Epilogue
By Charliemew2
Charlie found himself coming to. He looked around then realized what had happened. He and Yusei had defeated Goodwin. The Dark Signers were gone.
He got out of bed and found his deck sitting next to him on his table. Sunshine Dragon was on top. Charlie smiled.
"We did it…" he said.
Charlie took his Trenchcoat and slung it over his back. He walked outside of his trapdoor and into the light of the slums. His duel runner was parked right in front of the door.
"Good to see you…" He thought as he mounted it and revved the engine.
Charlie zoomed off towards Bootleg and quickly stopped in front of the place. He parked his bike and then felt a shadow cover him.
"Hi Charlie." He heard a voice.
He turned to see Akiza. He stood up.
"How'd you know where I was?" he asked.
"Yusei found Blister and he told me." She said to him.
Charlie sighed.
"What do you want?"
"To …Apologize." Akiza said. "Listen, the way I attacked you when we first met, that was wrong of me."
Charlie chuckled. Akiza looked strangely at him.
"I don't blame you. Akiza, if you hadn't, I might not have met any of you guys. I may not have met Sayo again. I might not have realized why my life was so empty." Charlie explained.
Akiza smiled.
"So you forgive me?" She asked.
Charlie nodded.
"By the way…How long have I been out?" he asked.
Akiza chuckled.
"The duel was 2 days ago." She said.
Charlie gasped and ran through Bootleg's door.
"Thanks a lot Akiza!" He said as he rushed in.
Lou was polishing glasses while Quinn was leafing through a deck of cards.
Charlie sat down with a smile.
"One Root Beer with 3 ice cubes." He said.
Lou turned and gasped. Quinn turned to him.
"You're alive!" They said. Lou shook Charlie's hand. Charlie took Seven Star Final out of his deck and handed it to Lou.
"Yep. And I might not be if it wasn't for your card, Lou." He explained.
Quinn looked at him.
"Dude…You…You're smiling! Are you alright!?" he demanded. "Are you high?"
Charlie threw back his head and laughed as Lou handed both of them a mug.
"That's rich!" He said with a chuckle.
Then a new figure walked into the bar and sat down next to them as Charlie explained to Quinn and Lou about everything that had happened in the Satellite. They listened.
Charlie pulled out Sunshine Dragon and Shine Sprite.
"These are them." He said.
Then he pulled out Sayo's deck and took out Element Guard, placing it in the deck.
"I don't know how the Dark Signers got Sayo's deck back, but…If I ever see her again, I'll give this back to her." He said.
"No time like the present then." The threesome heard a voice as a silky smooth hand reached out and took the deck.
Charlie slowly turned his head to meet with a girl with purple hair tied back in 2 ponytails and bright blue eyes. She smiled and held up the deck.
"S…Sayo?" Charlie sputtered. Quinn and Lou gasped.
"This is her!?" They asked.
Sayo reached over to Charlie and embraced him. He looked too shocked to say anything. Sayo was back with him.
"This calls for a celebration!" Lou said. "Root Beers are on me!"
Charlie put his arm around Sayo's head and hugged her back.
"I'm…Glad your back…" He said.
With that, Charlie stood up. He took Sayo by the arm.
"Can you…come with me for a minute?" He asked her. Sayo nodded and stood up. With that, she and Charlie walked out of Bootleg.

Over at the Satellite, the completed bridge stood. Yusei, Crow, and Jack all stood there overlooking the new view.
"We finally did it guys…" Yusei said. Crow nodded.
"Yeah…" Jack said. "I guess there's only one thing left to do now…"
They all hopped onto their duel runners and started to drive onto the bridge. Then they stopped. A figure was blocking their path at the top.
Charlie was on his duel runner with Sayo holding onto him.
"Yusei…You and I have some unfinished business…" Charlie said with a smile.
Yusei smiled back. Jack and Crow looked at him.
"So…We were about to settle something of our own." He said. Charlie looked over at Sayo.
"Hold on." He told her.
"Kay…" She said.
4 engines roared and 4 runners took off…
"RIDING DUEL! ACCELERATION!" They all yelled.
That duel we had was better off unexplained. Sayo was back and I realized something. I had friends who would stick by me and stick their necks out for me.
I thank them for that. That day was one of the best of my life. So world…Bring it on! I'm living! And I'm dueling! I can take on the world!
FIN
And that's the end of this fanfic. I hope you enjoyed reading it as much as I enjoyed writing it. But fear not! Sayo and Quinn will have a much bigger role! Yes!
There will be a sequel! For now, read my other fic, Yu-Gi-Oh: Legend of the Pure Hearts. But make sure to look out for, The Shadows: Dueling Destinies.
It's going to be a blast.
Thank you all for reading, as I would like to especially thank Duelist of Dawn for sticking with me for every step of the way.
Bye guys. Thanks for reading the adventures of Charlie in, The Shadows.
