Summary: You always read the stories about Hyde not knowing he has a child. You never read the stories of Jackie not being there and returning years later. So here it is.
Chapter 1
The year was 1997, the place was Point Place, Wisconsin. The weather outside was the usual bitterly cold Wisconsin winter, the kind where if you went outside for a moment without a jacket you would practically freeze to death. There wasn't much in the town a grocery store, a gas station, a local hang out, and a small record store called Grooves.
The store was dirty and smelled musty, and in the middle of the room sat an old dark blue couch with rips in it, in front of the couch sat a coffee table with a record player on it. The Grey paint on the walls was chipping, as was the white paint on the radiator. Against the back wall sat bins of vinyl records. On the left side of the store sat a huge shelf of tapes, and on the right side was a shelf of Cd's, None of the music was alphabetized , it was organized chaos. The front desk where the cash register was kept was large and had band posters plastered on the front of every band you could think of from the sixties and seventies.
On that desk sat a teenage girl with her legs crossed, reading Rolling Stone magazine. She was pale with big blue eyes and long dark curly pulled back with barrett. The girls style style was kind of tomboyish, she wore a white thermal t-shirt with a black nirvana t-shirt over it, and a pair of dark wash jeans hugged her petite body. She sighed looking up at the door every few minutes, like she was checking for costumers.
“ Dad!” The girl whined
Through a doorway from behind the front desk walked out the owner Steven Hyde. His brown curly hair now had patches of gray in it. Other than that he hadn't changed much, he still wore those old band tee's and jeans, and he was still scruffy although there were more patches of gray in that as well. Of course you couldn't you forget those avatars, of course he still worse those. His daughter hadn't seen him take those off since her Grandpa Red's funeral.
“ Izzy!” he whined back, mocking her
“ Dad.” she giggled, rolling her eyes
He smirked at her, “ What can I do for you, doll?”
“ Can I go now please?” Izzy begged
“ No your shift isn't done for an hour, you can go when the little hand hits the five and the big hand hits the twelve.” he teased, acting as if she was a small child
She stuck her lower lip giving the older Hyde the puppy dog eyes, “ Please, I am so bored, we haven't had a customer in an hour.”
He smirked “ And as I recall you scared that customer away.”
“ She wanted a Spice Girls Cd, and I didn't scare her away I simply showed her a better selection of music.” she explained, hopping off the front desk and heading over to the coat hook
“ Izabella Jane Hyde, where on earth did you become such a smart ass?”
Izabella gave him a look like, “you should know.”
“ Oh, thats right from your old man.” he smiled, proudly
Izzy took her black coat down from the hook and put it on, “ So, can I go?”
Hyde stood there a moment thinking, “ Yes you can go.” he finally said
She ran over and hugged him, “ Thank you, Daddy.”
“ No problem kid, just one question, where are you going to make kissy face with the Forman boy?” he asked
“ Dad, we are just friends.” she responded, blushing, before exiting the store
