I'll just make a frozen pizza and some 'Hot Pockets' for whoever wants them," I told them and turned to the oven to preheat it.
The guys each ended up eating their own boxes of 'Hot Pockets' each box holding two. And I had to make two pizzas just so that Alice and I could get a few slices because the guys had inhaled those too. I had forgotten to anticipate the appetite of three teenage boys while shopping. The 10 boxes of 'Hot Pockets' suddenly seemed like a very good deal, just as Emmett and Jasper had told me.
While we ate we got out some of the alcohol that Emmett had brought. That boy had thought of everything, he brought every different type of alcohol imaginable. There was scotch, vodka, tequila, wine, beer, rum, whisky and other liqueurs.
"Shit Emmett, do you think we'll have enough for the night?" I joked staring at the massive amounts of alcohol that he had set out in front of all of us.
"It's not all for tonight Bella, sheesh, don't be such a drunk," he teased me back. I stuck my tongue out at him, in true mature teenage girl fashion.
Emmett informed us that his cousin was a bartender and he had learned how to make a lot of different drinks. I took a few shots of the vodka before he decided to make any of the mixed drinks with it. I have always been glad that I'm a girl because when it comes to drinking I enjoy the girly drinks, I'm not ashamed to say that I'd rather enjoy the taste of my beverage, and if it gets me drunk, all the better. Emmett offered to make a drink called 'Death to a Virgin' but he said only the virgins in the room could drink it. I was slightly embarrassed to admit that I was eligible for the drink, but I was glad Alice was right along with me. I wasn't sure how much of my personal life I was willing to share with Emmett and Edward but they seemed like good enough guys and I had hoped that all five of us could leave after the end of summer as best friends; and best friends share things about themselves. So I had to bring on some courage, which thankfully was easier having had alcohol in my system already, to raise my hand when he asked who would be getting the drink. Alice looked over to me to see how I had responded then mimicked my hand raise. Jasper didn't seem at all ashamed of the fact that he would be drinking it also.
Emmett raised his eyebrows a little when Jasper nodded to him.
"Man, you dated Lauren Mallory, I thought for sure she was on your dick for those few months," he looked skeptical at Jasper's confession. Jasper just laughed.
"Nah man, I didn't feel the need to get herpes at the age of 17," he said with a shrug.
Jasper's relationship with Lauren Mallory had been a very strange era for the both of us the year before when they had dated. Lauren was extremely jealous of the friendship between Jasper and me. I was sure she thought I had a plan of stealing him away from her. I could understand her jealousy though, as much as I disliked her, if I had a boyfriend who had a very close girl friend I would be somewhat suspicious of their relationship as well. That didn't stop me from refusing to hang out with Jasper if Lauren was going to be involved in the plans. I wasn't a complete bitch about it, I never told him that I wanted him to break up with her, and I never told him how much I hated it when he would talk to her on the phone while just the two of us were together. I didn't do any of those things because I didn't want to strain our friendship, I didn't want to give him an ultimatum between the two of us, mostly because I was afraid that he wouldn't pick me. Despite my greatest efforts to be a supportive friend, on the outside at least, our friendship was quite strained. Jasper didn't tell me things like he used to, we didn't see each other nearly as much as we used to, which was understandable. I never got extremely pissed at Jasper for his distance during that time, which I had dubbed the 'Lauren Months.' I couldn't help having hurt feelings but I knew at the same time that he wasn't distancing himself from me because he wanted to be with me less, but because he wanted to be with her more. That is, until he found out that she had slept with three other guys that went to our school and rumored to have slept with a few of the boys who lived on the Quileute reservation that was near our town. Jasper became conflicted on what he should do once he found all of that information out about her. He didn't like the idea that she was so easy, and then he became afraid that she could have picked up diseases during her little romps. He asked her to get tested; when she refused he broke it off.
