I swore to myself years ago I'd never do this, but I find myself in the position of needing to use a chapter as an author's note. I'm really, really sorry for the false hopes, but I ask you to read anyway.

As of today, I'm marking Shattered Hearts as complete. I went back and made a few changes so it could stand alone as it is and I didn't have to change the category from 'romance' to 'friendship'. I tried to continue this, I really did, but it got to the point where sitting in front of the computer and opening the file containing the seventh chapter became emotionally draining. I already forced myself to finish one story after losing interest in it, and I thought I'd be able to do it again, but I can't. My only excuse is that it was early days for me, fanfiction-wise, and I tackled the story without a clear idea of where I was going. Once I finally drew up an outline, like I should've done from the beginning, I had already lost the spark of inspiration for it.

BUT. There's a bright side to all of this. Or bright-ish. As opposed to writing 9 more chapters of this story, as was the original plan, I'm writing a oneshot sequel where Ryan and Silver are already an established couple and include flashbacks to show how they got to that point. I don't write it as an epilogue to this story because the change of pace and style would be too big, but this way you'll still be able to get closure and see our couple in all its romantic glory.

This oneshot should be published in a couple of weeks, so check again then or add me to your author alert, and you'll get to read it, assuming you're still at all interested in this tale. Once again, I'm really sorry, and I hope to make it up to you with the sequel.
