AN: Oh wow, this is different than what I usually write. This is my first (at least first posted) GTA IV fanfic and I have to say I'm nervous about what you guys think. Please review and tell me how I can improve, constructive criticism is good... sometimes. This isn't one of the typical things I write, I write fanfictions in other worlds. So this is a big change for me, especially the genre. This is also my first attempt on doing an action genre, different from my usual romance and comedy ones. Please tell me if this plot makes sense because I couldn't get the game well, not a hearing problem more like a stupid brain problem. XP This story is set after the Deal Ending. So here's the fanfic, enjoy and review!

“Niko Bellic?”

“Yes?”

“A gift from Dimitri Rascolov.” The man takes out his gun, but Niko turns around and tries to snatch it away from him. The gun is pointed towards the crowd, and the trigger is pulled. Niko, still holding the gun, tries to take control and moves the gun pointing it up into the Sky. The man shoots the gun once more, and then Niko take control and points the gun at the man’s forehead. The trigger is shot once again; the man dies and falls to the ground.

The entire group of people surround Niko and looks at the dead body of a hired assassin by Dimitri Rascolov.

“Shit Niko,” Said Roman. “That gun nearly shot me! Can you imagine what would happen if I die today?”

Niko stated, “I still have some unfinished business to take care of.”

Roman replied, “Let me come with you.”

“No, it’s too dangerous for you.” Responded Niko.

“Dimitri screwed you over again and hired an assassin to kill you on my wedding day. I’m coming.”

Niko said, “No, I don’t want anything happening to you. Jacob and I will handle this.”

Mallorie came up to Roman and spoke, “Roman, let them do it.”

“Okay, but if you need any help, just tell me.” Niko nodded and left along with Little Jacob. They were going to end it with Dimitri once and for all.

It was raining Cats and dogs, and Roman and Mallorie were wondering if Niko and Little Jacob were fine. Niko came in the penthouse soaking wet and covered with blood. He held a sniper rifle firmly in his hands.

“I did it.” Niko stated. “I killed Dimitri.”

Roman apologized, “Niko, this is my fault; always thinking about money before anything else. I’m sorry I got you into this.”

“It wasn’t your fault, cousin. It was my own; I shouldn’t have worked with him again.”

“Well he’s gone now; he’s not going to disturb you anymore.” Roman explained.

“Yeah...”

Niko moved down his contacts list until he reached the name Packie. He gave him a call and waited for Packie to pick up. “Hey Packie, you wanna shoot some pool?”

“Okay, I can play. Pick me up at my ma’s.” Packie said.

Niko arrived at the McReary house and saw Packie waiting on the street. He got inside the car and said, “Let’s go so I can beat your ass.”

Niko and Packie were in Playboy’s penthouse; they got their cue sticks and headed over to the pool table by window. “You break.” Packie commented. Niko bent over and pointed his cue stick towards the white ball. He moved the stick back and forth and hit the white ball hard. The green ball sinks into a corner pocket.

Niko asks while playing, “So how have you been, Packie?”

“Okay, although I don’t like comforting my ma all the time. She’s still a little upset about Gerry being in pen and Derrick/Francis dying. Now it’s just me and Kate with her. If Kate dies I don’t know what I’ll do, she never does anything bad. It’s us McReary guys that suffer; if Kate dies I’d be upset like Hell.” Packie explained.

“How is Kate anyway?” Niko asked. Packie then had his turn and sank a striped ball.

Packie answered, “Well she was upset that you went with that drug deal she told you not to join.”

“She told you?” Niko looked at the pool table to see which ball to sink.

“Yeah, I’ve never seen her that mad before.” Packie said.

Niko replied, “I didn’t know she was that mad at me.” He bent over and pointed his cue stick towards the white ball again.

“It’s more than just the drug deal.” Niko ignored his turn for a second; he stood up straight and looked at Packie.

He wondered, “What do you mean?”

“She likes you, Niko. She really likes you.” Packie answered. Niko was stunned, he knew that she liked him but he didn’t know that she liked him. He trusted Kate very well; he knew that he can turn to her if he had problems. He should have listened to her about not taking that drug deal with Dimitri. They were good friends; they liked to hang out with each other. But Niko loved Kate for a while now.

“She wanted to tell how she felt about you but when you told her you went with the drug deal, she thought you were pretty selfish. That’s Kate for you. Look, I don’t even know why I’m telling you this; I should leave you two alone.”

Niko said, “No, it’s okay.” They both continued with their game.

Niko drove back to the McReary house in Dukes. “Thanks for the ride, Niko.” Packie said.

“Hey Packie, mind if I come in?” Niko asked.

