The Middleton Mad Dogs were at home for their latest home game. It was a big rivalry game against Upperton. The game was at halftime with Upperton up by 7. The Middleton cheerleaders were about to take the field. The girls began their routine with Captain Kim Possible, and Backup Captain, Bonnie Rockwaller would be acting as flyers. The redheaded captain had disagreed with the decision but the other squad members had convinced her that Bonnie was better than any of them and would be best for the job.
“GO MAD DOGS!” The girls said as they tossed Kim and Bonnie into the air. But at the same point, a blast of green energy flew directly at Bonnie knocking her out of the air and caused the brunette to fall to the ground. Everyone looked to see if she was okay as Kim was successfully caught. Kim looked up into the air.
“You missed her” A blue-skinned man yelled.
“How was I supposed to know there would be more than one of them?” A green-skinned woman said before she was kicked by Kim.
Her sidekick and the school mascot, Ron Stoppable was tending the injured brunette. “Are you okay?” He asked her.
The brunette regained conscious. “Does it look I’m okay. Owwwwww” Bonnie said.
“I think your arm might be broken.” Ron said as he looked at her. “Someone call a doctor!”
A stretcher came out and carried Bonnie off of the football field which had become a battlefield. Kim appeared to be winning. Tara had come with her in the ambulance. All of the other cheerleaders seemed more concerned with the battle that was going on. Some people looked concerned but resumed watching fight after she was rolled away. The only one who looked genuinely concerned was Ron Stoppable. Bonnie wasn’t particularly fond of the boy. She didn’t have anything to really hate him for like she did with Kim but he was at the bottom of the food chain. Heck he was on a level by himself. Bonnie considered herself at the top.
Bonnie never really liked hospitals. The pain in her arm only made her dislike it more. She was stuck in the waiting room of the emergency room with Tara. Finally after 2 hours of waiting, she was taken to a room. It was still another hour before she was taken for X-Rays. It wasn’t until midnight till when she finally got results. By then her mom was in her room.
“Well Bonnie, it appears that your arm is broken. You’ll need to wear a cast for at least a month.” Anne Possible said.
“Great…” Bonnie said sarcastically. “Now I’m going to miss the homecoming game.”
“You’ll be missing a lot more than that young lady” Her mother said. “When you get to school on Monday, you’re quitting that cheerleading squad.”
“Mom! You can’t do this to me. I need to be on the cheerleading squad.” Bonnie whined.
“You don’t need it. I don’t want my Bon-Bon to hurt herself again.” Her mother said.
“It wasn’t even my fault.” Bonnie said trying to change her mother’s mind.
“I’m sorry but my mind is made up.” Her mother said.
Bonnie just knew that her reputation was going to suffer because of this. She definitely would no longer be on top of the food chain.
“Mom I’m not gonna do it.” Bonnie said defiantly.
“Then I guess I’ll have to take your car away. You won’t get it back after your arm heals.” Her mother said.
“But…but…fine you win” Bonnie said, looking disappointed. Her sisters were going to eat her alive for that.
The weekend went by slowly but eventually passed. Because she couldn’t drive, she had to take the bus to school. She could already hear people whispering about her. When she arrived at school she told Mr. Barkin that she was being forced to quit the squad. At lunch she looked for a table but no one would let her sit with them. Her boyfriend Brick approached her.
“Bonnie we need to talk” Brick said.
“About what Brick honey?” Bonnie asked
“Listen now that you’re not a cheerleader anymore, I really can’t be seen with you anymore. I think it’s best for both of us if we just end this now.” Brick said.
“What? No! Brick you’re all I have left!” Bonnie pleaded.
“Bonnie, begging’s not going to get you anywhere.” Brick said as he walked away.
Bonnie was shocked. In a single day, everything that she had worked so hard to maintain had come crashing down. She was now completely unpopular, at the bottom of the food chain.
