Okay so this came to me pretty much two days ago, Kento's my third favorite Ronin Warriors character. I pretty much wrote this to pick on him. Anyway, Disclaimer Time, I DO NOT own the Ronin Warriors, they belong to Sunrise. However, the character Ayana Haruko is mine. She's a sixth Ronin Warrior I wrote about in another story, which I may post in the future. She wears the pink armor of the Stardust, and she has long brown hair and hazel eyes. She's very nice but a little bit of a tomboy, the others think of her as a sister. That's all you need to know about her. Anyway, on with the story!

Who's afraid of the Doctor?

Chapter 1 - A Sore Throat

It was a typical early summer morning. The sun was out, with little clouds in the sky, and it was already hot.

Everyone was aware of the day, including the Ronin Warriors. One of their newer members, 13-year old Ayana Haruko, was leaning against the counter, looking outside the kitchen window.

"Pretty day isn't it?" she asked.

"I agree," Sage replied, "Though I wish it would rain a bit more."

"Looks like you're gonna get your wish this evening Sage," Rowen added, watching the weather channel. He then clicked the remote and the screen went black.

"Hey, anyone know where Kento is?" Ryo asked through a mouthful of pancakes, "He should be up by now. It's nine o' clock."

"Well, you know Kento," Cye replied, "He could care less about getting up early. But once he smells this bacon, he'll come running down in no time."

Suddenly, they all heard footsteps coming down the stairs.

"See," Cye smiled, "What did I tell you."

Ayana smiled back. But once she saw Kento, she knew that something wasn't right. He was coming down the stairs slower than usual, and his face was beat red. And when he reached the bottom, he gave a couple of big coughs. Ayana immediately ran up to him.

"Hey easy there fella," she said, "You okay?"

"Yeah I'm fine," Kento replied, "Just a little cough."

Suddenly, Kento pricked up and smiled.

"Is that bacon?" he asked.

Ayana nodded and Kento instantly ran to take his seat at the table. He happily shoved two strips of bacon into his mouth. But just then, all eyes were on him when he tried to swallow. Kento put his hand against his throat, tilted his head back, and uneasily swallowed the bacon.

"Kento what's up?" Rowen asked.

"Oh nothing," Kento replied, "It was, just a little hard to swallow that's all."

Cye looked at Kento with suspicious eyes.

"Kento, are you sure you're alright?" he asked him, "You look really red, and I heard you coughing just now."

"Ah, quit worrying about me Cye. I just have a little sore throat, it's nothing."

"Oh really? Is having a hard time swallowing nothing?"

Kento immediately got the feeling that something was coming up, and he wasn't going to like it.

"Let me look at your throat," said Cye.

Kento instantly pulled away from him.

"Cye, I'm telling you, I'm fine!"

"Come on Kento," said Ryo, "If you're really fine let Cye look at your throat."

Kento got an annoyed expression on his face.

"Oh fine!"

He let Cye take his face into his hands.

"Okay Kento open wide, open wide."

Kento opened his mouth wide, stuck out his tongue and said, "Aahh."

Cye frowned once he looked inside.

"I can't see well enough. Sage, do you know where the small flashlight is?"

"Uh yeah I think it's under the sink," Sage replied.

Kento was beginning to get nervous, he hoped that his throat didn't look as bad as it felt. However, Ayana gave him a smile of encouragement. He smiled back, though nervously. Just then, Cye returned with the flashlight.

"Alright Kento, open wide."

Once again, Kento opened his mouth. Cye turned the flashlight beam on and looked inside. He raised his eyebrows.

"Definitely red," he said.

As Cye turned the flashlight off and put it back under the sink, he asked, "Kento, how long has it been since you last saw the doctor?"

Kento instantly turned to Cye. Every time he even heard the word doctor a chill traveled up his spine.

"Oh it hasn't been too long," he replied, tuning Cye out.

Cye sighed and asked, "Really?"

Kento then knew that there was no keeping the truth from Cye, he always noticed even the smallest detail.

"Okay it's been five years alright?"

"Well then I'm definitely calling him, because that red throat of yours isn't looking too good."

As Cye walked out of the room to go use the phone, Kento put his head in his hands. He had fallen into Cye's trap and there was no getting out of it. Suddenly, Ayana grabbed his collar and pulled him up.

"Come on Kento, don't be such a baby. You're usually better than this."

"Easy for you to say, you're not the one with a sore throat."

"Well she might be right Kento," Ryo added, "Why should a tough guy like you be afraid of going to see the doctor?"

"I'm not afraid!" Kento snapped, "Only babies are afraid of the doctor."

"Good, then it should be no problem for you," said Rowen.

Kento smiled proudly at him, though he was still secretly dreading what was to come.

Just then Cye came back to the kitchen and turned to Kento.

"Good news Kento, I got you an appointment with Dr. Kimura tomorrow."

"Tomorrow!" Kento groaned. He then put his head back in his hands, until he heard Ayana talk to him.

"Kento, you'll be fine! I'll even go with you if you want."

Kento sighed, at least Ayana was being nice to him, instead of her pulling pranks on him like she often did. He might as well take advantage of it.

"Alright, as long as you don't tease me too much."

"I promise," Ayana smiled.

She and Kento then did a small high five, but Kento still had that nervous feeling all throughout the rest of the day.