Immediately after his breakup he came to my house. I hadn't seen him in over a week and was surprised to see him, this had been during a time when my hurt feelings were starting to show outwardly and I had refused to let him into the house until he told me why he was there. When he told me I felt like a complete bitch. I had to remind myself that no matter what happened between us he was still my best friend, my twin, I couldn't let petty things like space between us get in the way of that fact.
Lauren had been Jaspers only serious girlfriend, while he was completely over her I knew he didn't like discussing their relationship any more than necessary. I shot him a comforting smile, and he smiled back and sent me a wink.
Emmett shrugged then went off to make the three drinks. When he returned we all sat around in a circle on the ground of the living room floor. We decided to play a drinking game called 'Chandeliers' first. That game always got me drunk fast, and after just a few rounds my head was starting to spin from all the shots I had to take. I finished off my 'Death of a Virgin' and Emmett took it to the kitchen to get me a refill. What a nice boy.
Because Alice and I were to the point of just a little past tipsy we all decided that we would play another game, one that required less shots of hard liquor. Emmett ran in, my drink in hand, yelling about how he hadn't played 'Truth or Dare' in years, so we had to play it, but with a twist. It would also be a drinking game, and more adult rated. If I had been less inebriated I would never have agreed to it, but as it was I swiped my drink out of Emmett's hand, took a large gulp and yelled "let's do it!"
Emmett explained the rules, we were to play like regular 'Truth or Dare' but if we refused to answer the truth or attempt the dare then we would have to take three shots then chug a beer.
"And we're big kids now, so none of that stupid G rated shit," he added. I couldn't help but giggle a little hysterically, Alice started laughing with me after a moment and we leaned on each other for support so we wouldn't fall. Once we calmed down Emmett decided he should go first, because it was his idea. He turned to Edward.
"Truth or Dare, buddy?"
"Dare," of course, it's like guys have a secret code that they aren't allowed to say truth.
Emmett sat and thought for a moment before an idea popped in his head.
"Okay, you have to get one of those 'Death to a Virgin's' and fill it up, then you have to sit in your underwear until you finish drinking it, but no chugging, you have to drink it nice and slow" he said with a big smile on his face. Edward rolled his eyes and went to the kitchen to get the drink. When he came back in with the drink he set it down then pulled off both his shirt and undershirt. I felt my face grow hot at that moment, I was glad I had the alcohol in me otherwise I would have been as red as a strawberry.
Edward was surprisingly toned. I had never really noticed before, he had nowhere near as many muscles as Emmett, but then again not many do. His stomach was flat but firm. I felt my fingers twitch with the desire to touch his stomach and I immediately looked away twice as embarrassed. Thankfully, nobody had noticed my strange internal reactions. Unfortunately, he then proceeded to undo his belt and I felt my face get hot all over again. I looked over at Alice who was biting her lip and obviously forcing herself to look away from him, I was very thankful that she was reacting the same as me. She looked at me and gave me a small devious smile, which I returned, we definitely hadn't planned on any sort of action happening between the guys and us over the summer, but neither of us were exactly opposed to it at that moment, even though I was pretty sure it was mainly the alcohol making us feel that way. We both looked back towards Edward who was sitting back in his spot only now in boxers, which were plain green and blue vertical striped, and sipping his drink like nothing was different. He smirked at me when I looked up at him.
"I knew you'd try to get me out of my pants sometime this summer Em," he said jokingly looking back over to Emmett who laughed louder than usual.
"Nah man I just wanted to give the girls a little eye candy, and I thought I'd ease them into the good stuff by starting with you. Can't start them too early on the sexiness of me, it could throw them into shock," Emmett looked at both Alice and myself and winked; we couldn't help but burst into giggling fits. Once we calmed down again it was Edward's turn.
"Jasper, Truth or Dare," he turned towards Jasper who sighed and responded, of course, with "Dare."
Edward got an evil looking smile on his face. I had to laugh when I saw that, I had a feeling Edward wasn't going to be alone in his underwear for long.
