Okay it is the summer after the second movie

“Bye Kids be really good now okay” I saw the car retreating down the long drive and I knew I had landed in heaven that Friday afternoon.

Parents gone for the entire week was one thing, but only babysitters being Ann and Charlie? Plus they had all the other Murtaugh and Baker kids to look after! There was no way me and my 13 year old self were on there top priority list. Plus the Murtough lake house is huge. And if things get really bad I can escape with Eliot to Bud and Nora’s house across the lake. Charlie and Ann lived there most the time but they were staying at the Murtaoughs this weekend.

“Come on there going over rules now” Eliot said taking my hand in his as we walked towards the main room. We entered and someone whistled. It was Jake and he was going to pay…….somehow.

“Okay you guys time for the rules.” Said Charlie in a failed attempt to calm us down

“rule one everyone here must have a buddy” Eliot raised our joined hands. Everyone else followed suit.

“Okay rule two you must be here and accounted for,for all meals. We can’t all fit at the table so we have decided we don’t care where you eat.” Ann finished staring around

“Rule three is according to each age there are certain bedtimes unless as a group we are doing some activity like watching a movie” Charlie said pulling out a chart.

“K – 3 rd must be in bed at eight” Ann was cut off

“yes a half hour later!” an exclamation rose from some one

“As I was saying k-2 eight. 3-6 nine. Rising middle school ten and all High schoolers in at eleven you got that" Ann asked

There was a collective agreement. Yes out till eleven!!! There were 15 of us Kids total without Calvin, Lorraine or Nora here so it might be kinda easy to last the entire week. Nine whole days. This was going to be awesome, super, whatever you want to call it.