“Well we haven’t had company for a while but I guess my ma won’t mind.” They got out of the car and headed towards the door.

"Hey ma, look who followed me home." Packie stated while coming in.

Mrs. McReary said, "Oh hello Niko."

"How are you?" Niko asked.

"Well, Gerry's in pen, Francis/Derrick is dead, Kate still can't find a man, and my husband is still in hell. In short, everything's gravy." She explained.
Niko nodded, the McReary family was never peaceful and loving. Niko's known it for being violent from Packie's stories. He always heard about poor Kate seeing her brothers and father argue and/or commit acts of violence. Kate came out of the kitchen and was a bit surprised to see Niko there in the living room.

Kate questioned, "Niko, what are you doing here?"

"I came here to talk to you."

"Well I'm not interested."

"Kate, please, it's important." Niko said as he was walking towards her.

Kate responded, "Maybe important to you, it can wait. Now I'm heading to my room."

"I didn't want to do this, but..." Niko then grabbed Kate and lifted her, carrying her over his shoulders.

"Niko! Let me go!" Kate shouted while hitting her hands on his back.

"You're coming with me." Niko explained. "She'll be back before dinner, Mrs. McReary."

Mrs. McReary said, "Bye, you two."

"Mom!!!" Niko quickly put Kate inside his car and got in his seat. Kate commented, "Niko, I don't want to speak to you right now. I want to be home, now let me go back."

"No, you're talking to me." Kate didn't listen to him, but instead started to undo her seatbelt Niko strapped in for her. Before she knew it, they were going at a hundred kilometers on the highway. She knew that he knew that she wouldn't leave the car at such a high speed. At this rate, we'll be dead in five minutes. "Are you ready to talk now?" Niko asked.

Kate sighed, "Fine, but I'm still mad at you for going with that drug deal."

"I'm mad at myself too, but that's not what I want to talk about." Niko explained. "I heard from Packie that you... like me." Kate was shocked, Packie actually told Niko!

"Packie's a liar, I don't like you."

Niko wondered, "Why would Packie lie about that?"

Kate answered, "He's always been a liar, he's only doing it to mess with your mind."

"Bullshit, Kate! You're the liar right now."

"Fine, fine. I am lying." Kate said. "But not completely. I don't like you, I liked you. I became angry when you went with that drug deal. It made me realize that selfish criminals like you with a death wish don't change, you only care about yourself. I thought you you were sweet and caring, but I guess I was off wasn't I?"

Niko explained, "I only did it so I can live in this city, we all try and survive. Sometimes I can't tell right from wrong. Now I know I shouldn't have done that deal. And... I like you, Kate." She looked at him, surprised to hear that he liked her. "And I want to go out with you." Kate, hearing this, started thinking hard. "I know what I've done, but from this day on, I want to move on and become good. Start hanging out with good people instead of bad ones, I want to let go of my past." Kate considered this, he really was a kind person. She knew that what she saw in him was true, but did she still like him? She had to listen to her Heart to find out.

Niko slowed the car down down and parked by a curb. "Will you go out with me?" Kate looked at Niko nervously, staring into his eyes. She leaned over to him and kissed him. She knew that she made the right choice, and Niko has felt a wonderful feeling. He felt happier and more in love than when he went out with Karen.

When they broke their kiss, Kate said, "I love you."

Niko smiled and replied, "I like you, Kate." Kate's cell phne rang, it was Packie calling.

"Hello?"

"Kate, ma told me Niko threw you over his shoulder and drove off with you. Are you okay?"

She answered, "I'm great, I'll be home soon. Bye." She put her cell phone away and asked Niko, "Can you drive me home?"

"Sure."

Niko's car stopped in front of the McReary house. "Thanks for driving me home." Kate said, she gave him a light kiss on the cheek and got out of the car. "Call me later, okay?" Niko nodded and drove off. Niko then got a call from Roman.

"Niko, I want you to meet me at the penthouse right now. I have something to ask you."

"I'm on my way."

The elevator doors parted wide, Niko looked at the penthouse and saw Roman and Mallorie sitting down on the couch. "Roman, what is it?" He wondered.

"Niko, how would you like to take care of our child?" Roman asked.

"What?"

Roman answered, "Well, Mallorie is pregnant! Isn't this exciting? She works at the cab office for eight hours every weekday. So can you take care of the baby once she's born while Mallorie's at work?"

Niko replied, "I don't know, Roman. I'm not exactly good with people to begin with, I don't think I'm any better with kids or babies."

"Well it's either that or you temporarily take over Mallorie's spot in the cab office." Roman explained.

Niko said, "I'd rather do that."

"Okay, then it will be us working at the cab office. Cousins working together."

"How... fun."
