"What, exactly, is the point of having a phone if you never answer it?" Peter muttered as he walked up to the door of his apartment, feeling more out-of-the-loop than all the moments of the past six months combined. It'd seemed like, after Sylar and Danko and...everything, after the action was over, that everyone had backed away into their corners again. God forbid you actually wanted to talk to anyone...

The door was already opened.

Just a crack, but that was enough for him to stop a moment, eyes narrowed and body suddenly tense, reaching slowly for the door. The feeling of 'something-very-very-very-bad-is-going-on' crawled down his spine, and he stepped into his apartment wishing he'd bumped into someone with an ability that'd be more useful than the shapeshifting one that was growing a bit stale.

He felt the tension drain when he saw it was just Claire. He opened his mouth to say hello, or to ask why she didn't shut the door, or something like that, but she interrupted him.

"Peter." Her tone brought the very-very-very-bad feeling back. She turned to him, eyes wide and full of too many emotions to describe.

He stepped closer to her. "What is it?" She was shaking.

"Nath-" She shook her head. "They did something, Peter. Something bad." She looked away from him, and the bad feeling added a few extra 'very's onto it.

"Who did what?" Peter asked softly, probably just a bit too forcefully. "What's wrong?"

Claire looked back up at him. "Sylar is back."
