That boy was life, pure and simple. Life, and all that came with it, flowing through his hands. Through his palms on Jonesy, pressed to skin and all that grace, so beautiful and alive he could hardly stand it.

It made him want to cry for all that happiness, all that love. Those fingers on his face and he never wanted it to stop, that undeserved love and all he could do was take what was given. Why had he ever tried to resist this, this perfect, this beautiful—this blessing.

Ben was life, and he shone so bright all else was darkness by comparison.