"If we're giving the girls a show we may as well make it good. How about you turn on some music Jasper and give them a little strip show, down to your boxers."
I so called it.
Jasper sighed and took a drink of the liquid courage before he got up and walked over to the stereo. I could tell he was not comfortable doing the strip show, so I felt it was only necessary to make it a little bit worse for him.
Once the music started playing and he walked back over towards us I got up on my knees and started yelling.
"Oh yeah baby take it off! Let's see what you got under there! That's right do a little twirl for us sugar!" I tried to yell without laughing but I couldn't quite contain it, everyone started cracking up with me and Jasper gave me an exasperated look.
"Shut up Bella or I'll make your turn ten times worse," he warned. I just continued laughing. He unbuckled his belt quickly then pulled his shirt over his head.
"Jasper you have to at least sort of dance to the music, this is the worst strip show I've ever seen," I told him. Alice was lying on the floor with tears in her eyes because she had been laughing so hard. Emmett and Edward both were having a hard time keeping straight faces.
"Give the girls what they want Jasper, dance for them," Emmett yelled through his laughter. Jasper just ripped his pants off and threw them in my face and sat back down. I looked up to him.
"I had planned on tipping, but that was just too disappointing," I told him with as serious a face as I could muster, waving his pants in his face. He grabbed his pants so quickly out of my hands that my doubly slow reflexes didn't even have time to register what had happened before he turned to me with a look similar to the one Edward had made before he dared Jasper.
"Alright Bella, Truth or Dare?" I gulped in response to the evil smirk and menacing sound of his voice. I probably shouldn't have provoked the beast, yikes! I wasn't sure which option would be worse. Jasper knew everything about me, so I knew he could use the Truth question to reveal something insanely embarrassing about me, but with the Dare I might have do something equally as embarrassing. I really wasn't comfortable with the idea of sitting in my underwear around everyone. I finished off the rest of my drink and looked him straight in the eye.
"Dare." I sounded much more confident than I felt. He began tapping his chin, his gaze averted towards the ceiling, acting as though he was thinking about something extremely important. He then looked down to me and gave me the biggest most evil smirk I've ever seen.
"How about you go sit in Edward's lap for the remainder of the game." My eyes became wide, and the only thought running through my head was fuck, fuck, shit, fuck, motherfucking Whitlock, and fuck! I should have known that he would want to get both of us back for that dare. I looked back at Edward who looked somewhat taken aback by the dare but nowhere near as flustered as I was feeling. Emmett and Alice were both in hysterics once Jasper named his dare. Thankfully I was way passed tipsy and nearing drunk by that point so I crawled over to Edward and sat in his lap without thinking too much more about it. I did mumble an apology to him though. He chuckled lightly and told me it was okay.
Both of us sat pretty stiffly, I tried not to touch my back to his chest, and neither of us seemed to know what to do with our hands. He set his to the side of us and I crossed my arms. I decided that Jasper needed to be glared at for as long as I had to sit there. The other three were trying to compose themselves but whenever one of them looked at us and saw how awkward we were they fell right back into hysterics. I huffed, my patience was running thin, and I didn't want to sit there any longer than I had to.
"Okay Alice Truth or Dare?" I decided that maybe if I tried to keep the game going they would eventually calm down. Alice looked up at me then, her face slightly worried. I knew I couldn't embarrass her like the rest of us were doing, she hardly knew the guys, and although I didn't know Edward very well and I was not exactly happy that I had to sit on his lap, I knew that Alice would have been past mortified if it was her, she was already shy enough as it was.
"Um, truth," she answered timidly. I tried giving her a reassuring smile. I had to make it at least PG-13 rated or the guys would know I was babying her.
"What's the most scandalous and sexy outfit that you own? And describe it, or if you have it here I guess you could show it to us," she looked up at me with relief in her eyes. I knew she had no problem talking about her clothes. She sat up and nodded.
