Note: Behold SasusSaku cuteness! I blame this to that fanart of Sakura hugging Sasuke's dino. Made my mind reeling. In case you are wondering… this story starts before the Uchiha massacre. Sasuke is seven years old, so he's not that revenge driven emo kid… yet. Hehe.

Mr. Dino

Sakura's first love is with a boy who hid behind his stuffed dinosaur.

She was crying again.

A small little girl about his age who had pretty pink hair. She was hiding like always, inside that big pipe on the side of the play ground.

No one knew she was there.

No one but him.

It was not the first time he had seen her, and each time he saw her, she was crying.

Always alone.

Always silently.

Sasuke thought her cries were beautiful.

She didn't scream or whine, not like any other kids he knew. She cried like an Uchiha (like him). Because of that, Sasuke felt a connection between them. He was inclined to approach and comfort her.

He never did.

Uchihas should only be seen with fear and respects, there was no room for kindness (that's what his father told him).

But something was different with her cries today. Hugging her knees, she sobbed silently. Every shake and tremble of her body screamed loneliness. She was calling softly for her 'otou-chan'.

Sasuke, always the bright kid, assumed she had just lost her father. Living in a shinobi family, Sasuke was well versed in the concept of death. He had not lost one close family yet, but he missed his father when he was away on missions. He could only estimate how much the pinknette miss her father, because she would never see the man again.

She must be really lonely.

Again, Sasuke felt the urge to go to her. It was stronger than anything he'd felt before. He held back, digging his heels to the ground.

Uchiha must not show kindness, he repeated in his head.

Sasuke took one last long look towards the pipe before turning on his heels and ran back home.

It was getting cold, the sun was setting, but Sakura didn't feel like going home. She didn't want her mother to see her tears. She was sad enough as it is. Sakura didn't want to make her mother cried even more.

She sniveled, rubbing her running nose to the sleeve of her red shirt. She hated to do that because it's gross, but she had not brought any hanky with her.

The corner of her vision caught something green. Sakura looked up but saw nothing outside the pipe. She was about to crawl out, but the green thing was back.

It was a green stuffed dinosaur.

Sakura blinked.

"Hnnnn….," a boyish voice said timidly. She could not see the boy, because the dino was blocking the entrance. "Uhm…. Hello, my name is Mr. Dino!"

Sakura blinked again.

"I'm here to be your friend!" said 'Mr. Dino', sounding completely flustered and nervous.

Now, Sakura had to giggle at that.

'Mr. Dino' obviously did not appreciate her amusement, because he quickly protested, "D-don't laugh! I'm not joking!"

"I'm sorry, Mr. Dino," Sakura apologized, but a smile was tugging the corner of her lips.

"Hn!"

There was an awkward silence.

Sakura blinked, staring at the stuffed dino. The Dino stared back with his big black beaded eyes.

"Uhm… you can bring me home with you," '' finally said.

"Eh?" Sakura tilted her head sideways in confusion. "Bring you home?"

"Hn, yeah," replied 'Mr. Dino'. "So you won't be lonely… at night."

"Uhm… are you sure?" the pinknette asked unsurely. She began crawling again towards the exit, wanting to see the boy who hid behind the plush.

"D-don't move!" the boy yelped.

Sakura froze. "But…."

"J-Just stay in there a little longer, okay?"

"But…."

"Count to ten. After that, you can bring me home with you."

"But…."

"I won't be able to talk anymore," said 'Mr. Dino', "but I will always be your friend!"

"Okay," Sakura wanted to roll her eyes. Did the boy really think that she believe the dinosaur could talk? He could have just said he didn't want her to see his face.

The plush dinosaur entered the pipe and sat still. "Okay, now count to ten!" the boy instructed.

Sakura sighed, although she complied and began counting, "One… two… three…."

She heard shuffling sound from outside the pipe. Grabbing the plush toy to her chest, Sakura quickly scrambled towards the entrance. Poking her pink head outside, she realized she was too late. The boy was running away. She could only see from afar his wierdly styled black hair and the big red and white uchiwa fan printed on the back of his blue shirt.

"Mou," the pinknette pouted in disappointment. She poked Mr. Dino on his squishy forehead, "At least tell me your real name."

Years later, when Naruto asked Sakura about the green stuffed dinosaur she'd always hugged in her sleep, the pinknette smiled secretively and replied,

"Mr. Dino is my first love."

A few meters away, leaning against a tree with his eyes closed, Uchiha Sasuke smirked in satisfaction.

The end

End Note: Just a drabble. The scenario is too adorable, I just have to write this down. Now I can go back working on Dusk... *happy tunes*

Sasuke does own a stuffed dinosaur, go check in chapter 402.

Please forgive the grammar and language errors, I've fixed it as much as I'm able.

In case you are wondering: In the short epilogue, Sakura already knew that Mr. Dino is Sasuke (she figured it out about a week after the incident). However, she didn't tell him and Sasuke wasn't going to say anything, either. (Because he thinks it's not cool... Sasuke-kun no baka!)
