Mahiru no Tsuki
Disclaimer: I don't own Crescent Moon, it belongs to Haruko Iida. I also don't own Hiru No Tsuki from Outlaw Star. I found this song very fitting. Enjoy…
…
He had come to the roof for no reason. But as soon as he spotted her he knew to leave. The golden haired girl's alone time was not something he wanted to intrude on, but then a soft humming caught his attention. Staring at her, hidden in shadows, he watched and listened as she began to sing.
"Oto no nai mahiru kaze ha tada akarui sukoshi nemutasou ni hanabira ga yureta,"
She stood on the roof top glazing out at the moon that seemed to fill the sky. Her words were sung with the most delicate of care. Her body swayed a little as a gently breeze caressed her skin. Her song washed over the young demon that watched her and left him in wonder. The moon glazed over her skin with its light and she was glowing with it; after all she was Princess of the Moon.
"Nani ge nai kono omoi nee, hito ha donna kotoba de yondeiru no,"
Was she talking of the legend? He frowned, that was all done with. Why must she go and remind herself of it? Some of his black green hair fell in his eyes and for a moment he had to fidget with it to get it out of his line of sight. He watched her body turn just the slightest and for a moment he'd thought to have been caught. But she turned back…
"Shiroi suna no tsuki toji kometa hanashi o hikari furasu you ni kikasete ne sotto…"
He hid himself in the darkness watching her ever more carefully now, his eyes retaining the rings from the effort to keep completely still. Slowly he peered out of the darkness at her. The song seemed even more sweet to his ears now and she seemed to have found a rhythm to dance to.
"Itsuka shiru toki ga kuru no? Mune no itami o soshite ima yori yasashiku naru no ne,"
For a moment he felt as if the words were for him. The pain in her heart? Him gentle? No she couldn't be talking about him. She was just his tool and he'd told her so. So why, why did he feel this pull? Was it everything that had happened between them? Everything that could happen, that made him want to run to her?
"Atatakai kono omoi nee, hito ha donna namae de yondeiru no,"
No, if he went to her now he'd be found out. But a warm feeling grew in his chest, and he realized that one day it would become too hot for him. This girl what was she doing to him?
"Shiroi suna no tsuki mabushikute mienai tooi mirai no koto kikasete ne sotto…"
What was to come for them both? He looked towards the moon for his answers. At the same time the young girl moved her bright eyes to the shadows just behind her, and then she two looked towards the moon. Her hands on her heart.

Translation:
"One soundless mid-day, the wind was so cheerful. Flower petals sway in the breeze as if they were sleepy.
This serene feeling... Tell me, what's the word people use for it?"
"Tell me a story that's locked away in the white-sand moon. Let me hear it as gently as light shining down..."
"Will the time come? When you will know the pain in my heart?
Then you'd be able to be gentler than you are now."
"Such a warm feeling... Tell me, what's the name that people give to it?"
"Softly, let me hear of the distant future, so bright it can't be seen, like a white-sand moon."