"I have it with me, should I just bring it down and show everyone or should I put it on?" Turned out she was feeling a little daring herself. Momma was so proud, my heart swelled.
The guys began chanting "put it on" so it seemed the decision was clear. Alice giggled and ran/stumbled up the stairs to change into her sexy outfit.
"So can I put my clothes back on now? I finished my drink," Edward said after a few moments of silence.
"What's the matter Ed, afraid Bella's going to feel something she shouldn't?" My face grew hotter by the minute.
"Shut up McCarty, I was just asking because I finished my drink and that was the rule," Edward snapped back at him. Emmett just laughed and put his hands in the air to show he surrendered.
Before I realized what happened Edward grabbed me by the waist and pulled us both into a standing position. I lost my balance once he set me on my feet and began falling backwards. Luckily he was still standing behind me, I fell against his chest and he grabbed my waist again. In my panic to catch myself before I knew he would I had thrown my arms out behind me, they had hit his torso, and while he was holding me steady my hands remained rested on his stomach. His stomach felt rather firm, but his skin was soft, like silk. I resisted the urge to run my fingers up and down his torso and instead yanked my hands away as fast as I could. Once he was sure I was able to stand up straight without help he began to put his clothes back on.
"Does that mean I can sit in my original spot again?" I asked hopeful that the embarrassment would end once Edward had pulled his clothes back on. Jasper gave me a serious look.
"The game is not over Bells, I said until the game ends." I huffed in response and made my way back over to Edward who was sitting down again. Unfortunately, in my frustration with Jasper I sort of forgot that it was a much lower drop than a regular chair would be. This in turned caused me to fall once again, but this time when I landed it was immediately responded with a loud painful yelp from Edward and I was thrown off his lap. I immediately realized what I had done and began panicking and apologizing and swearing and my face had never been redder to show my embarrassment.
"Oh my god Edward I'm so so so sorry, are you okay? Oh shit I can't believe I did that, oh man I am so sorry!" I knelt down next to where he was keeled over in pain. I had no idea what to do in a situation like this. Jasper and Emmett first responded with an empathetic hiss then burst out laughing harder than ever.
"I feel terrible, is there anything I can do?" I pleaded with him as he began to sit up straighter after a few minutes; I felt that I needed to do something to make it up to him.
"Oh yeah I'm sure you can do something to make it feel better Bella…" Emmett began, still laughing hysterically. But Edward cut him off.
"Shut the fuck up Emmett, seriously," his voice was strained yet there was a menacing hint to it that told Emmett when he said too much. Emmett sobered up almost immediately and nodded. I was impressed that Edward was able to intimidate Emmett; I never would have believed it was possible if I hadn't seen it myself. Edward finished recovering but continued to take deep breaths. I was biting my lip trying not to apologize too much, I know people hate when others just continue to apologize, I felt like I needed to say something but I stopped myself. He took a few more deep breaths then nodded. He motioned for me to sit back on his lap. I looked at him worriedly.
"Are you sure? It's just a stupid game, I don't have to. God I'm so sorry." I had to slip it in there; I hoped it was stealthy enough. He shook his head.
"It's fine." I bit my lip again, I wanted to protest but I knew it would just anger him so I slowly made my way back over to him. I sat as far up on his legs as I could without actually sitting on the floor. Unfortunately, Jasper saw this and decided he hadn't been enough of a jackass about the situation already.
"Bella, that is hardly his lap." I glared back at him.
"Shut up Jasper," I said through my teeth. But I then felt Edward's arm come around my waist and slowly pulled me farther down into his lap, even farther than I had been sitting before.
"It's fine," Edward repeated himself, took another deep breath then released his hold on my waist. I could feel the heat coming from his chest against my back; I had never been in a more embarrassing situation before. I resisted the urge to wiggle around, because I knew that wouldn't make things any better, so I sat there as stiff as a board.
