CHAPTER
V

Jom, the once undead sergeant, scarfed his meal down. It had been two decades since he last ate a decent meal. Fae watched him wearily and in shock. On the roof of the inn, Setzer and Celes laid in the snow, making snow angels. Celes soon sat up and looked at the wolf constellation. Setzer also eyed the set of stars in the shape of a wolf.

"So, tell me the story behind that set of stars in particular," he chuckled. It was a demand.

"Long ago, a white she-wolf was born with the power to see the future," Celes began. "Her twin brother, a black wolf, had the power to see the past as it happened long ago. A seventeen-year-old boy had been born with the power to see the present as it happens. They found each other on Mt. Ordeals and began a perilous quest to understand their power. But one day, the black wolf turned on his sister and the boy. He lunged at the boy and broke his neck. The she-wolf then killed her brother and watched the blood of both mix and become one. That day she learned the humans and animals were there same. She howled a song to the full moon, and a prophecy was created. A gray wizard who was accompanying the group wrote down the prophecy. I don't know the prophecy, but everyone knows that has yet to come true. The wolf in the stars is the black wolf. The she-wolf gave the constellation to her brother to honor him despite his disgrace. The constellation beside him is Remus, the boy the black wolf killed. I may have forgotten much of the story as well as the prophecy, But I do remember the major details...Curaga...Well, there's one more spell I was missing."

They laughed.

They arrived back in Bafsk a couple days later with the mythril ore. Kat was pleased and went straight to work on fixing the airship. Celes was packing up to for a jouney back to Fynn. Setzer came into the spare room and watched her pack. He was worried. Celes would be leaving. Was she going home to prepare Fynn for war? Was she going home to see her family? Would she even make it there?!

"You're leaving?" Setzer asked.

"I must return to Fynn," Celes answered. "There's a war coming and we need to be prepared."

"I can take you there myself as soon as Kat has the engine fixed," Setzer assured her.

"I doubt Starlight would mind sky-travel," Celes sighed. "Starlight is a fast mare and I have friends and family along the way south. I can stay in Kashuan Castle, then in Palamecia Palace. It should only be about ten days worth of travel."

"Would you rather be there in ninety percent less of the time?" Setzer asked.

"A journey like this is good for Starlight and myself," Celes replied. "Besides, I have to inform the High Duke of Kashuan and my uncle, Emperor Leon of the situation at hand."

"Your uncle is Palamecia's emperor?" Setzer was stunned.

"Yes..."

"How about this: I'll have Kat build a stall for Starlight and we can stop in Kashuan and Palamecia along the way," Setzer said. "Besides, Fae has family in Kashuan serving as the head wizard."

Celes smiled. "Alright Mr. Gabbiani, I'll take you up on that offer," she said.

Fae burst in. "Guys, come quick! A white dragon has shown up with a dragoon, a white wizard, and a paladin!" she shouted.

"A white wizard and a paladin?" Celes asked.

"Yeah! The white wizard is a very pretty lady," Fae said.

"Mom! Dad!" Celes exclaimed. She ran out to see her parents dismounting the large, white dragon. Her parents eyed her. They ran and embraced each other. Fae went over and told them everything they learned. Setzer watched from afar. Maria looked his way and for one brief moment, Maria's eyes turned blood red. Setzer stared in shock as Maria turned to speak with her husband and daughter.

In time to come,
Three would be born.

One will see the past that happened,
One will see the present as it happens,
And one will see the future before it happens.

As the moon approaches,
All will be lost.

Only they can find it again.

Look to the moon,
And be reborn.

The crystals will speak,
And nature will fight.

All life will gather in wait.

Together we shall reign victorious,
But seperated we shall fade...
