Ch. 12

After Max's demise via the jaws of a werewolf, Namine, Coraline, Chowder, and the Lost Ice Agers ran down from the crow's nest and cheered for Roxas, who was now wearing Max's hat and coat.

"Hurray for Captain Roxas!" everyone cheered.

"That was awesome!" Sid said happily.

"I couldn't agree with you more!" Ellie added.

"What are we gonna do now, Captain?" Crash asked.

Roxas bowed before his crew, and he said, "We'll be casting off right now! Now let's move!" The Lost Ice Agers scrambled to get the ship moving.

Namine walked up to Roxas and said, "Roxas..." She stopped and then curtsied for him. "...I mean, Captain Roxas..."

"At your service, madam," Roxas said with a bow.

"Um, where are we going off to?"

"Why, to Stardon, of course!"

Namine smiled, and she ran to her siblings. "Coraline, Chowder, did you hear that? We're going home!" Coraline and Chowder cheered.

"Hey, are you still wanting to come with us?" Chowder asked the Lost Ice Agers.

Diego shook his head. "Nah. We agree that we belong here a lot more than wherever you came from."

"But thanks, anyway!" Manny added.

Roxas told his crew, "Hoist anchor!" Crash, Eddie, and Sid pushed the lever to bring the anchor up from the water. He turned to Alex and told her, "Pixie dust, please."

"No problem!" Alex said cheerfully. She sprinkled her pixie dust all over the pirate ship, sending it up from the water.

As the ship flew up into the horizon, Namine stood by Roxas. "Um, Roxas..." Namine began. "I'm still thinking about that kiss from you...that is..." She looked up at Alex, who was resting on the mast. Alex winked at Namine, letting her know that she wouldn't mind a kiss between Roxas and Namine. Namine smiled, and she kissed Roxas on the lips.

Roxas blushed, then smiled. Soon, they were almost to the Wayne home.

Later that night, Bruce and Selina returned home from the gala. Tiger was with them, and he said, "Oh, I'm so glad you came to your senses, Bruce! Besides, I-"

Selina interrupted him by telling Bruce, "Bruce, I was hoping you would change your mind about Namine. She needs to still be a kid."

"I didn't mean what I said," Bruce assured her. "I'll apologize to her in the morning. I'll tell her that I was just upset, that's all."

By then, the couple and Tiger arrived at the nursery door. "Do I still get to be a nursemaid?" Tiger asked happily.

"Yes, Tiger," Bruce and Selina said as the latter opened the door. But Selina gasped when she found Namine's bed empty!

"Namine!" Selina cried.

Suddenly, Tiger shouted, "There she is!" It turned out that Namine was sleeping by the open window. Selina sighed in relief, while Bruce asked,

"What are you doing by the window?"

Namine heard her parents and woke up. "We're back!" she cried when she saw Bruce and Selina.

"Back? From where?" Bruce asked.

"Never Land. But the Lost Ice Agers didn't come cause they're not ready."

"Lost Ice Agers?"

"Ready for what?" Selina asked.

"To grow up," Namine replied. "They want to stay in Never Land."

"Never Land?" Bruce repeated.

Tiger rushed over to Coraline and Chowder's beds, and he smiled to see that they have returned, too.

"They're not ready to grow up, but I am ready," Namine continued.

"You are?" Bruce asked, confused.

"It was a great adventure! We met Roxas Pan, and he took us to meet Alex, the mermaids...we were also kidnapped..."

"Kidnapped?" Selina repeated, surprised.

"By Captain Montana Max. But Roxas saved us, and he even called Max a pig. After that, he took us home on a sailing ship."

Bruce began to leave. "I'm ready for bed, so let's talk more in the morning."

"Look, Mom, see how he sails the ship?" Namine asked her mom, pointing at the window.

Selina looked out, and she called out, "Bruce! Bruce, come here!"

Bruce poked his head in the door, and he asked, "What now?" When he looked out the window, he gasped. He found a magical ship sailing among the clouds. "Tiger, did you..."

"Yeah, I see it!" Tiger said gleefully. "It's amazing!"

Bruce began to smile as he saw the ship sail by. "Now I have the strangest feeling, like I've seen this ship before...when I was very young."

Selina hugged her husband. "Oh, Bruce."

"Dad," Namine said, hugging him as well. With that, Namine, her parents, and Tiger continued to watch Roxas Pan's ship sail off into the night.