Finally we heard the sounds of shoes on the staircase; I had almost forgotten that Alice was changing into her sexy outfit. I had never seen it before and could only imagine the things that she probably owned. We all stared towards the entryway expectantly. After a few moments Alice emerged looking like nothing less than a sex kitten. My eyes popped out of my head when I saw her outfit. All around me I heard sharp intakes of breath, and to my utter embarrassment and Edwards even more so, I felt a small yet certain movement beneath me. He immediately moved me farther up his lap; I tried to pretend like I didn't notice although my red cheeks may have given me away.
Alice was wearing black Mary Jane Platforms, the heels being at least 6" she had on a red pencil skirt that went down to her knees, this skirt fit her like a glove, and created curves I didn't even know she had. I was sure that if it wasn't red but a nude color I would have thought it was just her skin. The top was a black 50's pinup style halter that made her boobs look a size bigger, pushing them up towards her throat and together. She had teased her hair a little and stuck a red flower pin to one side. She added red lipstick to the makeup she had already been wearing. She looked fantastic, nothing about how she looked was trashy or slutty, it was a ridiculously sexy outfit but it gave her class at the same time. I threw a huge smile towards her.
"Damn honey, you looking like that is making me consider changing teams," I joked, she gave me a huge confident smile in return. After I said that all three guys turned their attention to me to see if I actually meant what I said. They didn't spend too much time looking at me though because Alice started walking back to her spot and she was unintentionally swaying her hips a bit too sensually for the guys to handle. Edward made a weird sort of cough sound. Jasper let out a deep shaky breath. And Emmett finally found his voice.
"Shit Brandon, why don't you wear this getup more often?" He asked while unabashedly looking her up and down. Alice's cheeks turned bright red and she shrugged.
"I don't have too many places to wear it, but it's one of my favorite outfits. I like how I feel in it," she said smiling again.
"I don't blame you; man, I wish I had an outfit like that. You remind me of a pinup girl," I told her checking her out a little bit myself. I would have loved to have an outfit like that, even if there was no place to wear it I could at least put it on and feel sexy for just a little while. Edward's breath caught and he made that strange cough sound again after I said that. I turned to face him and smirked.
"Are you alright?" He looked away from Alice and me with dark eyes.
"I'm fine," he muttered. I could tell he was feeling embarrassed by the whole situation.
"Hey, don't worry; Idiot #1 hasn't pulled his tongue back into his mouth since she walked in," I told him quietly pointing towards Jasper whose jaw was nearly on the floor, "and I'm afraid that Idiot #2's eyes will be stuck out of their sockets forever," I pointed toward Emmett whose eyes were still wide and were dangerously close to escaping his skull. Edward laughed when he noticed how ridiculous the others looked.
"Guys, doesn't Alice look nice? It wouldn't hurt to give the girl a compliment, and I don't mean the silent ogling kind," I said after a while of awkward silence.
"Uh, yeah Alice you look really good," Edward coughed and looked away quickly.
"Thank you Edward," She said smirking. I had a feeling that her shy side would soon be over around the guys. He nodded while keeping an intense focus on the wall.
"Yeah, really…uh, really good. Yeah," was Jasper's genius response, I couldn't help but roll my eyes. She nodded to him and gave him a small grin.
"Damn Brandon you look sexy as hell in that outfit," Emmett exclaimed. Alice and I both burst into laughter. She thanked him as best as she could through her laughter. I fell back against Edward's chest and continued giggling like crazy. After a short time Edward began to shift under me, he then lifted me up with him, much like he had before so that we were both standing.
"I'd say the game is over wouldn't you guys? It's getting pretty late, I think I'm going to head up to bed," he looked around at all of us quickly then grabbed some of the empty bottles and headed towards the kitchen. Emmett and Jasper look at each other then jumped up and grabbed as much stuff as they could carry and followed Edward into the kitchen. Alice and I looked at each other for a moment then fell back to the ground laughing hysterically for one of the many countless times that night.
